I don't think lapis will be fusing with anyone anytime soon. Peridot or Amethyst would be my bets.
Amy wasn't there when the rebellion happened but yeah yo might be right. Speaking of, how did the rebellion end, exactly?
Peri and Jasper both specialize in war so maybe YD is strong because she head the military branch of HW government.

IIRC might be some "great time war" shit where Rose did something unthinkable and wiped out friends and foes alike to just end it, except for shielding the Crystal Gems. There have been hints at this and otherwise it wouldn't make much sense for homeworld to just give up if there was literally just the five gems left
Yeah, that sounds legit. Like the way Peridot and Jasper spoke about it, they seemed to think there were no gems on the planet at all

I honestly think Peridot + Amethyst + Pearl would be a pretty balanced fusion. Or, well, balanced as in "capable of maintaining integrity" in the same way Sugilite can.

The temple actually has 8 arms, 4 are centered inwards, and 4 are stretched out.
Pretty sure the temple is of the fusion of Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Rose Quartz.

The Temple fusion has all of the gem placements of each of the individual gems. There's the Pearl on top of the mask, one of the hands has a warp pad on it in the same placement as the Garnets, the Amethyst is on the chest, and the entrance to the Temple is in the stomach, where the Rose Quartz is.
Awesome. The body paint marks look really well done.

Brilliant. I love it when the person and the character are a great physical match to begin with.
I honestly never put too much thought into the Temple Fusion beyond "Has a mask-face and a face-face like Alexandrite" and Rose's Hair. I mean, I just assumed it was all 5 CG's fused, but I didn't realize how obvious the Pearl, Amethyst, and Sapphire traits were. I'm not sure how Ruby fits in, but I'm sure it'll tie into the hands somehow. Either that, or they were aware that people would catch on that there're 2 "Garnet-y" traits when designing the fusion, so they decided to just count Garnet as one gem to throw perceptive people off.
Neat! I agree with KiN0; the body paint just helps her nail the character. I also like how the nose is just subtle enough that you might not realize it's a prop from a glance.

Does this episode straight up confirm that Steven has super strength or is Peridot just super weak. What have we ever seen Steven struggle with physically?
He was able to lift up jenny in joy ride without much...well any effort.

I'm thinking it's just Peridot being weak since she used her limb extensions for everything. Probably did all the muscleish work for her.
Little bit of both. This is the kid who punched straight through a van's dashboard, after all.

Well it's clear that he has cartoonish strength in certain parts, like punching the dash so hard the airbag deployed, I can't really remember a time where he's clearly shown to do something strength wise that another person straight up fails at. Does he even realize he has enhanced strength?

Saying Periperi specialises in war seems like a stretch.

Her sole purpose fro coming to earth was the cluster. The cluster is a war weapon. I think it's safe to say that she at least specializes in the r&d side of the military.
Given the latest episode I sorta gathered that it might be because she bothered reading those hundreds of years of logs. What if she was the only one who even remembered it? That'd be hilarious.
I have no idea why people think Steven would fuse with one of those bozos instead of one of the Crystal Gems he actually has known for years.
Goddamn, she's got the perfect facial expression for the role too.
Did she choose Earth as her assignment or was it given to her?
Well, given the obvious connotations of fusion, I think it would be really awkward for Steven to fuse with what are essentially his foster mothers-barring amethyst of course.

They were training him to do so in alone together, so I don't think it would be that awkward for either side.

Oh, I'm sure it was all "oh yeah I'm so keen on this" until there was danger.
I think it was assigned to her because it was supposed to be an easy "get in, get out" mission. No combat. Despite having read so many data logs, she seemed legitimately surprised that there was anything sentient living on Earth.
In fact it seemed like both her and Jasper were surprised that the Crystal Gems were there at all. Are the Crystal Gems positive that they won the war through sheer force of will, and not because Homeworld never really valued the planet that much to begin with so they just let them be?
Quick update on the Nostalgia Critic Vlogs for anyone who cares. He finally hit the 'hotstreak' starting with Lion 3.

This reminds me, why wasn't Peridot concerned when the Red Eye never came back? She was using it for surveillance no?
Maybe she just assumed that meant that it found nothing, and broke down in the process? Or that it only reports back if it finds something, and if it doesn't, it keeps looking? I mean, she showed little regard for the broken robonoid; maybe she gave up on the Red Eye, too?
