Steam Summer Sales 2014 |OT2| The valiant never taste of death but once

you shouldn't really do that, you know, you can't guarantee it, not only it didn't make me cry, I got no feels and I didn't particularly like it.
Some jokes were nice, that's it.
sorry for being party pooper yet again (><)

Felt the same with it. All this talk about "I GOT THE FEELS MAN" and "you gonna cry" made my excited for it. And then... nothing.

Again, thanks everyone. My questions in this thread are going to seem very novice-level because these aren't the sorts of games I play, but they are the sorts of games my girlfriend plays. I just gave her a PC, and as a long time 3DS gamer, she's experiencing PC gaming for the first time.

She loves story-driven games a la Mass Effect and adventure games like Zelda.

While I don't personally think it's a Zelda clone, many people often compare a small indie game called Anodyne to the 2D top down Zelda games. It's sort of good, but it does have some problems.

But... I wanted to sell all those games on Steam Trades :/

Sorry. I'll fix my mistake:

The story won't blow your mind, but it's guaranteed to make you cry if you have a warm human heart, instead of being a cold heartless monster like a GAFfer whom I'm not going to name (but their username is very similar to "Arthea", and in fact it's them). It's a very emotional one, and I loved it.

Again, only play this if you don't like kicking puppies and stealing candy from kids.

How does the store lockout happen?

Adding a new credit card/purchase option locks it out for 7 days as a safety precaution against any kind of credit fraud. Gift cards can be a pain in the ass to verify. If you're using a credit card or bank card, you can usually verify it pretty quickly.

For the Summer Sale contest, you need to score at least one point to qualify for the random 30 team members get their top three wishlist games when their team wins.

Beyond that crafting badges gives more experience points for your Steam level, which basically just means more slots for your friend list and chances of you getting a booster pack of cards.

So if you don't care about getting more slots for friends and selling cards are just a nice little by-product of playing games normally and nothing more, then aye, worthless to you.

Thank you for explaining.

Says the gift had already been redeemed:(

Ah I think it's because I tried raffling it in a mystery game raffle and the winner already had it. It's still in my inventory and says it's not claimed. Add me to steam and I'll send it to you directly.

Agreed. The music is moody and accompanies the dialogue nicely but it definitely didn't make me tear up.

It's not fair! A giveaway only for people who have given a lot of games away. What, are they supposed to just come in here and start giving away games left and right as their first posts? Who would ever do such a thing?

The Witcher 2 might be a good option. The easier difficulty makes that game pretty approachable.

Also suggest Gone Home. Some people don't really like it, but it's got about as much gameplay as To The Moon and it contains far better writing.

The story won't blow your mind, but it's guaranteed to make you cry. It's a very emotional one, and I loved it.

If you're willing to experience something different from the usual, I'd give it a chance despite not being a fan of this kind of games. It has a couple of funny jokes and nicely written characters. Of course, if you only care about more traditional games, you may not find this enjoyable, as there isn't much in the gameplay department apart from walking around and solving the occasional puzzle. Maybe you could play it together with your gf?

I'm going to jump on the party pooper train and say 90% of the humor in To The Moon was absolutely terrible, and that the characters were all basically written the exact same way. There's no differentiation in speaking style between a five year old kid and a sixty year old woman.

How rude of you mcfishstick. Here Macintosh!!, enjoy.

Really? Rude?
It's up to the giver to decide who they want their game to go to, and if they don't want it to go to a moocher that never contributed to SteamGAF, that's their choice.

Yes, the 3 month rule is hard on people that have given more games away over a longer period of time, but it's not like every giveaway has been megagivers either.

Definitely not Rhaknar, nobody does that as a junior.

So Battleblock Theater...is it only two-player co-op? I tried playing with a couple friends, but one of us couldn't join to make it a three man band.

So a give-away for people who have enough money to give other people at least 25 games?

If its their game to give away I don't see the problem.

Also, while I haven't been active on SteamGAF for a while but when I was more active hitting 25 isn't that hard. If you buy a lot of bundles you might end up with 2-3 games to giveaway per week. After a few weeks hitting 25 isn't too difficult.

Edit: I am been a little underwhelmed by this sale overall so far. Maybe its because I own too many games? Funny thing is, I still end up spending 20 bucks or so even on Steam sales that don't get me excited.

Not really. The game looks better with DSfix, but that's about it.

Stable framerate, first and foremost.
The ability to push that framerate to 60ffps (I think it's buggy though, because the game wasn't designed for it).
Also, if you never spent $15 on the DLC for consoles, there's that too.

Obviously not. Just doesn't know what it's like to be new. And anyway I bet if anybody did it, it was all crappy bundle throwaways that were left over and not the top selling games from every updated sale covering a wide variety of interests and price ranges.

I'm think so since they only sell a 2-pack and I'm not sure if more players are for other online modes.

Doing a quick repost since I ended up at the end of the page and wanted to make sure people can enter just in case it got missed.

Since I just got into the series myself recently and am absolutely loving this game, I just wanted to share with everyone the awesomeness that is Dark Souls! Come Die with me!

Thanks mate, you love porn too? (?)

Rogue Legacy and terrible should never be used together. See, I just did it and that's just... well terrible.

I know it's pretty much unanimously loved. I just didn't like it. MD and I are Steam friends, and he loves it, so I bust his balls about it.

Man, I thought the second rule on my giveaway would have exposed my joke. Who do you think I blocked from it?

Sorry mcfishstick, I'm not trying to be rude. I don't even like entering raffles, because I have enough money in my Steam account to get most of the cheap games I want. I just think that the type of people who give away lots of games aren't the type of people who would enter raffles like these.

That would be crazy, you'd have to be drunk to do that!

Just to be clear, my girlfriend isn't a big fan of sprawling, open world games with tons of lore, a la Witcher and Elder Scrolls.
