La-Mulana - 2,99 $ (best metroidvania ever made, just buy it, don't question it)

YS origin - 5,99 $
YS chronicle + - 5,99 $
YS oath in Felghana - 5,99 $

Should i really tell you why you MUST buy these amazing games?

Picked up the Hexcells pack due to this thread and it is pretty awesome. Almost finished with the first game. Scratches the picross itch for me.

I didn't see any mention of Super House of Dead Ninjas yet. It's only 50% off, but still a good value for $3.49. It's a fast paced action platformer with elements of Ninja Gaiden, Super Meat Boy and Spelunky.

Recently discovered Bleed myself, bought it for $5 before the sale and thought it was worth every penny. It's an insta-buy at $1.24.

The Hexcells Complete Pack ($3.59) contains two games that are high up on my GOTY list.

A must-have for fans of puzzle games.
Why are these so good? Looking at the trailers, they just seem like minimalist Minesweeper-style games

Excellent speed-running 3D platfomer with a wonderful art style

Yup, who could resist a slow-motion triple-jumping bullet-hell acrobatic platformer/shooter?

how the.... how did you even excepted something like that? Just watch one video and you'll know that this game is the shit! Anyway, you're right, everyone, get YS!

And man, you think YS was hard? Play La-Mulana, you seriously won't regret it

I'll chip in two games here;

Drox Operative - 50% off - A sort of action RPG where you play a single spaceship while living in a set of star systems where bigger factions are more or less playing a 4X strategy game for control of the territory. You're role is the squeaky wheel-you take quests, ally with factions, and push towards your own wincon by manipulating everyone else. Like any good action RPG, there are tons of randomly generated loot, levels, and enemies to fight. There's no dumpster fire story or plot or scripted missions to ruin everything like they always do, it's all randomly generated and it's all awesome.

Space Rangers HD - 75% off - This game is another space RPG with a similar isometic view, but it features a huge open world galaxy with a extreme variety of gameplay you can engage in, ranging from text adventures to trading to piracy. It's a truly free space RPG adventure game with limitless possibilities and nearly endless gameplay. There's a finite beginning and end to a campaign but again you're not dealing with the game serving up some massive turdfest of scripted missions to get there. It kind of just happens.

Is Chrome's search function broken or is there really no mention of Nihilumbra in the entire thread? It's dirt cheap and it was my biggest surprise of last winter sale and all year. Went in with no expectations and played it through in one sitting. I think this is genuinely the only game I can honestly say I've been blown away by.

I believe it's because it has been cheaper before, but thanks for mentioning this game! I added it to my wishlist :O

And it was originally a mobile game!

Such a great platformer. Void mode is insanely hard, I could barely get past the first few levels.

guys, I want to get into Ys, so which one should I start first?
I played Oath in Felghana first and it was great. Origin might work too, seems to be a lot easier with more story, though with a tower you're ascending rather than having an overworld.

And man, you think YS was hard? Play La-Mulana, you seriously won't regret it
When you're buried under a pile of notes 100+ hours in and you still haven't beaten the game, you'll regret it. :p Difficult for other reasons though.

wow, man you really tried then... but seriously, 100 hours must means that you enjoyed it, if you didn't like spending so much time trying to figure out puzzle, why spend 100 hours?

I finished it in around 40-50h (my save is at 22h, but i reloaded and died many time, so it's not acurate) and i freaking loved it, can't wait for la-mulana 2

I was just very stubborn about trying to figure as much as possible out for myself, skipping both manual and guide... big mistake, lol. But yes, aside from some of the puzzle design it's a very high-quality game. Fantastic soundtrack in particular.

This thread is going to gain a lot more use tomorrow, as it'll be the last unique day for Daily Deals and the last Flash and Community Sales tomorrow. Any last minute suggestions from people to include as I stop working on it tonight? I will add a lot more myself in a few hours, but want to see if any last minute recommendations first?

Alright, going to get some rest but going to try and update the list one more time when I wake up in the morning in my time zone. Tomorrow is the last unique daily deal, and last community vote/flash deals, so this thread should gain use very soon for most people.

Alright, final update push. My goal is to get the list done with no further edits a bit after today's dailies and community vote are revealed, as this will be the last day of unique deals (last day will be an encore). If anyone has last minute suggestions, now's the time, going to work on the list for about 90 more minutes and then it'll be 'complete' for those who have some spare game buying itches.

Ok so this might be a deal for a very niche audience but I was looking for space sims last night and discovered that Steam sells Tachyon: The Fringe which is currently $3.39 (66% off). According to Enhanced Steam that's the lowest price this game has been so far. So what is this game and why should you care? Let me quote the opening paragraphs of an article from Destructoid to answer that:
Here is everything you need to know about Tachyon: The Fringe:

The main character is voiced by Bruce Campbell, and he pilots what essentially amounts to a Battlestar Galactica Viper ship.

I.E., nerd heaven.

It's also a legitimately entertaining game in its own right, but the few times I've heard this game mentioned positively on message boards, the words "Bruce Motherf*cking Campbell" are not usually far away. Fans don't focus on the branching storyline, or the hybridized flight sim/action game elements, or, you know, anything about the actual gameplay. Bruce Campbell. Battlestar Galactica. Period.

Hell, perhaps that enough. Tachyon is less of a mindblowing cult classic than it is a surprisingly entertaining artifact of a practically dead game genre. Hit the jump to find out why.

The article continues if you'd care to learn more. Also note that while it supports a max resolution of 1024x768 by default you can use a Glide wrapper like nGlide to make it run at higher widescreen resolutions. This PC Gamer article explains how to do that and mod in some other things you might be interested in. Also note that you can buy it in a bundle with 4 other Novalogic flight sims (and 1 tank sim) for $10.19 (66% off as well.)

If that's not enough, you can also buy the NovaLogic Everything Pack which contains all of those plus a bunch of Delta Force games. That's 15 games for $23.79 (66% off). Are all those games good? I've no idea but at $1.58 per game it was too good a deal for me to personally pass up in the middle of the night when I was half-crazed from lack of sleep. I did browse through them and they seem to have generally positive user reviews on Steam so take for what you will.

So in conclusion, Tachyon: the Fringe. Bruce Campbell: Viper pilot. Give it a look.

This man does his research.
Word of warning: La Mulana will invariably require hints to progress, some portions are that obtuse.

However, if you take notes and think like an archaeologist, you'll be able to do most things on your own.

Well, I've got enough from selling trading cards that I might as well buy a couple $1-or-less games...

How bad is Hydrophobia? Admittedly, I'd be buying it more to check out the water physics in action than for the actual gameplay.
