You're missing out on some pretty good games, then:

I bet this update will fix that issue.
I honestly hope they give the option to turn it off wheb it does.
I pretty sure its going to be a buggy inconsistent mess.
We've been through this before. That is an unreasonable expectation. Different architectures, different codebases, different everything. How you want software engineering to work, and how it actually works, are completely at odds. Maybe next generation, if we continue with same architecture upgrades, is when you can expect this stuff to carryover. Before we get some relatively obscure playback features, how about we get the patching system that requires you to download every past patch along with the one you're applying. I want things that'll improve my interaction with my games first. The problem with this attitude is that we're at FW 1.7 and the PS4 is still lacking features that the PS3 has. That's something to not be ok with.

I wouldn't be surprised if that fix is included in this update. The ETA for the new patching system was April and this update seems to be coming out sometime in April. We've been through this before. I wonder what the "more" entails. Hopefully we get some good surprises.

I really want Suspend/Resume to take priority.
720p streaming and archiving will be nice.
But the bump in quality won't help that many people seeing as a lot of people currently don't even seem to even have the necessary upload speed to hit 540p. Their connections are still going to be ass and by extension their streams as well.
Does that HDCP thing means my cheap hdmi switch will work with the PS4?
That's correct, you'll be able to use the video editor on the PS4 and then export it to USB, it seems. Then do whatever you want with that video file.
Of course using a capture card and proper editing program would be the better option as it would give you total control over every step in the process and more robust editing.
I get those clicking noises on my PS4 as well.Speaking of updates, does everyone's PS4 make some really unnerving clicking noises when it updates, or just mine?
Also, where is "pause downloads" in this update?
it should work now, as long as your display device supports HDCP.
So preload coming to the PS4 in April?

720p streams? Awesome. They're ~600p now, right?
Really curious about the video editor too. I wonder how "rich" it'll be.
It's big enough of a feature for them to want to show it off at E3, I speculate.
Streaming right now isn't even 720p?
What the fuck? They referring to the user streaming, or watching streams? Or both?
Broadcasting via the share button is capped at 540p right now so any stream you watch via Live from PS won't be higher than 540p.Streaming right now isn't even 720p?

Xbox One streams 1280x720, 30 fps, ~2.5 Mbps on Twitch, For comparison, PS4 streams 960x540, 30 fps ~1.7 Mbps.
Out of curiosity, is streaming via the PS4 different in how it handles it (compression, etc) than PC forms? What speeds are we talking for uploading on it compared to PC if so?
It says they are adding 720p streaming in the blog postYeah 720p streaming in this would have been cool as well but I take what I can get.

In a later update.
I'd expect media would just be in a separate app, since Music Unlimited can supply background music as a separate app it should be fine.Media functionality will require a pretty big overhaul - I'm sure that's not coming until 2.0, I'm not sure why people are expecting any different. The fucking UI at this point essentially has no external media compatibility what so ever, discs aside. It's actually pretty insane.
youll also be able to export to and save the videos and screenshots you create by pressing the SHARE button to a USB drive.
2.5Mbps for Xbone
1.7Mbps for PS4
I think PC can do 1080p/30 if you are able to do ~3.5Mbps up
Now of the stuff left on the checklist, whats left?
For me, it's DLNA, MP3, and 3D Blu Support. Then done!
Edit: Oooh Suspend/Resume too
