Rock Band 4 full setlist revealed

I don't even know what is even available in the base game because of every list I've looked at says it's combining the set list with songs available on GHTV. And GHTV is something I have no interest in with their approach to how you pay to play specific songs. Are they even doing traditional DLC with that game?
No they aren't. You can pay to play a song infinitely (it's still being streamed, so I assume you lose it when the servers are killed). Normally you spend in-game currency to play GHTV songs on demand. The free plays will be "TV station"-esque channels that play some songs randomly and you just jump in.

Not a concept I care about at all. I like having all my songs stored on my system, that way I have them forever and play them both offline and online.

I have to agree with the people saying this looks like the weakest setlist in a mainline game to date. I didn't realize that there were so few remaining unannounced songs left and was expecting big things from the final reveal but man... I'd put not only all the other numbered games above this but Lego Rock Band's setlist as well (now I am even more bummed that I can no longer export Lego Rock Band), and that is even after considering Lego's lack of metal.

I'll be getting it whenever BB gets more Xbone full band kits in on their site but I have to say that I am pretty disappointed. I also thing I might not have ever exported Rock Band 2, I just went through a ton of stuff on my download history on Xbox.com (my 360 is in another country atm so I can't check it) and don't see it, so that sucks too.

Not sure if you are looking to preorder from BB or are willing to wait until after launch, but it has been my experience that once they sell out of something for online preorders that you will have to go in store and preorder it there. They allocate a different amount of units for preorders for online with store pick up and for people who physically preorder in store.

I'm not currently in the country or else I would go to a store to try to preorder. My hope is that some people will cancel their preorders right before launch but I don't imagine it is too likely. People do it with Amazon since there is no charge against you before it ships but with Best Buy that is a different beast.

I hear ya. I've just never had any luck with something that says "sold out online" showing up again during the preorder period. And actually, BB is more on the Amazon side of things now. They do put an initial hold on your card, but it comes off a few days later and you aren't actually charged for anything until it ships or you pick up in store.

Really not impressed with the setlist but Metropolis alone is enough to make me want to buy the game.

Put more Dream Theater in.

OK then. Vocalists confirmed casuals. Thanks.

Cmon people, there's a reason it's not "Guitar Band". :) I actually enjoy singing vocals and playing bass with other people. And it's not like any of the major karaoke games have come out on current gen consoles.

The fact that they have a decent backlist of DLC songs from previous decades puts this ahead of GHL to me. I don't understand how Activision is going to charge full price for a game where you don't even own the songs to play whenever you like.

Surface of Me

I'm not an NPC. And neither are we.
Would have preferred I Sat by the Ocean to My God is the Sun. Hopefully a lot more of that album is released as DLC.

Its pretty good, I knew they would probably have more poppy stuff. Im glad Ill have Rock Band 1 and 2 imports tho.

After seeing the full setlist for the first time, I'm definately out.

I had a load of DLC for RB3 but it was on Xbox 360, and I'm now playing on a PS4, so I've basically lost it all. And having to basically replace that with this list makes me just want to save the money.

I'll stick to playing RB3 'til my guitar falls apart, thanks.

Really meh list..
But TBH I don't know many of these songs from just reading the band/title and I will happily explore them in the game (and realize I know them)..

There are another 10 songs for preorders right? I think it was PS4-only retail and/or PS+ digital? Or are those two different DLC packs?
Also, can I even preorder the game in the EU PS Store? Last time I checked it wasn't possible, I hope we will still get the PS+ bonus songs...

I'm not crazy about the Rock Band 4 setlist, but that's okay because I entered Rock Band 3 only knowing 3 songs (Misery Business, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Crazy Train) and left it with my favorite setlist in any music game ever. In fact, I loved it SO much that having my least favorite song of all time (Free Bird) didn't hurt it at all!

Anyway, these are the songs I know from the Rock Band 4 setlist, ranked in how excited I am for them (in order, of course)

OMG YES PARAMORE
Paramore – Still Into You

Super Awesomely Excited
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - The Impression That I Get
Fall Out Boy – Centuries
The Killers – Somebody Told Me

Very Excited
Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk
Foo Fighters – The Feast and the Famine
Cake – Short Skirt/Long Jacket
Dream Theater – Metropolis, Pt. 1: The Miracle and The Sleeper

Moderately Excited
Aerosmith – Toys in the Attic
Rush – A Passage to Bangkok
Avenged Sevenfold – Hail to the King
The Cure – Friday, I’m in Love
Fleetwood Mac – You Make Loving Fun
4 Non Blondes – What’s Up?

Meh
Queens of the Stone Age – My God is the Sun
The Who – The Seeker

Urgh
Judas Priest – Halls of Valhalla

The rest of the songs I either know of the band/artist or never heard of it at all. I'm not listening to them until the game comes out, so I can be experience them for the first time through the magic of Rock Band! Ahhhhhhhhhh soooooo excited

This list isn't bad but could be better. Lot of these songs seem like they fit. Uptown Funk and Tongue Tied are the most surprising as I wouldn't expect it to be in RB.

List doesnt do much for me but there are some notables for me. Are we going to have access to songs from the past games? I havent really been keeping up with this series since RB2.

I'm disappointed there's not much in the way of female-fronted bands, especially ones which haven't featured in Rock Band yet. Marnie Stern, Speedy Ortiz, Janelle Monae (not that song that featured her, doesn't count!) or...Perfect Pussy? I mean, does anyone care about Paramore any more?

More Neko Case and Neko Case-fronted New Pornographer songs. And more Metric. Hustle Rose would be awesome.

And Stars. I want Stars in Rock Band. I'd kill to be able to duet Elevator Love Letter or Your Ex-Lover is Dead with my wife.

The Sounds and Tegan & Sara already have songs from the past games. Would love to see more from those two acts.

I guess I should lose all hope for A Girl Like You by The Smithereens to be featured on Rock Band...

I know someone already told you but it's great when you can tell someone a song they really want is in the game :V

Harmonix should probably get the catalog song search back up on the site.

Rock Band 1 export doesn't require a code.

Green Day export is no longer supported, but the whole soundtrack for that game was made available as DLC.

There is no Beatles export.

Yes, you need Rock Band 3 to import Rock Band 2's setlist, but please look at the link I posted a few posts up.

I just went ahead and exported RB2 in RB3 and it worked fine. I had previously redeemed the code for the extra RB2 songs, but never exported to RB3 because well.. RB3 kind of sucked IMO. But hey, what the heck, I exported and I'm optimistic that it's worth having the extra songs in RB4.

The RB4ADAPTER code for amazon has apparently already expired on the 25th. Kind of annoying, I might not have bothered with any of this if I didn't think I could get a decent deal on the adapter. I figured the 10 dollar export was the dicier proposition so I went ahead and did that first. Nowhere that posted the code said anything about September 25. The yahoo article just said "pre-order". Off to a bad start with this game for me already Harmonix.

Huh. I didn't know I had another account here! :p

Man, those were seriously some of the things I was hoping to see in RB4 or it's DLCs. I'm amazed Stars hasn't made it in yet, they have some of the best synthrock sound out there. Particularly with songs like I Died So I Could Haunt You, Theory of Relativity, and From the Night out there now. Ah well. Maybe if keys ever come back...

It's a pretty meh tracklist overall, but there's definitely some stuff I'm going to love on it. Always excited to see Gin Blossoms and The Cure. Live, REM, and the Protomen should be fun too. Would've loved to have seen some Stars, Motion City Soundtrack, Metric, some Circa Survive... it's a nice variety, but just not a lot of what I was looking for, unfortunately. Time to go buy some more DLC to prepare!

Maybe someday, in a perfect world, they'll finally get some more Bad Religion into one of these games.

I'd love more Bad Religion... or punk in general. Or metal. They literally left out an entire genre in this game (punk) and almost entirely left out metal too. The two genres in this game that in my opinion the two most fun to play! Crazy.

Is there confirmation that my Ion drums for PS3 will work with the PS4?

They are not supported.

... though there's a guide floating around out there that requires tearing a wireless drumset apart and using that to trick the system into thinking your IONs are regular RB drums.

... huh. Probably not worth it. TBH I was hoping to sell these things, figured I'd be able to get more if they had PS4 support

I used to bug Stars about Rock Band DLC back in the day on their website. Apparently they had plans to do it, but who knows what happened.

It didn't say a date because it looks like it was limited by amount. They ran through their allotment way before they thought they would.
