Honest Question:
Are the people that are most excited about Sony's VR headset not into PC gaming at all? .... I mean, why be more interested in this than Oculus Rift, which is being developed on an open platform, the PC? Is the tech better?
I own a PS4 and have lots of games on Steam. I'm just honestly a little confused as to why some people are really excited about this announcement...
I the only one who doesn't feel like having to move my head around nonstop to look around and prefer to be sitting comfortably in my couch my head resting back

You answered your own question. There are a lot of console players that have no interest in gaming on a PC. I have a ton of games on Steam too, but I prefer to play on a console. It's all a matter of preference. Not a big deal really.
60fps @ 1280x800 (16.7milliseconds added input delay)
120fps @ 640x400 (8.3ms added input delay)
240fps @ 320x192 (4.2ms added input delay)
Kinect only captures at 30fps (33.3ms added input delay)
Add image processing and rendering delay on top of that and it adds up. Higher framerates are obviously better for high speed tracking of the LEDs, less blur on each frame.
Sony will produce better VR games.
