Sorry if these questions have been answered already, I scanned a few pages and the search function didn't return anything useful...

Will there be system link / LAN play on this? I know 3 other kids who'll be in my dorms next year that want to get into this game too, so that would be awesome.
And is the online play subscription-based? I thought I heard that the North American version would have free online or something?

As far as I know it's not LAN capable, for that matter I can't think of any Wii game that is. You can play 2 Player split screen or Online.

Online pricing for NA is yet to be announced. There is a lot of speculation that it will be free but the more realistic outcome is that Capcom will charge just like they do in Japan.

Unfortunately the Wii can't actually do LAN in practical matter. The way Nintendo designed the Wii's WiFi capabilities means it always has to connect to the internet to work. It's the reason why the Conduit doesn't have it.

Anyway, now that that I can finally post, I can't wait for this game. I played through the demo many times and loved it, so I got the original MH on PS2 and am currently addicted to that (at the moment I'm trying to kill my first Rathalos). Shame that the online service was discontinued, so I still don't know the awesomeness of multiplayer Monster Hunting.

I think Monster Hunter for PSP (I can't remember which due to their "interesting" naming scheme) made it to the top of the German sales charts like a week ago, so I'd definitely say there's hope for MH3 in Europe.
