The claw works on the basis that you're using a sub-optimal finger (index finger) to perform a vital, but not particularly demanding function (camera control). Can you imagine trying to move your character with the index finger while your thumb is the one on the camera? It's the one disadvantage no one pays attention to when swapping the D-Pad and Analog stick from the Dual Shock orientation to the Xbox one, you can't just use your index finger to press a direction quickly for something like camera control or item switching when the D-pad is under the analog stick.Aren't Japanese gamers used to the claw by now?
Didn't Sven shoot those tweets down? Then again Sven seems to have a mixed history here, and in either case it's not unlike Capcom to have absurd expectations.I'm basing my "Capcom is not happy with the sales" thing off this thing:

Cooling down timeWhy doesn't the next monster immediately spawn after they kill a monster?
So was Tri just unique in not having that time buffer between monsters on arena quests? It feels more intense when there's no break in between.Cooling down time
It's in Tri too. You will have cooling time if there are more than 2 monsters. So was Tri just unique in not having that time buffer between monsters on arena quests? It feels more intense when there's no break in between.
Uragaan clearly pops out right after Barroth bites it in this vid: www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6-zD7eMPAU#t=1m55sIt's in Tri too. You will have cooling time if there are more than 2 monsters.
Ha you are right. My memory failed me. Both MHP3 and MH3G have buffer time thou.Uragaan clearly pops out right after Barroth bites it in this vid: www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6-zD7eMPAU#t=1m55s
I think, the installed based of the Wii was much larger then in the west compared to 3DS; moreover, they probably are adding the effect of 3G not being online ready too.Didn't Sven shoot those tweets down? At a japanese event?Man... was hoping for a localization announcement for 3G...:c
Now that I think about it, Tri does have that double Lagi event quest that has a buffer time between kills.Ha you are right. My memory failed me. Both MHP3 and MH3G have buffer time thou.

So... is it done for MH3G ? Never released in west ?

Clearly any fool with an opinion can be a contributor to Forbes. Would I like to see MH on PS360? Sure, I'd love to, but this is just a pathetic piece.
Forbes hires fanboy writers now? smh...
weird article, man
is Forbes really so desperate for gamer hits?
Trying to find the source but these people aren't even really hired. A lot of them aren't paid and Forbes doesn't fact-check their stuff unless it blows up. It's basically as if Kotaku just let a bunch of their commenters write.
Lot of marketing for MHTri? Seems I have missed that here in Germany. Was there, like a big push in the US?Did a million between Europe and US iirc. However that was with a lot of fanfare and marketing from Nintendo. It was something of a failure in Japan. The series just isn't nearly as popular on consoles.

The marketing in Germany was substabtial. It also sold fairly well over here. Even the PSP games did.
Thanks. Odd I missed the marketing in Germany.Indeed. Monster Hunter Tri had a fairly good amount of ads, but nothing spectacular, just more than all other third party games on Wii that are not Just Dance.

I think they confirmed online for MH4? But yeah, I don't see them skipping this unless the prior games completely tanked, I could see MH3G either skipped on due to a perception it'd do the worst due to the lack of online or any workaround, or not even skipped but being held back a stupidly long time. They SEEM to do reasonably well, and it's not as if localizing them should be expensive.Im pretty excited if and only if it come to the US and it has online. Believe that I wish it was on a platform with better graphics, but Im not upset it is coming out on 3DS.
Nope. Pure speculation at this point.I think they confirmed online for MH4? How difficult are MH games if you import Japanese version?
Is it playable?
Nope. Pure speculation at this point.
Hoped they'd have confirmed it for sure... though they'll likely need online outside of Japan, and the 3DS does seem more online capable than the DS and PSP were.Afaik they haven't comfirmed anything yet, not either local multiplayer, let alone online co-op; all we know - i.e. climbing and jumping - we can just guess watching official trailers.
Not that text heavy and you can memorise what objects are and menu positions for things you need. Combat is pretty simple. Plus there are plenty of resources online to find out the more difficult stuff.
I'm not fully expecting it, it WOULD be like Capcom to not bother bringing out one of the most popular game series in Japan just because it can't also be one of the most popular in NA or Europe, even if it still does really well, but it seems to me at the least mainline entries would be worth bothering with.Thanks. I have no faith that capcom will bring this or the previous game over so its good to know.

Kinda want to import a Japanese 3DS LL for this in case we never get it. I've already begun learning Japanese anyway...
Import it and get some games that have furigana overlay for the Kanji, that way if you don't know the reading for a Kanji you can easily look it up. Great way to learn.
I think there's a big difference between 3g and 4 in terms of importance. Also, there's not a lot of text so they could make it available digital only if they didn't want to do retail and spend little effort/money. It seems like a quick way to earn some money if they didn't want to do retail. It also seems like they are making changes to the game to make it more western friendly.Thanks.
