Broken Sword Triple Pack... does anyone know if the Shadow of the Templars Director's Cut includes the original game? IIRC, they changed the voice acting and art, right?

You need to fix your graphics driver settings or something. This is what that building should look like in the demo (which does not have ultra textures btw):

Never even heard of moneybookers. I think it's implied what isn't allowed by the list you just mentioned. If it's one of the listed, it's allowed. Everything else isn't.

If you're having that much issue finding a funding source, just buy a Visa gift card from Walmart/Target/etc and use that.

It is allowed on Steam in Europe but not the US. There are other payment methods that are available in Europe but arent allowed in the US but for those it lists them on Steams payment webpage that they are not allowed, but nothing like that for moneybookers.

I'm just looking for a non-paypal option that doesnt require any of my bank information that allows some friends to send me money so I can gift them uncensored games or games that are much cheaper on US stores.

Original is only on GOG, Steam is DC only I believe.

I don't feel like plunking down $60 on the full Kalypso pack, but there are a couple games I'm interested in. Does anyone know if Dungeons or Patrician IV are any good?

I just tried the Dungeons demo the other day and it was pretty bad. First of all, forget Dungeon Keeper. It's nothing like that. Basically you want to set up a dungeon that makes heroes happy, which in the first level means setting big piles of gold all over the place for them to loot. Then once they have the gold and are full of "soul energy", you beat them unconscious and stick them in a jail cell so you can extract all their soul energy.

But the way you accomplish this is just awful. You can only directly control a single character, so you are personally responsible for attacking every hero. The heroes make a beeline for the exit once they have the gold and if they reach the exit, you lose the gold and the soul energy. And a new hero enters your dungeon literally every minute. It's nonstop tedious micromanagement as you send your character far enough away that the hero will choose gold over attacking you, then send your character running after the hero before he escapes. And you will be doing this literally every minute of the game, in between running all over the map to accomplish other goals.

Yeah, I know that. What I mean is, does the DC version let you turn all the "enhancements" off?
No. They didn't change that much, though, it's basically the same game. The old art is still there. You get some additional art, however, mostly in the form of character portraits during conversations and of course the new Nico sections. The amount of changed lines is countable on one hand, I believe. I'll leave it to you to find out which, I'm sue there's a list somewhere.

Oh. Outside of Paypal, can't help you on that. I'm assuming you realize paypal doesn't need your banking info and you have other reasons for not using them.

just wondering: is that your screenshot?

Me and a friend of mine are searching a nice online shooter game from steam. We mostly played Halo and recently both upgraded our PCs and got steam. He pointed out Section 8: Prejudice. What do you thing about that? What is the consensus on this game?

I'm going to be spewing if From Dust registers on Steam, it's only $11.95 on GMG. It's the first time I've pre-ordered as well. Oh well at least I get a TF2 hat (I don't play TF2 and have no idea what it does)?

If you are new to steam, then tf2 is probably the first thing you should try out since it's free, also l4d is quite a good co-op zombie shooter as well, both games support multiplayer and you can play with your friends.

you wear it.

I"m very tempted to buy Frozen Synapse... I don't really need any more games but the draw of Steam sales is too strong >_<

Thinking I might be able to justify it more if I convince my bro to buy the other copy!

You trade it for Portal.

Got the issues sorted out with my bank, and I'm the proud owner of both Red Orchestra 2: Digital Deluxe Edition and From Dust for a clean $45.91.

Sutton Dagger said:
lol. I guessed as much, I meant is it only an aesthetic thing, or do those hats increase stats etc? Hopefully I can trade it for something, though it probably won't be worth anything.

it's just a plain old hat, it does not change gameplay mechanics whatsoever, although some hats are valuable so check the tf2 wiki to see if they are rare.

Darksiders II beta was added to the registry, so that will likely be on Steam once the game is out.

Also, there is a listing for a retail version of the Quakecon pack.

Stallion, LovingSteam, Kirby, does anyone know this? I assume it's available on Google but I'm not sure what to search for. A bunch of people (or one person) bugged LovingSteam about it last time, so I assume those people are all willing to share the link now, right? Right? :P

Weren't you one of the ones asking for it when LovingSteam had it?

*edit* Yep, you wanted power for the people!

I don't need, I just believe in giving power to the people.

Thanks very kindly to someone who PMed it to me. Quote this thread to see the link. If there's any problem with posting this link, I'd appreciate it if a mod PMed me.

Played a bit of Patricians IV. Exactly what I expected from the game and this is very good. :)
A very calm stress-free game about buying low and selling high, acording to reviews there will be some drama and sea fights later on, but anyway, I like just being able to manage my trade ships. When I have a lot of ships and be able to send them everywhere, I think stuff will be really good.
Right now, it is a nice smooth experience.

I am actually a bit weary of when sea battles become a thing, something that kind of turns me off from Europa Universallis 3 is that I can never properly ignore war and just focus on diplomacy and commerce. I hope the battles on this don't distract too much from the commercial-empire building.

Well I guess the tool won't be around much longer, more people using it = more exposure = being blocked.

I'm now 100% convinced that 3rd parties having their own shit should never happen.

I decided to finally try Ruse and they make you sign in with your ubi account just to play the game, no way past it. 1st and 2nd strike, 1 for making me remember another useless account and 2 for forcing me to use it when I'm playing single player.

3rd strike was when I tried both of my Ubi accounts and neither would work. If they had stuck strictly with Steam I could have been 20 minutes into playing it by now.

That's presumably what LovingSteam said, but people on GAF hounded him when he didn't share it, if I recall correctly.

At any rate Valve already knows about it and has already posted a series of registry entries that were like STOP LOOKING AT THIS OR ELSE. :P

Ok so you you understand the logic of why it shouldn't be posted, and you know we have been warned about using it yet you still decide to post it?

I ran into a bit of trouble with Patricians IV and Kalypsos's sign-in thingy too. It would somehow be in the same "space" as the Steam layer which made my computer very confused if I was clicking on something in the screen or on Steam.
Just a bit of unecessary frustration when you not even began to play the game.

OMG at the draw distance and pop-in on AssCreed 2, its terribleeeeee

Do your settings reset everytime you start the game up again? That happened to me in AC2 and Brotherhood for whatever reason, they would just go back to default on startup. Make sure it's not that.

Nope. After googling it seems to be a normal issue, its all over the steam forums.

Just crappy porting, no way to edit the ini files etc. To be fair almost every console port has that "circle of defition" around your character where shadows and objects get more detailed as you approach them, but with this game is ridiculous, holy shit. Im planting flowers as i walk.

I don't think it's fair for people to give LovingSteam grief about it until he shared it, and for others to now do the same thing he used to do without sharing. :P And with Valve already being aware of it I don't see a problem. If they want to block it they'll block it.
