I have about 4 parts left, but it seems like they knew all about
the true ending and fighting the real final boss, and how to get to that point, as well as knowing right what to say to not throw that guy in the tv

Plus someone in the comments (yes i read them for some reason) stated that someone sent Jeff a comic that pretty much spoiled it all like 3/4th of the way through their playthrough.
When people have asked for more ER's on Jartime and stuff, Jeff has said multiple times that people spoiling the game to "help" them factored into his lack of interest in doing more. And it's not like they can just stop looking at their emails and PM's.

But I am kinda glad they blatantly used a guide to get the true ending. Yeah, it's obvious as hell at times that they're feigning surprise, but it would suck for Charlie to go out on a bad end.

All that aside, I still think it's the best content series they've ever done. And seriously, what a fantastic game. I ended up buying it and playing through the whole thing shortly after the ER. But it still felt fresh because of all the other social links.

There were people on the GB forums who insisted that the P4 comic wasn't a spoiler. Fucking lunatics.

Yeah I remember jeff mentioning something about that too. It might have been on a bombcast around when they finished it.

I still think there's some good stuff in the last few episodes. I think you should watch them, especially having got so far through it.

It's pretty baffling that Patrick said free to play hasn't really come to the PC yet in the opening to the mobile game dumptruck. That business model has existed on the PC for years and years now and a good percentage of the biggest games on PC are free to play. League went free to play back in 2009 as a point of reference.

They should just disable comments on new ER videos--if it ever happens--and just get feedback from this thread since we're considerate
most of the time
and spoiler-paranoid. Plus EmCee can enforce spoiling rules.

Or Drew can just not read the comments.

He really said that?

Dan and Drew playing through MGS seems like a great idea for a ER.

They should do that. But it will just end up being infrequent premium content.

Actually is that 24 hour charity thing coming up?

I would guess that if you are not skipping cutscenes you would only be able to get through the first 2 games.

The comments were fun to read at the time though. There was a dude posting on nearly every video with an essay about what they were doing wrong and what they needed to do next.

Didn't Facebook practically start that shit?

like maple story and runescape and that shit is where it sort of came to be how it is now and that was like 4 years before facebook even existed and way longer than they ever implemented farmville or candy crush or whatever

but i mean you can make an argument that early 90s shareware was basically free to play with micro-transaction levels

It was worth it because it got them to queue up Wasteland 2 for another day.

Plus, pudding.

Is there a mailbag video or something where they unbox this? I bet there is.

It is some of the best art I've ever seen, and I'm glad the Giant Bomb crew knew exactly where to put it during livestreams.

It's from sometime in 2009, Police Sketch Jeff. I can't remember exactly where it originated though.

WHAT?

There was a thread on the forums like 5 years ago about drawing the GB guys. Someone drew The Jeff and produced... that. It became a meme on the boards, started creeping into GB videos, and eventually got framed when they moved to the CBS offices.

Yeah, I caught that too. I'm pretty sure the Free to play craze started on PC.

I finally got caught up on the last few podcasts and holy shit what a great addition Dan has been to the podcast. The Jose Canseco story alone is just such an incredible piece of Dan lore.

Also did anyone else feel like John Drake got weirdly direct and a little mean at the end of that episode? Like, yeah, him sending the email semi-anonymously was funny, and the discussion it produced was pretty funny, but I couldn't help but feel like it was more and more becoming a serious direct dig the longer it went on and kept being brought up. I dunno, it was a little weird. Otherwise John was a pretty great guest.

Being honest, I felt the same way with Drake.

Dan not being on this week's UPF really showed how much he adds to content. Really fantastic addition to the site.

Yup, dude brings buckets of energy that's really noticeable now when it's absent.

When it appeared in the Portal 2 quick look I almost died. One of the funniest, most unexpected moments in GB history.

I agree. I love Drake and I wish he was in more GB content, but I didn't expect him to jump so hard on the internet Dan bandwagon (Danwagon?).

Crazy how well Dan handles it, too. He reminds me of Švejk.

Very interesting, thanks for the info.

I didn't realise it was that old! GB has grown up right before my eyes.

Didn't someone on the GB forums draw it? Might be wrong.

EmCeeGramr jogged my memory and then Google did the rest:

Random question that should probably be asked to one of the guys on tumbr or something.

After 3 offices and 7(?) years, have they been carrying around the exact same A4 printout of Shaq's face or have they printed out a new copy after every move?

hahaha so I've been watching those unarchived videos and that same thought definitely crossed my mind too.

Having watched the My Ex-Boyfriend the Space Tyrant QL, I'm shocked Vinny and Alex spent such a long time with the game. It just seemed so middling... but at least flirtbot was good.

It'll be a shame if flirtbot doesn't show up again in the game, because it seemed like the only thing that could deliver on the humour (in a way that I liked.)

There's several layers of awesome going on around this portrait - even now.

Again, thanks so much for the info!
