And it also makes really hard for me to believe that the final product will be like this.
The fluidity of the animations is on a different level.
Human capture technology capabilities have made exponentially large jumps in the last 2 years and will continue to make large jumps in the next few years as well, so it's believable. Whether it's executed in the final game is another thing and we will see.

Downgrade incoming
Uncharted 4 went through 3 downgrades if I remember correctly.

First was the cutscene at 60 FPS, then the video with the caves and cliff sides gameplay and then the e3 demo. The final game still was great looking, but I was surprised with how the sections previously shown all looked clearly worse.

Cant wait to find out someday that NaughtyDog is going multiplatform so we can all agree that their games are absolutely fantastic and technically probably the best in the bussines.
Hey, Lord have mercy on our souls if MS ever buys Naughty Dog..... If ND's janitor switching over to MS can create such buzz, the whole studio going over there, should equate to the second coming......Hats should be held unto....

It's funny because you're resorting to argumentum ad populum while trying your best to act smug. I guess the irony is lost on you

As for the consensus - I'm going to need sources confirming that. Looking at metacritic for example, Nintendo and R* seems to be better
Hey, speaking of smug..... That pic kinda resonates very high levels of Smugness..... Gave me a good chuckle though....

Serious question for those who have played and completed the first game. Does it get better? I'm about an hour in and I'm bored out of my mind. Don't understand the hype this series has received so far. Is it a slow burn?

Give it until timeskip + 2 hours. If you aren't enjoying it at that point then drop it, because the systems and gamefeel dont change. The begining of the game is just walky talky minge, not representative of the genius ladder/swimming puzzles, and world class stealth murdering and escort missioning. E.g. Collecting bottles to chuck to lure people, so much better than Assassin’s Creeds haybale whistling.

ND animations are far from being just a product of motion capture, there is a truck load of weird systems in place to make them work while you play. That is in part why almost every studio is always playing catch up with their animation quality while playing. I still get a chuckle at when Tomb Rider tried to imitate the wall touching from TLoU, it's a silly detail, but none the less impressive.

ND originally wanted 60fps but they realized that wouldn't be possible. I think that is why some sections of Uncharted 4 are not very complex (graphically unnatractive actually) while others are really stunning. What I mean is that U4 is somewhat inconsistent graphically and I always felt this is the result from the change in design philosophy from 60 to 30 fps during development.

Gears 5 and God of War are much better in that regard.
