Its perfect. By the time we can hopefully get the Dems back into office we will have another financial meltdown. Rich repubs are probably intentionally planning this to eradicate the party in one fell swoop. They will have so much ammo and since facts dont matter anymore, well we be straight fucked. The Republican machine works better than even they thought it did. A steady diet of increasingly outlandish and all-encompassing lies from their media, their politicians increasingly obvious about the fact that their only goal is obstruction to make the other side look bad, a post-fact candidate who simultaneously panders to Breitbart and the KKK while his supporters ignore everything they don't want to believe as jokes.
I wonder if Republicans truly wanted it to work this well. I have a feeling some of them secretly hoped that these tactics would be repudiated by the voters. That once they reached a sickening enough level, the voters would be the safety valve that saved democracy.
Instead, the voters came crawling to their door, begging for the lies. For the lies that even Republicans were embarrassed about telling, for their sheer transparency. But the machine worked too well. Of course we will get the financial elite in full control of the system now; there was never any doubt. Trump told us he was going to enrich the very top percent at the expense of the economy and the rest of the country. It was hardly even a lie at all.

It was just a joke when he said it would help the economy. But people thought the joke was the Breitbart stuff; nope, that was literal. We voted for a transparent joke, and the people we voted for can't believe how stupid we are.

It's interesting that not a single poster has talked about the rule in question here, which hasn't ever existed, because it's not yet in effect. I have mixed feelings on the rule's effectiveness, but am in favor of it. That said, it's pretty typical hyperbole to say the cancellation of a rule that has not yet and never has been in effect will cause an economic meltdown.
Those voters will find some way to blame Obama. They'll never face the truth that the GOP doesn't give a shit about them.
