Hey guys as you probably already know I am a huge fan of the Nintendo 3DS, own 20 games, and have also imported a Japanese unit.

This thread is meant to be an encyclopedia/recommendation to show just what games are out there for the Nintendo 3DS and what's coming in the future.

Looking for a good source of screenshots for games, PM me! Also, game recommendations. Feel free to correct me if I place games under the wrong genres.

Last Edited: July 31st (games that are soon to be released in the west will be added to the list a few days before their official release)
NEW: 3DS XL/LL announced for release this summer in all territories.

3DS is a game-changer, apparently, and I've yet to purchase anything for mine but the $5 Nintendogs deal Best Buy had a few weeks ago :lol

EDIT: too late but thanks for this I only have Zelda, and MonHun Tri G I really needed a thread like this.

Hehe I wondered when we would get a thread like this for the 3DS. Now seems like a great time.
Good initiative!

The good thing about it is that a lot of those games are on sale right now. I saw several of them for $14.50 at Best Buy :).

Anyway I'll continue to edit this as time goes on but I need to get to bed. Goodnight!

Ouch, there's a shooter/flight section and Ace Combat doesn't get a mention. I know it's a work in progress. I haven't played that game but impressions have been generally positive, so I'd say it's worth adding.

Other recommendations: Bit.Trip Saga, VVVVV, Devil Survivor: Overclocked.

Plz add a sale section! That would be great! Some people on CAG don't like to post many 3DS game deals :(

Galactic Fork

A little fluff between the ears never did any harm...
First, Nano Assault isn't bullet hell at all, and you forgot Ace Combat.

Also, am I the only one who finds it confusing when people put the picture above the title? Seems like the title should go first. That's where I look.

Make the screenshots smaller, and the Genre, and titles bigger. Also linking the games back to their OT if they have one would be great.

Nano Assault is a better shmup than SF 64. SF 64 is the only 3DS title I regret purchasing, and I bought Pilot Wings for full price.

Yeah, about the screenshots I recommend going into Google Image Search and checking out the exact size dimensions. You should be looking for 3DS native res screens so everything is the same.

Are these games actually, well, confirmed to be good?

I have heard pretty bad things about Dr. Lautrec. >_>

What is Tales of the Abyss like? I saw it in a shop the other day but passed over it.

It's pretty much what you'd expect from a Tales game. If you want a decent PS2-era Japanese RPG then this is pretty much the closest thing. It has a few issues (no voicework) but it also fixes up many issues the PS2 release was plagued by (including framerate).

It's probably the first "top-tier" jRPG available for the system.

put the screenshot under the describtion/title.
it's kinda confusing now IMO

also Tekken 3D is missing in "fighting"
same goes to RE Revelations in "action"

cw_sasuke

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
I don`t know if adding every game that isnt TOTAL shit into the list will be convincing. I would just highlight the really good titles. Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights....Pokemon Rumble Blast as RPG recommendation when Tales of the Abyss/Devil Summoner are available ?

But keep up the good work.

So hard to find this game in the England right now. Just about all the major retailers are sold out including Amazon, Play etc.

Sure there are copies on Amazon, but I don't want to pay £89 for it.

I just hope this is a short lived stock issue and not down the fact they didn't do many production runs of the game. I'd really like to try it.

jufonuk

not tag worthy
Blazblue II for fighting games needs to go in, while not containing online play it is a good fighting game with various modes for single player.

Pac-Man and Galaga should on the list to, get it cheap, you get the excellent Pacman DX and Galaga Legions, Pacman Tilt, Galaga Dimensionwith online leader board (for any of you high score whores out there) plus the OG versions of Pac-Man & Galaga.

I hope by that you just mean during skits for the English release. The 3DS version includes all the voice work that was found in the original PS2 release, nothing was cut in the platform transition.

I'd usually stick to one or two genres of games but with the 3DS I've been trying things that I wouldn't normally play.

So far I have:

Dr. Lautrec
Ace Combat
MK7
Mario 3D Land
Ghost Recon
Steel Diver
Ocarina of Time
Pilotwings
Nintendogs
Ridge Racer

Out of those I'd say Steel Diver is the worst game, I was very disappointed in it TBH. Ghost Recon and Ace Combat surprised me the most by how good they are, I'd say Ghost recon is definitely one of the best games out for the system.

Dr. Lautrec got mixed reviews but I'm really enjoying it, the puzzles are very good, the voice acting and anime cutscenes are excellent. The only thing I don't like about the game is the Pokemon-style battles that sometimes occur.

Haha, yes, that's what I meant. I knew what I meant in my head lol.

But yeah, coming off Vesperia having silent Skits was really weird

Also going the other way, add Zen Pinball as well. Only EU at this point but will soon be released in NA as well.

My recommendations:

Super Mario 3D Land
Mario Kart 7
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Pullblox/Pushmo
Mighty Switch Force
Zen Pinball

Got the 3DS a week ago and have been addicted ever since. Absolutely love it and everything else seems "flat" after playing games on here. Even 2D games like MSF look incredible with the 3D effect. With 3D enabled, it's like the 3DS screen feels bigger than it really is and you become genuinely immersed. This is after being completely unimpressed with PS3 and 360 on my 3DTV (I don't bother wearing glasses even for the likes of Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3). Can't wait until 2012's line-up.

Mainline Mario platformer + Zelda + Star Fox + Tetris + Pilotwings ---> First year alone (even if two are remakes, they're really damn good).

All we really need is Animal Crossing, Kirby, Metroid, Paper Mario (or a Mario & Luigi RPG), Fire Emblem, Smash Bros, and Pokemon till we go through Nintendo's main series. Considering 3 of the 7 are pretty much confirmed for next year, I'd say Nintendo is doing a good job with software at the moment.

7 games so far thanks to all the great sales this year. Curious what nintendo will have to offer after Kid Icarus comes out.

There is still some games we know about since the beginning (Animal crossing, Paper Mario) but obviously we will discover new titles at E3. And it will be 7+ month in june since Skyward Sword, and we hardly had in the last decade so much time without an announced new Zelda. (yeah, new Zelda cycle already).

I'm looking forward to Tekken, Animal Crossing and Paper Mario and Resident Evil:Revelations. My wallet :(

Got Zelda, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Street Fighter IV and Dead Or Alive Dimensions.

Got an awesome Zelda game, MK which justifies the console, and SM3DL while easy, the second part is awesome. And SFIV and Dead Or Alive !

The thing I hate though is this region locking, and not being able to play SMT Devil Survivor. Ah well I'm confident there'll be a solution in the near future (apart from buying a console from each region)

Grrrrrrrrr I just want demos :(

I have a feeling it's being saved for E3 , Smh if that happens.

I'm hyped for luigis mansion 2, hope it comes out in march but I can see it getting delayed

Everyone needs to buy Nano Assault and Ace Combat.
Two amazing games that provide hours of fun and are rock solid in pretty much every category.

Screens of Ace Combat:

Also, this topic should link back to the OTs of the games.
