Announcement Hints? The Sims Russia Tweets

The Sims Russia is notorious for releasing information prior to an announcement, and their twitter account is no different. In the last 36 hours they have tweeted the following:

Update:

EA will hold on monday a big announcement related to the series. Many fansites are invited to that event, see http://simsvip.com/2013/05/03/ea-to-make-big-announcement-for-the-sims/.

So, i think EA will reveal The Sims 4 at monday. The domain thesims4.com is active and links to thesims.com. http://simsvip.com/2013/05/03/the-sims-4-domain-now-active/
Something is brewing in the Sims 4 rumors, at least.

Several fansites have been invited to a presentation of "something big" in the The Sims franchise on Monday.

So... maybe?

EDIT: Ninja'd!

I have long since given up paying attention, when was the last Sims 3 expansion?
Expansion Pack #9. University Life - Came out Early March

There's a new one coming out June 25th, and at least one more unannounced one.

So I imagine Sims 4 to be out in 2014.

You can only build a one room house but it's okay, you can own multiple one room houses and make them have specializations such as "bedroom" and "living room".

- Always online

- Share a neighbourhood with other players, enjoy as they rob your house and plaster trollface.jpg all over the walls, steal your grill and piss in your swimming pool

- Experience your virtual girlfriend in Sims 4 played by another person (a guy) and live together

- Buy clothes, food and items with real money, to impress the online community

Expecting a reveal at EA's E3 presentation.
Indeed. Sims continues to be one of EA's most profitable IPs.

Despite their mass cost-cutting measures, I imagine Sims is one asset that's going to remain relatively intact.

E3 2013 announcement for a 2014 release. MAYBE Holiday 2013 release at the earliest for Sims 4.

This is EA we are talking about here.
Yeah, I'd bet money on Sims 4 being always-online.

It'd be a real shame, as the more traditional Sims 3 has developed into quite a fine game over the years of expansion packs and community support, and a grand overhaul like always-online for the core series would completely destroy all of the series's momentum.

I hope this is a multiplayer focused game so I can trade children with my neighboring sims

Well EA's fiscal call is on May 7th, so if something this large is coming out soon it will likely be mentioned or hinted at there as at least "a major Maxis launch".

I say this because this is the call where they have to give financial guidance for the entire fiscal year (April 2013-March 2014).

No need, they can make a new graphics engine then re-release everything they've already made for money again. Worked twice before afterall.
Honestly I'd prefer that over a bastardized "Sims 4 Social" that I expect given the hardline attitude EA Maxis has demonstrated for SimCity.

All right, I'm going to convert the thread to this instead. Thanks.

What happened to those Sims 4 leaked images?

Looks like they are changing/adding quite a lot from the way Sims has always been. Afraid they are definitely going to make it online-only

This is actually looking like a pretty decent year for EA after the pretty ho-hum showing last fiscal year.

So for the full fiscal year we're looking at:
-Battlefield 4
-Dragon Age 3
-The Sims 4
-Titanfall (Respawn)
-Need For Speed 20
-EA UFC
-Madden 25
-FIFA 14
-NHL 14
-NCAA Football 14
-NBA Live 14
-Fuse

Not exactly the world's most shocking line-up, but at least it has some heavier hitters again.

I'm interested in seeing if this will be released on Steam considering EA's support for the Steam version of The Sims 3 survived the 2011 faux dummy spit.

Has EA even hinted at DA3's release window? I'm hoping it's sooner than later :-/

Oh this is great! I have a friend that works at a part of EA that works on Sims titles and last I heard from him he was getting worried about job security. Great news!

You mean these?

They're still around. The blue plumbob is interesting, and worrying. Especially considering that University Life for Sims 3 has a sculpture of a blue plumbob named "The Future".

Feels... Soon for sims 4, sims 2 seemed to go on forever. Though I welcome a reboot, sims 3 was no sims 2.

I don't mind a DLC store, I've actually come to prefer it over the old stuff packs. I'll bail if its always online, but really... I just can't see how always online would work for sims. I understand the conceptual argument for always online for sim city much better than for the sims. Everything is on a local/sand box level in design. Unless they want to take another stab at an online sims, which I will just predict disaster now if true.
