This is how the gap closes.
No, it won't.
Not until Cortana Yandere Simulator ver.II, Hololens Edition.
This is how the gap closes.
As long as it isn't a create your own world game.
Gregg Mayles is boss. To me, he and Seavor are RARE.
Now we just need to know who is the composer.
Looks better than the game "Cascade" they cancelled. What was the point of rendering the vagina and other nudity for an MMO?
Banjo?!?!
It's not going to be Banjo, is it?
How many OG Rare guys are even still there? I am having a hard time figuring out how this is exciting.
Of course it's not Banjo 3. It's probably Banjo Threeie!
Unless it was viva piñata living room editionWhat's with the Hololens nonsense? As if they're going to make a big E3 announcement about a game that requires you to shell out the best part of a grand to play.
I know some of it is obviously joking but there are a couple of posts that seem to think it's really going to be a Hololens game which just seems fucking bizarre.

Yeah, I don't care what will be announced, as nothing of note has been created for a good long while from RareWare.
And before people point out that I'm being unfairly dismissive, I know that I am. I don't understand why everyone is so excited about this bit of "news", especially with how there are not only so many things that are going against thie new, unproven team, but most of their output has been underwhelming at best.
If they were working on Banjo, I feel like Steve Mayles wouldn't have left in September of 2014 to make a new IP based off Banjo...What Rare have already said about their project so far makes me rule out Banjo-Threeie. And I don't think Playtonic, who seem to know what it is, would be quite as confident about Yooka-Laylee if Rare were developing a true sequel to Banjo-Tooie for them to compete with.
We'll see soon enough though.
Robin Beanland with support from Jamie Hughes.
Precisely. I don't care who is attached to this project, as we are dealing with a video game studio that has been sorely mishandled & has released a butt-load of bad software. So you acknowledge that you're being unfairly dismissive, but wonder why others aren't being unfairly dismissive too?
Exactly. People still thinking this is Banjo 3 can't see it yet, but Rare has most definitely moved on from their past. They've been talking in that kind of tone for many years. Simon has JUST SAID it again, "Rare is about new things". They want to make a heavy hitter IP, something that blows up and becomes huge. They've been trying to do that since Viva Piñata until they kinda had it with KS, but now it's dead so they'll try something new. As a fan of their history I don't like any of this, but that's who they are now. I don't expect them to work on their classic IP anytime soon, if ever. We might see Banjo/Battletoads eventually, but it won't be from Rare.
Oooooooh
There's no other composer left, is there?
Could be someone new, who knows.
I'm both excited and worried. Excited because I know I will love it ! Worried because I want people to love it too, and it's the difficult part : The "It's not Rare anymore" thing is still here :-/
Just look at Viva Pinata, it was a great game but it wasn't what people expected from Rare (same for Nuts and Bolts). Difficult time for Rare. I hope they will rise again. They deserve it !
I was waiting for this comment. Not real Rare thread without someone pointing out there aren't same people working as 20 years ago, so it can't be good game obviously. There can't be new talent...How many OG Rare guys are even still there? I am having a hard time figuring out how this is exciting.

I have to admit I have no idea ND's situations, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have some changes too since early days. But still it's not proof game is bad if they have changed staff. In his defence, look at Naughty Dog. How many original staff members are still there? Who's going to get excited about their next project? Huh? HUH?

To be fair though, Donkey Kong Country isn't really that great and any game taking inspiration from it won't be particularly good either.
To be fair.
ít's ok to be happy with a Rare no Kinect game but what talented people left at Rare?
I think this is probably like to be excited by a new Konami game because they made Suikoden in the past.
Yeah, I guess it went over my head.I don't think you quite picked up on the subtlety of the sarcasm there.
