Lollipop Chainsaw |OT| Nothing makes you forget about a bad E3 like a lollipop!

How do you get new Awesome Skillz?

I want Holy Chainsaw, but it's never appeared. Do I have to buy everything else 1st?

Holy Chainsaw is supposed to be available in Stage 5. Try unlocking Chainsaw Full Swing and then Chainsaw Paradise. Holy Chainsaw is the very last combo to unlock, and be aware that it costs a lot of zombie medals.

Last question from me for now, can all lollipop wrappers be found under one difficulty setting?

Like Pupi18 said, there are wrappers that can only be found on Hard. So yes, all lollipop wrappers can be found on one difficulty, as long as that difficulty is Hard.

I started playing this last night. It's just a lot of fun. It really reminded me of Saints Row the Third. Just have fun. Games take themselves too seriously these days.

I just got all the lollipop wrappers, now I just need to kiss nick 100 times for the full 1000. No idea how close I am on that...

I just finished Zombie Baseball (only took me three tries! Yay!!!) and since I've had to play Basketball twice now, I have to wonder: Does Zombie Baseball occur multiple times?

God I hope not...

God, the fake difficulty with how some enemies are immune to hitstun under certain conditions, or how you're immune to hits sometimes but not really known when, or how you can be knocked out of your deadly chainsaw twirls by some enemies for some unknown reason... it's a good thing I'm not playing this solely for the combat.

Just beat it yesterday and got the good ending. Overall it was pretty fun! I'm glad I got it. I was surprised at how much stuff becomes unlockable when you beat the game. I'm definitely going to give it a few more playthroughs. For my first Suda games it was really enjoyable. I'm going to move on to Shadows of the Damned next.
SotD is more of a Shinji Mikami game than a Suda one, gameplay wise. Suda had more to do with the story than the actual coding.

I've been intrigued by this game. Couple of questions:

1. Does it rely on learning insane button combinations (I'm shit at stuff like that in DMC for example).
2. Is the game hard? And added to this: does it give you stupid rankings that only give you good if you have to hurry like mad through each level AND hold a 50 hit combo?
3. Any time-based and escort missions?

1 - There are combos, but they're pretty simple.
2 - It's fairly easy, apart from a few moments. A very hard mode and new game + are unlockable though.
3 - no. At worst, you have to save a few asses before they become part of the buffet, but that's short and not a primary objective.

Got this day one and really enjoying it, haven't played it for a couple of days but eager to get back to it.

Does a Very Hard playthrough unlock anything extra? MP3s/costumes etc?

I don't think so. Hard mode is the last one that has unlockable stuff. But Very Hard as the same unlockables.

Anyone want this huge box?

Everything that was inside (mostly cheerleading gear I gave to a three year old) is gone except a keychain of Nick's head, which I'll throw in. As far as I know it wasn't commercially available. I was going to throw it out but I thought someone on gaf might dig it. Shipping cost is all I ask.

edit: United States.

Just finished this game with the good ending a few minutes ago. I liked it, though I felt it didn't quite stick the landing after a pretty amazing ride. I'd love to see what they'd do if a sequel were ever to be made...any idea of how it sold?

I have to say I really enjoyed this. I love Suda's absolute batshit craziness. It's always nice to play weird as hell games after so many serious business games. Combat was pretty weak, and the framerate seemed a tad slow, but the whole package was nice.

Whipped up a little something after finally getting the Good End.

I feel kind of dumb for picking this up full price a few days after opening day, I pretty much suspected beforehand that the pure combat wouldn't be anywhere near as good as Platinum's efforts. But it is a damn sight less frustrating than No More Heroes 1 or 2, so I'd have to say gameplay-wise it's probably Grasshopper's best performance yet (though I haven't booted up Shadows of the Damned yet). Very entertaining script though, even if I think a lot of the direction was inconsistent; the sheer ridiculousness of some things propelled it sky-high. Great music, too.

Might redo the image with less lines.

I was able to grab LC off Amazon for 45$ on pre-order, and I think it was that price a little after launch too. Definitely a better value considering the length. I really like the game but my main two disappoints are the length and I think they could've done a better job with Juliet's character.

While I would've really liked to see a couple more levels, the replayability is surprisingly good. I generally only play games through once with the rare exception, but I found this game holds up pretty well for about 3 playthroughs. It held my interest at least. I did once through normal, once through hard, and finally once through Ranked mode. I'm sure it was just dumb luck, but I was able to afford the last stat boost for Juliet at the shop right before the last boss on my second playthrough, so having plenty of upgrades and combos and unlockables to last through two playthroughs really helped. And there's more to Ranked Mode than I suspected at first, with each stage being split up into sections with special requirements to meet to get bonus points and a new zombie type to fight.

I think Lollipop Chainsaw has chances of having sequels as Juliet said she didn't only fought with zombies. It would be interesting to see how she handles Vampires, Sasquatch, Frank N Berries or any other stuff. Also there is obvious place to grow in combat. Better Dodging, More cancels, More moves and also better camera or fixed view like DMC could also help the game hide some of the obvious not so polished level designs in areas and give it more of Comic book like shots at it. I wouldnt mind playing as Cordelia or Rosalind either to change up the pace instead of using mini games give me characters that play different but keep in mind the main focus is still Juliet.

Obviously that is me thinking that could be done for improvements on a sequel XD

Armadillo Spin is like the flying swallow of this game. If they added the ability to cancel pom poms into chainsaw attacks they game would be even better.

Finished up my first run last night but I only got the bad ending. Even so, I thought the ending was pretty cool and the whole game experience was very good. So much so that I immediately restarted and did the school stage again so I could rescue some kids I missed on the first time through. The game is fun, the writing and characters are hilarious and the soundtrack is brilliance. I hope a sequel is made and Juliet's family (especially the dad) get a bigger role or are playable. There's some great potential there.

I like it! Nick's face reminds me of Scott Pilgrim (which is a good thing)

Enjoyed the game but the length was really, really, really short. I didn't like combat for perhaps the game until I unlocked more moves (only spent coins on unlocking moves). By the time I had purchased enough to feel fluid/effective enough in combat I was at the ending of the game. Really should've had a few from the get go. Definitely feel the "zombie sponge" thing a lot of people were talking about before.

Overall still happy the game was made and definitely worth playing. Would be interested in a sequel that fleshes out everything more.

My absolute dream situation would be a NMH x LC game. I think Travis and Juliet would make for a fun game.

Combovers don't work when there is no hair
Got this in the mail today. Just finished the prologue. Graphics obviously aren't particularly impressive, and the combat seems kinda eh so far (might get better once I unlock more combos), but it's the absurdity of it all that makes the game enjoyable to me (radioactive zombies yelling 'nuclear testes in my pants' etc.), but I'm glad I got the UK version for half the price of a domestic copy.

Edit: So, first there's a
black metal viking zombie in a flying viking ship who yells at his slaves (who seem to be native Americans or inuits, as those were the people the vikings called skræling)
, and then I get to kill US football zombies while Children of Bodom are playing as BGM. This game is insane. In a good way. I wish there were more games like this rather than all the dull shooters we get from the West.

Travis, Juliet and Garcia Hotspur from Shadows of the Damned all seem like characters who could easily exist in the same world. On one hand, LC has a lot of potential for a sequel and cameos from Travis and/or Garcia would be groovy, but one of the things I really like about Grasshopper is they tend to put out lots of new IPs and new characters, aside from NMH2.

Also the best unlockable costume is
dad's. Those sideburns.

I think I'd want to see a Killer 7 x Shadows of the Damned crossover the most.

Got my platinum <3 Still need to buy a few more outfits though. Anyone know some good spots to farm sparkle hunting?

If LC gets a sequel I'd love to have Cordelia playable. She ended up being my favorite character. " I could eat whatever I want and food would just fall out of my neck" loved that line.

if the banned sales site is true Lollipop Chainsaw did an overall of 301,592 on its first week. if that data is true does that means is the best first week for a Grasshopper game?

Is there any word on the Pre-Order outfits being up for sale soon? I want that damn Ash costume
They keep saying on the LC twitter whenever anyone asks that they were for pre-order only.

NMH on PS3 had DLC. Mortal Kombat and Arkham City had pre-order DLC get released later. But if it doesn't get released, it wouldn't be like it is first time a game ever had truly exclusive pre-order only DLC.

I have a sneaking suspicion that it will really be exclusive and not released later, which is why I have managed to buy three of the codes. It didn't sell well though, so their are substantially less codes out there for sale. I don't think I'll be able to track down an Ash or Jimmy Urine code without spending a ton and $5 is my limit.
Hopefully more people buy the Canadian version and put the 4-costume card up for sale on eBay. But that doesn't include Ash, so I would still be out of luck.

I want so bad to post on their twitter something along the lines of "So if we were true fans or really excited about the game, you guys expected us to buy all three pre-orders and then return two of them? Or just do without having all the costumes? Thanks a lot..."
