Star Wars movie ranking for me now:
ESB > ANH > TFA > RotJ = RO >>>> The FMV cutscenes in Dark Forces 2 >>>>>> RotS > TPM > AotC

ANH > RO > TCW TV Show > Tartakovsky TCW > EPS > TFA > TPM > RotJ > RotS > Rebels > TCW

I've never seen Rebels so this could change.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???
A spin-off that happens to be better than TFA with a really positive word of mouth.

Agreed.

Really happy that both Fences & La La Land have carved themselves an audience this holiday season despite the noise of Rogue One - Fences is performing much better than I would have imagined, the powah of Denzel.

And for lolz, Monster Trucks begun it's rollout overseas before its domestic release and grossed $2.2M in the UK.

January is kind of amazing this year, in that it starts with a new Underworld film and ends with a new Resident Evil film, with a new xXx film sandwiched in there.

Seriously, with a line-up like that, I almost feel like this Fuck You, It's January deserves it's own OT.

Took a scan through the 2017 schedule. Pretty insane. Most of the films I'm looking forward to are packed around competition. Hopefully it doesn't translate into a bunch of disappointments.

Was Sing any good? Maybe it's my persona bias against Illumination after the oversaturation of Minions, but damn that movie looked like it was creatively bankrupt compared to Disney's recent efforts.

I notice nobody is seeing fit to include the animated Clone Wars film in their Star Wars movie rankings.

This strikes me as an egregious exclusion.

Nov/Dec 2017 is pretty stacked...

Thor 3: The Rock World (Nov 3)
Justice League (Nov 17)
Coco (Nov 22)
Star Wars Episode VIII (Dec 15)

But then I looked at Nov/Dec 2018 and OMG:

Untitled MCU Film (Nov 2)
Live Action Mulan (Nov 2)
The Grinch (Nov 9)
Gigantic (Nov 21)
Animated Spidey (Dec 21)
Avatar 2 (Dec 21)
Mary Poppins Returns (Dec 25)

If those dates stick... Disney is going to run fucking wild at the end of 2018. I feel like Mulan is going to be pushed back, if anything. MCU does well in that November slot.

I would totally make a Fuck You, It's January OT with a list of all the upcoming movies updated with RT scores as the month goes on.

wasn't it just the first three or four episodes of the show shoved together into a movie? i heard it was pretty bad too.

the show is not bad, and has some fun with its setting and characters... which is weird considering it's got poopy prequel stink all over it.

My friends who love animals and have young children liked it. I haven't watched it yet because of how bland it looks visually.

RO should be on par with TFA and TPM last. I actually can enjoy AoTC because of Ewan McGregor and the Gungans are more irritating than Anakin

Speaking of TDK numbers, I've always wondered if it would have done so well without the publicity of Ledger' death, seeing as how Begins didn't do so hot at the box office.

I remember being a Freshman in High School when the news broke, and suddenly EVERYONE, Batman fan or not, was talking about the movie.

Dudes were showing up to class with Joker makeup and all that. It was stunnnig.

Is R1 beating Civil War WW? Seems unlikely?

Yes it will. It will finish between 550-600 mil domestic. Civil War finished at 408 mil. Destroyed Civil War domestically.

WW Civil War ended at 1.1 bil. Rogue One should be able to push past that.

Domestically Rogue One will beat ever Marvel Studios film outside of the first Avengers.

XXX 3? You're bullshitting me right?

Anarchy '99 2.0

Also Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone in this
Looks like Priyanka Chopra has started the Bollywood actresses flock to come to Hollywood

Hilarious that their exporting them here, while porn Actress Sunny Leone is becoming a mega hit over there, she's already reached the boss that is Shah Rukh Khan

See for yourself:

They took an old school classic and remixed it to 2016 version

I remember pre-TFA when some GAFers were claiming Marvel has easily surpassed Star Wars and that Avengers 2 would easily beat TFA in the box office.

As I tried to point out at the time in that thread the fact Star Wars kids toys sales were much much much larger than Marvel's even during the height of Iron Man & The Avengers without any live action Star Wars media in sight and was the #1 "boys" toy brand year after year consistently was a major sign that as franchise Star Wars was much much bigger than Marvel and was just a sleeping giant in waiting. Kids were buying Star Wars backpacks and action figures more than any super hero and there hadn't been a live action Star Wars film in a decade, it was just waiting to be unleashed on the modern blockbuster market.

Pre-TFA is was obvious it would run circles around any super hero film imaginable, people just refused to pay attention to the signs.

Regarding Rogue One, I'm more surprised at how soft the overseas gross has been than I am the fact that the film will sail past $500M domestic.

Edit: Rogue One was at $312M as of the end of Thursday overseas. TFA was at $680M at that same point in time.

Part of that has to be the very strong dollar.

Is LA LA LAnd and jerk off white people film? Because it looks like a jerk off white people film.
What a useless post.

It's a feel good movie in a down year that has catchy music and excellent visuals. It's gonna be a hit for good reason. The two white stars are great in it too.

I think that Civil War has the edge in the Rogue One vs Civil War worldwide Battle.

Unless fortunes had a big turn around this weekend, overseas (minus China) is probably going to finish in the $450M range. Things can change in the next week, but it doesnt look like Rogue One will match TFA in China ($125M) based on presales. So that's around $550M international total with a $100M in China.

Yeah, but SW GAF only cares about domestic grosses so, eh.
