That picture is horrible not just because Jade is front and center, but also because YOU CAN'T SEE HALF THE DAMN PEOPLE, plus the aperture is set so that Jade is the only one in focus! Who the hell took that shot, Jade's mom?

And jizz. Unfortunately it appears staring at 50 Jade Raymond faces has caused my urethra to uncontrollably spew man fluid.

Seriously, I can't stop.

This thread is beyond repair. Game deserves so much better (more detailed OP, less stupidity, more interest in the game itself).

Yup, pretty much.

In other news, there's a strange article on 1up about how they were going to do an Assassin's Creed novel, but some pressure (threats?) from the descendants of actual, real-life assassins caused the author to bail out.

According to what i read, they wanted to change alot of stuff in the story but the author didn't approve of it, so instead he decided to bail out completely.

Rainbow Six is one of my favorite games so far this gen, but I can't buy this game unless it gets incredible reviews/gaf hype.

That's a much more likely scenario.

Since when has an entire team commonly received acknowledgment for a game? The only case I can think of where more than one or two people have been associated with a game is probably the Clover praise. Outside of that, no one praises all of Team Ninja for Ninja Gaiden, they praise Itagaki. No one complains about Konami holding back Castlevania, they complain about Iga doing that. No one praises any one at Nintendo for Zelda besides Miyamoto or Aonuma. Cliffy B and Mark Rein with Gears of War, Barlog and Jaffe for God of War, the list goes on and on.

You have no idea how much you made my point. All those people are in some way responsible for those games. Jade isn't. She's a producer. A pretty one, that's it.

And to the "over reacting" comments, it's not a joke because she's the only one that the media is paying any attention to. This is unlike most other games out there that are being showcased right now. She's the only producer that gets to speak this much for a high profile game. And why? Because she's pretty, no other qualification. No working hard to get up by doing game design on small projects or taking big risks, just being pretty.

It has consequences, and if I worked on the Assassin's Creed game (especially if I was one of the leads), I'd detest Ubisoft for promoting the game using Jade. It's cheap.

If you're that horny, there are plenty of hot(ter) women in soft/hard porn.

I don't get it, there have been assassins of many different races, nationalities, etc. over time. Why the hell would Indians that are supposedly decedents even care about the book?

(perhaps he means video game company) got a visit from descendants of actual, real-life assassins. They're members of the Ismaeli sect and led nowadays by the Agha Khan in India, and it seems these descendants were none-too-happy with the religious references being made.

Maybe a guy whose goals include racial and cultural equality and tolerance doesn't like the religion (he is head of) being linked to a bloody racial and cultural war.

I thought the article implying that the main character is supposed to be from their religious sect, i.e. an Islamic sect of assassins. I thought Altair was part of some Christian religious sect?

Edit: Nevermind, I was mistaken:

The player assumes the role of Altaïr (الطائر, Arabic, "The Flying One"), a member of the Hashshashin sect (the original "assassins")

...The Hashashim (also Hashishin, Hashashiyyin or Assassins) were a religious sect of Ismaili Shia Muslims from the Nizari sub-sect originating from post-Islamic Persia.

While Evan Wells does most of the press, I've seen interviews leading up to Uncharted with at least the following people from ND: Amy Hennig, Richard LeMarchand, Christophe Balestre, Jeremy Yates, and Bruce Straley. I think there are a few I'm leaving out as well.

We need more games in the world where you're allowed to climb all over all sorts of crap. I think I'm going to spend significant time just climbing to the top of buildings for fun (kinda like Crackdown but hopefully even awesomer).

He's very nice, actually.

Good. I plan on meeting both him and Jade in a couple of weeks. I hope it's not open bar though, or things are gonna get sloppy really quickly.

Well she did work in TV. Maybe they thought she would be best with the media, partly because she's attractive. It's not a new idea.

I'm passing on this one in favor of Uncharted, but only reluctantly. Do well, Assassin's Creed! I want to play you (and your 6 sequels) for years to come.

Where did the myth that you can't jump come from?

you can jump, but it's context sensitive...just like posting on GAF.

also, being a producer is hard work, you are responsible for the team, schedule, budget, interfacing with marketing, 1st parties, QA. That's the one thing I hate about the job, having no defined role means you are pretty much guaranteed to be stressed all the time :(

I'm seeing lots of pre-order cases in stores selling games here in Belgium. Ubisoft seems to be backing it strong over here.

peoples obsession with the producers of the game is pretty sad...Im just interested in the game...and there is nothing new in this thread. blah
