How the hell can I use Murakumo without the stupid mask¿ I hate her voice and personality with that thing on. But I'm in love with the shy girl hiding behind it.

I think you need to hold select before the stage loads, it's in one of the loading screen hints.

Hold Select while the mission is loading.

Oh right, forgot when Neogaf extension for Chrome refreshes with new posts, it doesn't include the next page.

Thank goodness I had to hurry to class & didn't have time to install it, only grab it online. Deleted it off my system before it could be installed.

It's specifically the Rainbow Panties, the "Confused" emoji, and the "Censored" emoji. Everything else is fine.

We have a support ticket open with Sony to figure out what the problem is, and will be working to get this fixed a.s.a.p. We'll keep you updated.

Great to hear.

Ruh roh. Didn't see any of these posts yesterday, but as I do every week I downloaded all the DLC alongside Bon Appetit. Installed everything but didn't get around to playing the game, I just exited once the opening video started.

How screwed am I?

Bon Appetite still works, Shinovi Versus is now stuck on the checking DLC screen.

Pretty much as screwed as I am right now lol

Is there a way to delete just the DLC? Is that the stuff on the content manager?

Deleting the bubble will delete:
1) The game (unless it is a cart)
2) Save data
3) Patches
4) Downloaded DLC

so in theory, I think it should work, but you will want to back up your save data to the cloud, and there is no other way to back up ONLY the save data and no way to delete ONLY one of those items, just all in one go.

Isn't it possible to copy the game to your computer, then remove the "addcont" folder, then copy it back to your Vita and then download all the other DLCs? Sounds like it should work. Make an extra backup of the game before if it would mess everything up.
And the European version has the proper name and all, but I won't risk it.

You actually can indeed back up ONLY save data to your computer via Content Manager. I outlined this on our forums, but for your reference as well:

- Connect your Vita to your computer.
- Load up Content Manager Assistant (which you can download from here: http://cma.dl.playstation.net/cma/win/en/index.html)
- Run Content Manager on your Vita.
- Select PS Vita System --> PC.
- Select Applications.
- Select PS Vita.
- Select SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS and touch the Copy button.
- Before touching "OK," check the box marked "Saved Data only."

I don't see this option. Physical copy. No PS+.

It should definitely be there regardless. You have to actually select the game first, and choose "Copy," as if you were copying the entire game to your computer. It's on the confirm screen -- with "OK" and "Cancel" -- that the "Saved Data only" check-box pops up.

If it's not there, then I suspect you might be in the wrong spot? Take a screenshot of your screen and post it here, and we may be able to walk you through it.

Didn't realise there was an issue with the DLC. I downloaded the game but haven't played it, and the DLC was still in my download list waiting to be installed. I cancelled the White/pink/black panties so I should be ok for now right?

In the future, once this gets sorted, do I find DLC in the PSN store or from within the game? PSN store seems not easy to filter for DLC

That's the right spot all right. So weird... I honestly can't explain why you wouldn't have the option there.

Other people are seeing it, right? Or no?

My vita hates me D:

You know, I haven't put too many hours into Versus yet. It might just be better to delete the whole saved data I have for it and just start over.

So if I delete that data for Versus, it should remove those dlc from Bon Appetit too right?

Wow. Crap. This is totally my bad. Apparently, the ability to copy *just* save data is not available on retail Vitas -- only on the ones we use for testing.

I'm very sorry to get your hopes up.

I've never seen a "saved data only" box for any game, ever. The inability to back up a digital game's save without backing up the whole game has even been a big complaint for a while now. Maybe it's a devkit-only thing?

edit: Looks like it is, which annoys me now because so many people have been wanting that feature and it's already implemented but only for devkits.

What's strange is, the DLCs in question actually function just fine in Bon Appetit. Which is... very odd. But either way, Bon Appetit is not in any danger at all here.

I think if you delete Shinovi Versus, however, it will remove the DLC items from both games, yes.

Ahh, that's kind of disappointing. Perhaps Sony will put that in a future update...one day.

Can't you just upload your save to the cloud, delete the game, reinstall and then download your save back to the vita?

Lyte Edge

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
Uploaded my save to PSN, deleted the game, then popped the cart back in and downloaded all the DLC with the exception of this week's releases.

The game still won't go past the DLC check screen. Maybe it has to do with Bon Appetit?

I deleted all the data again and with nothing downloaded, the game still hangs at the DLC screen.
Am assuming that rainbow DLC is still tied to Bon Appetit.

Deleted everything again and did not use my uploaded save. The game loaded. So the Panty DLC corrupts save files.

Yep. We've just been running some tests in the office. If you have Bon Appetit installed, you'll need to delete both it AND Shinovi Versus in order to clear out the DLC. Or... well, you can try this, which we've confirmed *on a retail Vita* definitely works:

Step 1: Use Content Manager to copy Shinovi Versus (and Bon Appetit, if you also have that) to your PC. Don't worry about backing up saved data or anything -- just back up the game in its entirety.

Step 2: Locate the folder containing this backed-up game on your computer. Figuring out which game is which is pretty difficult if you use Content Manager a lot, but if you check the date modified on each folder and go into the newest one, you should be in the right place.

Step 3: Find the subfolder inside called "addcont" and delete it. This is the DLC folder for the game.

Step 4: Use Content Manager to copy the game back to your Vita, overwriting what's already there.

As long as you ONLY delete the "addcont" folder, the game you copy back over to your Vita will be exactly as you left it (save data and all), just minus the DLC.

Then just redownload and reinstall all your DLC (minus Rainbow Panties, Confused and Censored) and you should be able to play the game without any trouble.

NOTE THAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE BON APPETIT INSTALLED ON YOUR VITA, YOU WILL NEED TO DO THE SAME FOR THAT GAME. If the DLC exists in Bon Appetit, it'll bleed back into Shinovi Versus and cause the problem to repeat itself.

Ryan is writing up a more highly detailed version of this right now, which I'll post when he's done. But this has been confirmed, on retail Vitas, to be an effective way of excising the bugged DLC from your system without deleting your save data.

-Tom

Ah, here we go. Ryan's step-by-step list:

1. Connect your Vita to your computer.
2. Load up Content Manager Assistant (which you can download from here: http://cma.dl.playstation.net/cma/win/en/index.html).
3. Run Content Manager on your Vita.
4. Select “Copy Content.”
5. Select “PS Vita System --> PC.”
6. Select “Applications.”
7. Select “PS Vita.”
8. Select “SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS” and touch the Copy button. This will copy over your core game data, including all your DLC, to your PC.
a. If you have Bon Appetit! on your Vita, copy that over as well in the same manner – then delete Bon Appetit! from your Vita. Otherwise, the bugged DLC will still be there, since Bon Appetit! uses it too.
9. Now to get rid of your Versus DLC on your PC. Open Documents\PS Vita\APP. (If you have a Mac, that should use the same file directory system for Vita games, so you should be able to follow along with the instructions below.)
10. Within the \APP folder, open the most recently modified sub-folder.
11. Within that most recently modified sub-folder, you’ll see at least one folder beginning with "PC", followed by two more letters and five numbers. The folder for Shinovi Versus will always be "PCSE00398". Open that.
12. Within PCSE00398, there’s a folder called "addcont". Delete that.
a. If you have Bon Appetit!, it’ll be in another folder called “PCSE00471.” Delete that folder’s “addcont” folder as well.
13. On the Vita, quit out of Content Manager, then open Content Manager back up again. Choose “Copy Content” again, but this time, on the next screen, choose “PC --> PS Vita System.”
14. Choose to copy Shinovi Versus (and afterwards, if you have it, copy Bon Appetit! in the same way). If the system asks whether you want to overwrite any existing content for either title, say yes.
15. You should now be able to boot Senran Kagura and access your existing save data. You’ll unfortunately need to download any DLC you have from the Store again, but you can do so without charge from your personal Download List on the PlayStation Store.
16. Please stay away from the Rainbow Panties, Emoji Set, and Accessory Set 2 (which includes the Emoji Set) until further notice. We’re working to get those items fixed now.

Lyte Edge

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
Was able to get Shinovi Versus working again with my backed up save. This is after deleting all content:

1. Inserted cart and installed game
2. Started game, created new save and quit
3. Redownloaded all DLC (except this week's!)
4. Started the game and let everything install
5. Quit the game and downloaded my back up save

Oh noes, I just got hit by Rainbow Panties bug.

Darn....

I don't really want to redownload 20 hairstyle DLCs...

Will there be an automated fix?

Edit: Bit the bullet and did it. I hate the Vita's download list.
