It could have awful controls. Really repetitive sound effects. Interminable loading. Who knows. At this point,I don't see how it will not be in my top 3.

No way! I refuse to believe your lies!Lot's of things can look and sound cool, but actually experiencing something tends to be different.
Oh man, it looks great. But getting hands on can uncover serious flaws that videos and previews may not convey. Like if a game has annoying SFX, or clunky controls, that's it for me.No way! I refuse to believe your lies!
ugh.
3) Fallout 3
2) Dark Souls
1) Skyward Sword
2. Red Dead Redemption
The best open-world game of this gen and possibly all time, Red Dead Redemption set a high watermark for world building as well as character writing that still has yet to be matched since IMO. Despite a somewhat overstretched middle portion in Mexico, the game's story is consistently interesting, and the world and characters have a real life to them. Exploring the beautiful, open frontier with little pockets of civilization sprinkled throughout it as beautiful weather transitions shift the mood of every scene provided me with some of my all-time favorite gaming memories. And what can be said about the ending? The lead-up to it and then the ultimate conclusion are phenomenal.
The jump in quality from GTA IV to Red Dead Redemption was staggering, especially after how disappointing GTA IV was. RDR was fantastic.
