Yes! Days Gone has added gyro aim. I plan on picking up the game soon, there's just so much right now but if def made the game from a maybe to a definite buy for that alone.

This is just insane, notwithstanding that it is actually based on the base PS4 at 1.84TF...…...Shown on PRO with enhanced rez and for better clarity...I'm not familiar with Naughty Dog's proprietary engine, but goddamn the results of their pipeline are phenomenal . The presentation of their eventual PS5 title is going to be absolutely bonkers.
I don't think cinematics are a big issue......I imagine they may have dialed certain things back and increased other aspects just the same...….This is Naughty we're dealing with here......I remember Uncharted series remained "texturezilla" for all of last generation across the three games.....The thing is, in every generation they set the bar, even on lower end hardware in some cases.......I mean Jak 1, 2 and 3 were just nuts relative to technology.........Yet, even Naughty is hamstrung by what the hardware can do, no matter how talented they are........I think next gen is where we will have the least bottlenecks in any generation....I'd love to see what they do with a great CPU, fast SSD and fast Navi GPU...…...If they can do that above with 1.84TF. where I've never seen such visuals from vintage PC devs with ultra settings on 2080ti's even, we can probably conclude they're in a league of their own...….As for this gen, I think we will be blown away......If any team can take the crown from UC4, it's Naughty......Across the games some elements got better while others got worse. A fair trade in most instances but what comes to mind is the infamous Chloe in the bus cinematic lighting change in UC2, and most notably UC4 not matching the initial trailer, in neither frame rate, lighting/material or model density. UC4 received additional shadow and other subtle downgrades from the first gameplay trailer. TLOU also did not achieve the initial trailer or the first scripted gameplay.
Generally, I've noticed other "downgrades" across their titles from subtle lighting and model fidelity changes because they seem to like to crank the engine to max LOD shadows and details for previews and slowly cut back with each showing. But I could say the same for almost all devs, ND just gets closer to their initials in most cases.
I can forgive it somewhat with new engines and beginning of gens but at this point it ticks me off that so many games are still shown off with obviously unachievable detail, lighting, etc. and then downgraded for launch. Devs have mature tools and enough experience this gen to know what is achievable so when they show shit that looks too good to be true it's not cause they naively think it's possible it's because they want to drum up early hype with unrealistic visuals like it's a fucking Big Mac commercial (I'm looking right at you: The Coalition, CDPR, and soon ND). Nintendo is the only one doing it right.
That said, UC4 remains a contender for best and most consistently good graphics of the gen next to RDR2, The Order and AC.
Oh I'm excited for TLoU2 I tell ya.Same people come on every TLOU thread to say the same shit lesbian, murder, SJW, movie. Like cornballs. Probably the most excited tho, probably have those words ready in their clipboards at all times. I worry for the cornflakes when they have male gay characters front and center. Rather then not playing something that makes them internally uncomfortable, they are going to go on every thread commenting about their pain.
I can’t wait 4 what naughty dog makes for PS5. And with insomniac churning out a game every year, it’s gonna b lit.
Murder and lesbians!
I'm looking forward to the ridiculous hype and the cheers of "Best game eva made!", much like the first game.
I am really meh about The Last of Us to be quite frank. I hate to say this but Naughty dog games for the last decade or so have been nothing more than overdone movie simulators with small amount of gameplay that's nowhere near ground breaking or that great.
I am sure the story and visuals will be appraised non stop and that's fine but I much prefer actual games where you have more gameplay than anything else. God of War is a great example of enough cinematic stuf, enough story and fantastic gameplay. Meanwhile, naughty dog is sitting on the over dramatic cut scene after cut scene story telling with a small amounts of gameplay in between.
Honestly, far more excited with what Microsoft is doing next gen. Gears of War 5 is a fantastic example of a complete package with a great campaign, addicting gameplay and a game that still feels like am actual game without over use on the cinematograohy and all that stuff. I am not trying to be a fanboy here but just being honest with how I feel. My games of this generation by the way were Bloodborne and God of War along with Mario Oddyssey and Sea of Thieves. As you can tell from these choices I am much more about more gameplay, less walking, less talking and more actual game.
Am I excited to play Tlou 2? For sure. But for different reasons, probably the technological breakthrough more than anything is why I wanna play that game, but that's it.
I loved TLOU
But for some reason I have little to no hype for this.
yeah deadass we millenials finna hella enjoy dis lit shii

This is such BS. Every major ND game over the last 10 years has contained a substantial multiplayer component built out from the main campaigns combat mechanics.
This proves unequivocally that the gameplay is there, even if the ratio of sustained action sequences to storytelling/cinematics is not to everyone's taste.
The multiplayer is nothing special in either of those titles and you know it. Naughty Dog was never really known for gameplay, rather visuals and storytelling is their best thing.
Also last 10 years of ND have been practically the same. Uncharted 1 to 4 is basically the same game and feels like a movie sequel after movie sequel only with better tech every time and barely any nee gameplay innovations. No thanks.
does that means we get nothing from them on TGS ?

Not really. If anything it reaffirms the suspicion that Sony are planning something for a PS5 reveal. Besides, what else would they even have to showcase by then? Death Stranding is out in early November, so that leaves Ghost of Tsushima and what would've been TLOU Part II. Then you have VGA's around the same time as well, which will have its fair share of new trailers and announcements.I'm very excited for this game as I'm a huge fan of the first one, but is anyone else a little disappointed that this basically confirms PSX isn't coming back this year?

I'm currently playing Gears 5. I would say the combat is less entertaining than The Last of Us and Uncharted 4.
I just generally take cover and take out enemies.
I can do the exact same thing in The Last of US and Uncharted 4, but the hand-to-hand combat and stealth mechanics makes the combat feel better.
They added better stealth mechanics in the Last of Us 2 and the melee combat seems to be much better, along with the ability to hide under objects (cars). Not only that, there's a dodge mechanic and the physics makes the melee combat seem far more realistic.
So yes, I don't just want to shoot clickers in the Last of Us, I also want to punch the crap out of them or hit with crowbar just to knock their head off. Melee combat is great for a grounded game.

My most anticipated SP campaign walkthrough to watch on YouTube in 2020.
