Just finishing up Conflict Resolution right now. The Jim prank with the quarters in the phone handset would have been amazing to see.

Next up, my feelings will cry when Casino Night is over. That's where I came into the show. I bought seasons 1 and 2 during the summer between season 2 and 3 and marathoned them to prepare for 3. That's when I became a fan.

This may have already been mentioned, but it occurred to me that Dwight doesn't have the power to fire Toby. Toby works for Corporate, and if it were possible for the manager of the Scranton office to fire him, Michael would've gotten rid of him ages ago.

Man, the last few seasons were pretty sloppy. Still, it was a great finale overall.

Did Dwight try to fire Toby? All I saw was him giving Toby a cake to bribe him into letting Kevin stay fired. Or did he say something about wanting to fire him? Of course he can't of course.

Just want to share my two favorite quotes, each from Pam and Jim of the finale:

Pamela Beesly Halpert said:
I didn't watch the whole documentary, after a few episodes, it was too painful.

I kept wanting to scream at Pam.

It took me so long to do so many important things.

It’s just hard to accept that I spent so many years being less happy than I could have been.

Jim was 5 feet away from my desk, and it took me four years to get to him

It’d be great if people saw this documentary and learned from my mistakes

Not that I am a tragic person. I am really happy now.

But…

It would just – just make my heart soar, if someone out there saw this

And she said to herself:

“Be strong. Trust yourself, love yourself. Conquer your fears. Just go after what you want. And act fast, because life just isn't that long."

Jim Halpert said:
Imagine going back and watching a tape

Of your life

You could see yourself…

Change and make mistakes, and grow up.

You could watch yourself fall in love, become a husband, become a father.

Well, I enjoyed it.

I teared up a bit when Erin met her parents (Joan Cusack as her mom? Great casting, but damn, I feel old), Michael's cameo was handled really well, and the Creed stuff was great. Oh, and the Ryan and Kelly stuff. Jim and Dwight's relationship really sealed it for me, though.

I was ready to say goodbye to the show even before Michael left, but...I'll still miss it.

Cried. Tears in my eyes as I type this in fact.

It's my favorite show ever so, yeah. They got me. They did a nice job alluding to Pam's selfishness with that one lady in the audience that said she'd let Jim "do anything... anything...." They kind of paint Jim as a bit of a sucker, which I can relate to.

When Jim said the part about changing and seeing that played out, lost it. Also lost it when Michael showed up at the wedding.

I think history will be pretty favorable to this season. Well done. I need to watch it again tomorrow but after the first run through I can say I enjoyed it on comedic and a few emotional levels.

Maybe tomorrow I'll be meaner about Pam, and the change her character made this season (supportive to selfish).

Bittersweet ending.

My wife pointed out that the last character you see is actually Michael. First Pam taking down the painting she did, then a flashback of Michael when he first put it up. Loved how he was the last face you saw while Pam did her ending monologue.

I only started watching this show last year when I watched every season on Netflix in a span of like a month. I didn't grow up with it like others here but I'm going to miss the hell out of it.

Well, there is no corporate anymore, right? It's just David Wallace.

I spent the first half hour cringing, and the second half hour lamenting the fall from grace the show slowly suffered over the last two or three years.

It got better and more emotional towards the end, but I think it says something when Michael Scott showing up in his first scene, not saying anything, triggered more of an emotional response than the rest of the episode did for me.

I thought it was an amazing ending. Thought I'd start disliking the show once Michael left and maybe I did for a bit, but it held steady and finished great.

The last 5 or so episodes were pretty good, especially when compared to the rest of the season. Why did they wait until the end to pick up the quality?

I ended up watching it. I stopped watching not long after Michael left so I haven't a clue what everyones been doing but it didn't seem to matter. It was disappointing to have Michael return to say "Hello, Dwight." and then not do anything else the rest of the episode.

I really liked the ending, a fitting way to end the series. Seeing Michael Scott again was just great and I loved that. He didn't have a lot of lines but that didn't matter.

It did all end on a happy note and I'm not sure if I would like that in an other show but on this one it doesn't bother me. Also, when I was watching that special recap episode thing I was constantly saying about Jim pranks and stuff: 'Did that happen in season 2 or any of the earlier seasons.' I always thought those happened quite a bit later for some reason.

Overall I enjoyed the show but it had to end sometime and I think they did it right.

Watching Pam this episode made me realize that she's always had issues with any sort of risk or change. She was with Roy forever, despite being clearly unhappy and in love with someone else. Didn't want to stay in art school due to the distance it was causing between her and Jim and then had trouble with the idea of moving. She's done spontaneous things in the past, (the fire walking and Michael Scott paper company) but overall her character seems to have had trouble with risks.

Also, I think my favorite thing about this series was the friendship between Pam and Dwight. So absolutely adorable.

I knew Michael was going to show up at the wedding but when he said the line I cried my balls out haha. Not the only time someone cut the onions around here during the episode.

Some bad moments, but overall a decent finale. I really enjoyed it when the audience members were ripping on Pam. She sucks. I was hoping maybe the finale would end with a divorce after Jim realized how awful she is, but nope.

Although shouldn't Jim be wealthy any way at this point? He had invested capital in that athletic company and they just sold or merged it. Yet he is still working at a shitty little paper company????

Happens a lot with long-running shows. Toward the end, the writers can stop having the characters meandering around and set them toward an endgame that was probably planned way back when.

Yeah I suppose you're right. Scrubs season 8 was a lot better than the few seasons prior too, at least from what I remember.

So, just finished watching season 2. I'm actually really enjoying this show. When should I stop watching?

4 or 5 to most people. But no reason to stop if you're enjoying it.

I'd say watch through Season 5, "Goodbye, Michael" from Season 7, and the last three hour-long episodes from Season 9.

Maybe throw "Niagara" from Season 6 in there.

why are people still saying this? it was resolved long ago. tobey went to visit him in prison and got strangled...the right guy was convicted if it wasn't clear enough...

I only saw half of the episode. I had still hoped that it was Gabe, but a coworker pointed out that Gabe was in Florida at the time the strangler was running amok.

Honestly surprised Toby didn't get his silver lining. Seemed like the season was working up to him ending up with Nell, but then they just back pedaled away from that possibility.

Don't stop. You'll have fun with it. This is my personal favorite show of all time. I guess looking back, the hardest thing for me was the Jim & Pam relationship, it's ups and downs, and the general lovey-dovey nonsense of Season 6. Season 8 was very difficult for me too, with Michael leaving and not seeing Jim, Dwight or Andy really step up in their new roles. I had trouble after an episode called "Lotto" where I was saying to myself... okay guys... pull it. But it got better after that low point. All seasons have their ups and downs (Scott's Tots being the worst episode in the run). The absolute worst.

If you like it, just keep going. I have enjoyed the show right up to the end. I loved the confident Andy of Season 9.

Just a quick thing. Andy Fucking Buckley is amazing. He's probably the most believable character in any show I have ever watched. I have worked in corporate america for about 14 years, and that guy, you slot him in anywhere in upper management - he would absolutely fit in at any of the big public companies I have worked for. I'd kill to be that polished, handsome, articulate. He's one of my non-gay celebrity crushes just for the sheer fact that he was absolutely PERFECT, in every scene of every episode he was in. And if you look at blooper reels on youtube, he seems just a funny as the rest of the cast. He said in an interview that he had a lot of difficulty working around Steve Carell because he just personally finds him hilarious and broke character to laugh in a lot of scenes, causing them to retake. That makes me like him even more.

So Mr. Handsome has a sense of humor too huh??

The whole season should have used the finale's theme of one year after the airing of the doc. Would have been so much better than the crap we got.

Either the first or last. I prefer the first.

Weird. Michael, such a major part of the show, had literally 1 minute of screen time and 2 lines of dialogue. I mean, he wasn't even there at the office when everyone was saying goodbye to each other. He was just kinda absent. Seemed kinda weird to me.

Watch "Goodbye Michael". There's your Michael finale. This was not about him.

DAMMMMN, finally saw it.

Great great great finale. Hit every emotional note that it could have.

I loved Dwight's subordinate speech, which was the same as Michael's in the pilot.

I was spoiled on Michael (I coudln't watch on Thursday due to work, same with Friday) which ruined the impact of that. :(

Great stuff. I wish it was longer, though...the panel stuff could have been lengthened.

Alright finale. It definitely hit some emotional notes I wanted to see, but they didn't strike me as hard as I would have liked. The entire back half of this show just numbed me, from season 6 on. Nothing but glimpses of what I devoutly followed in seasons 2 and 3. I guess the finale was also pretty funny too, at parts.

More than anything I feel relief. It's finally over.

Just watched. Definitely teared up. I absolutely loved this show until this season. In spite of the rough patch the writing went through I'm really happy with how it all went. Great finale.

Just watched "The Deposition" from season 4. I thought it was a really lovely episode, and the ending scene with Wallace apologizing to Michael was genuinely touching. This episode also had my favorite moment of the entire series so far, Michael pushing Toby's lunch off the table in the middle of Toby trying to comfort him.

I think I will watch all the way up to Michael's departure and then see how well the show holds together after that.

The Deposition and Dinner Party, being back to back, marks probably the most "dark humor" the series ever was. I really enjoyed The Deposition too, but in that episode my favorite moment was the confusion/corrections around Michael saying "that's what she said" under oath (and under his breath), and when questioned on the meaning, clarifies very clearly: That's What She Said. For the stenographer to type, correct, and redeliver, thereby "butchering it".
