Agreed, Desert Villiage is terrible. And the sandstorm makes it even worse.

I disagree. I think Desert Village is great, and the sandstorm is one of the coolest things about it.

Desert Village is just like a more playable Train Wreck from UC2. I don't mind it at all.

(lol, I just called it a train wreck)

The Fort.

For sure - that and it's a tossup between the ruins and museum. Damn, why did they bring all the allright maps back, but none of the good ones?

Idk why you guys hate the Desert Village - you can do anything on that map - snipe, hipfire + punch, or aim. All 3 have been successful for me. Plus, it's the easiest map to get the assassin medals. The storm is so cool and mixes up the action very well.

Desert Village reminds me of Favela from MW2. Too much verticality , you can get lit up from any direction.

All the ledges in Desert Village usually have at least some sort of cover to protect you from the other side of the map. And really there's only 2 or 3 spots where you'd have reason to climb up anyway. I think Yemen is worse in that regard, especially on Turf War or King of the Hill.

The worst part of Desert Village is the spawn point at the very bottom where you usually run into someone within 3-5 seconds.

If you're looking for some easy kills, just keep an eye on the alleyway - that's where a lot of the shit goes down, much like the room in the Chateau.

Yeah sometimes I spawn right behind people on that side of the map, it's the only map that I feel like your surrounded.

I was very fond of Desert Village in the beginning.... but glitching makes it my least favourable map now.

What glitching?

Speaking of glitching it's remarkable that I haven't see anything like how it was in UC2 in the game yet. Apparently if you somehow manage to get out of the maps' normal boundaries you're immediately killed.

Yep, I agree. It's a good map, IMO. The sandstorm is really great and I haven't got bored of it. It changes the dynamic and makes you examine your surroundings carefully. I used to be pretty terrible with the sniper rifle in that map, but I pretty much got used to where everything is that I'm decent with it.

I'm happy to say that I haven't encountered any glitchers on that map so far.

The Fort.
Yeah, the map was nothing but a FAL camp fest. However, The Fort is AMAZING for Gold Rush/Survival and ESPECIALLY Siege. Omfg, Siege on that map is epic with another player. So intense.

Guys, seriously, link your facebook account to your PS3 and share the details here. When you upload treasure, if 10 people claim it, you get 500 cash per click, so up to a max of 5000 for each treasure you share. If you are interested in getting money in the game, it is quick and easy to do. You have to get duplicate treasures though to be able to share.

That's worthless to me now. I already reached the money cap a long time ago, bought everything, and I'm around 960k right now.

Lol, wow, alright. Yeah, if you've maxed everything out, then yeah, haha.

I still have a LOOONG way to go. The emblems/taunts alone are a shit load of money.

Just played UC2 after a long hiatus. Why does UC2 look better than 3? I mean it looks quite a bit better IMO

The hate for UC3 MP has reached stupid levels. UC3 destroys UC2, multiplayer and single-player. ESPECIALLY multiplayer.

yeah, they are ridiculously expensive, but I make a shitload of money every match. Like, I've been buying paid boosters and have been regaining the money I paid for them in every match I play. Haha.

Dude he's always been full of shit. I'm done with knee jerk reactions. Either you like it or don't. There are enough people playing it online that love it. If your one of the few that don't just leave. Quit bitching in this thread. nothing is going to change.

No. Why shouldn't people voice their opinions? It's a discussion about multiplayer. Not everyone is going to like it. Post like yours kill discussion and for me, that is frankly unacceptable. If people don't bitch about the problems, it's just going to get overlooked. You want to know why Naughty Dog is trying to find that sweet spot? It's because of people bitching everywhere (especially on their forums) and they're listening. That's why. Skip the posts if they bother you that much.

GG's Darkatom. Sorry Neoultima, I wanted to play with you too but the game was constantly kicking at least one of us out of the group. I slowly coming around to liking the MP alot. Just some minor tweaks like more stopping power and a little less BF accuracy and I'll be happy. It also helps when you're slightly buzzed.

The first time I experienced the sandstorm, it surprised me, because I didn't expect it. Now, whenever I play that map, I kind of look forward to the sandstorm occurring now. The low visibility can be a good opportunity for stealth kills!

I had several good games of Team Deathmatch tonight. On the last game I played on the Airstrip, I managed to get the Tripled medal twice in a single game, bringing my total count for that medal to three. :) I got First! for the first time in the Subway multiplayer game (although I got it a few times in the July beta), and Triple Threat for only the third time. I also got three Strike Three medals this game, but Streak continues to elude me; I haven't earned it at all yet in the Subway multiplayer game (but got a few in the July beta).

In another game earlier, I earned Riot Starter for the first time.

Although I'm not a great player (my K/D ratio is about 0.64), I came out even or ahead on kills versus deaths for all but one of the games tonight.

You go, Agent X!

Man, the multiplayer is all messed up tonight. Literally every match I've played tonight, I've had the broken connection symbol pop up, other characters are 'shaky' in their movements...it's so bad. It reminds me of the first day of the beta where things weren't working 100%. Don't know what's wrong...it's not my connection either because other online games are smoothly tonight.

Are you guys playing with wireless? I've NEVER seen any disconnected ethernet symbol pop up on my screen yet, and I think I only came across it a few times in UC2.

I feel like nothing looks as good as Village and Plaza. Also it is soo much easier to kill people with Long Guns in UC2 omg

Been out of the loop for a while, it seems my router kicked the bucket and until I figure things out this weekend, I don't think I'll be able to play U3.

Booted up the game last night for the first time in 3 or 4 days.

The G-MAL is definitely back!! A great step in the right direction, so thank you for addressing that ND.

I'm now seeing more players using a mix of Mal, M-9 and AK, which is a good sign. AK rate of fire upgrade from the beta needs to be brought back though.

Also, I could almost swear that when I was playing last night the speed/pacing (not sprint speed, just general mobility) was slowed down a notch. I can't tell if this was just me imagining things, but if it was in fact slowed down, thanks again ND for another step in the right direction.

Autoaim still needs to be returned back to how it was in the beta, but overall I'm liking the changes so far.

There's an interesting Q&A in there, includes a Neogaf shotout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOWi1tKdW48 seems like we're too hard on them. :P
Good, if anyone from Naughty Dog is reading this, I just have on thing to say:

Uncharted 2 Mulitplayer at launch was PERFECT. Now it is ruined due to seemingly what looks like the misunderstanding of what makes multiplayer fun and using shitty games(ie CoD) as references for gameplay changes.

He's voicing his opinion. I think some of the maps look of UC2 a little bit better, mostly in terms of art direction, but I haven't played all of the UC3 MP maps, nor co-op, to make that decision yet.

It's kind of a blanket statement to make about the game as a whole but it can be a fair compliant about some of the MP.

Because certain people think this is a hype thread and not a discussion thread.

And I'm not down with this Desert Village hate. It's the best of the new maps in my opinion. I'd rather bitch about the opening train ride on London Underground which has totally killed my desire to play that map.

Ok, I cannot shoot in this game. Maybe after playing through the SP I will somehow get really good (that happened for me in UC2), but right now it is an unplayable melee fest. I don't care what anyone says, at mid to close range, blindfire and punch is still the safest and fastest way to kill.

The ranged game is kind of nerfed and there's not enough stopping power to stop someone from rushing you with either melee and worse, the shotgun. Needs less recoil and a smaller reticle for ak and para.

SamuraiX- said:
Going by that, it sounds like you guys were bitching about the recoil both before and after the summer Beta.

Really, there's no pleasing GAF. lol
Still, the impressions of the beta we're 90% positive, which is very different from the subway beta. All people wanted was a few tweaks not this.

Played this for a week before Arkham City came out. Originally I was frustrated and upset by how different this felt from U2. But I really started to come around after playing a decent amount. The one thing that upset my was that in U2 I had probably a 2-1 kill/death ratio, and most games I played when starting it was the opposite or worse. But I gradually got the hang of it and started to really do better.

And why is it so fun to taunt over someone's corpse? I probably get killed 2-3 times a game just because I have the compulsion to bust out some idiot turkey dance every time I get a kill.

this shit.

...and its getting more and more frequent now.

I've seen people attempting that a couple of times, but i didn't know that they could jump outside the map from there, cause they got shot down before that last jump. Later i saw 2 guys hanging from the wall by the doorway trying to get up there, sent a kickback rpg up their asses.

Yeah! Quote that all over the web! Make sure as much people as possible see it....

Dumb.

Am I missing something here or isnt the point of this thread to discuss the beta while adding feedback so that ND can make the necessary changes for the better, or are you just trying to act daft?

Besides the problem is already out there, its better if it catches ND's attention now than later.
