i got poor performance with my 7870xt crossfire (forced) and i7 950 @ 3.9ghz
On rempart framerate is drop to 20 when i move stabilizing at 32 -40 depending of the scene with volumetric ligthing off with settings > intermediate
It's even worst without crossfire (i was thinking it was not working)
resolution seems to not to improve the situation or a little (i tried 900p and 720p)
I am cpu bootlenecked ?

Ok. The PS4 patch fixes the tearing right up. I just happened to pop out of the game (since you can do that now with the PS4 update) to check trophy and saw that a patch had been downloaded. Got back in and there is a noticeable drop in tearing.
"Noticeable drop" implies that there is still some, though? Glad to hear it's improving but I was hoping it'd be completely gone.

Also, any crashes on PS4 yet? Since my PC can't run this at 1080p apparently, I suppose I'll get it for PS4. I hope that one is stable. How is the framerate?

Okay so, my 980 SLI setup struggles on this game.

Post processing is broken and VRAM usage is through the roof (4k for 1080p and 1440P)

Any tips? I'd like to play over 60fps on my ROG Swift -.-

Did you try disabling crossfire at all?

I tried forcing AA with Nvidia but I started crashing at start-up and randomly in-game. I disabled all Nvidia overrides and now I'm not crashing at all. If anyone else is having issues with crashes, maybe this will help you. I'm still getting meh performance though, with fullscreen windowed being my best option. FPS at around 50 outdoors and 60 inside. It's not too big of a deal, but I hoped I found out what's causing it, or it gets fixed soon.

Oops, realized I wasn't even going the right way. I wasn't fighting the shield dudes that stab at you. Those guys are cake, it's ones with a giant great shield. Don't even bother going that way if you're going through there, it's a dead end for now.

Cleric must the only class the comes with its 1st spell unlocked. I played as many of the classes and none of them have the spell unlocked from the start. The only one I have tried is full cleric.

Aren't there only three "classes" to begin with? Anyway, the "Cleric" doesn't start with it unlocked. It might be the blue tree that does it, because I picked the green, stealth based tree with the Cleric and I still had to spend points to unlock the Decoy.

Haven't had any issues yet, but the positional audio really sucks ass in this game. Not that it's needed to detect anything, but it just kills some of the immersion when enemies in front are groaning to the side or behind. And even after death they seem to groan for around five seconds.

Not forcing anything, well except the sli profile (official profile)

Okay so, apparently the shitty framerate gets fixed pretty ok by changing whatever nvidia is "using" to use physx. Example: if your nvidia control panel says its using the cpu for physx, and you have poopy framerate, change it to GPU and it should be fixed.
Atleast according to this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuLYSgZSPj4&feature=youtu.be

problem is: no way to do this on AMD, so i'm fucked i guess? hopefully people find some solutions in INI settings or something.

Well, I tried playing it again to see whether those two crashes were a fluke, and it crashed again after about 10mins. Sigh. A real shame too.

Well you choose a build and then a tree, but the trees seem very linked to the builds anyway. The blue tree has very clericesque abilities. Green has very stealth based and the red is more warrior based. I assume he means the blue tree when he says cleric. :p

Not got anything being forced.

Well you're CPU bottlenecked and LotF doesn't support Crossfire (yet). I'm rocking a i5-4590s and it's still eating my CPU... and my video card's 3GB VRAM.

Witchfinder General

and just had my first crash on PC so I'm gonna leave this alone until they address the issues

Me too. Grinding in the very first are, making enemies respawn by going in and out of the first portal.

I hope a patch is put up quickly. Shame the devs aren't posting on the Steam forum for this game.

Also what the hell is up with the post-proccess shit they are doing? Makes it look like im playing sub-hd. Thinking about turning off the setting and just living with it being a little uglier to get past that horrible effect.

Naw, the "class" changes depending on the combination of magic tree and starting armor set you pick. At character creation it says in the bottom of the screen what the "class" is and what your starting differences are. I think Cleric could be something like Paladin, Ranger and Cleric for example.

That's probably the Chromatic Abberation. Makes the game look blurrier.

So how are u leveling up before the 1st boss to use the spell if we don't get to access the upgrade station until you beat him? I guess in that confusion I assumed that class starts out with the spell unlocked.

As for the classes if you use the deception tree with the cleric or warrior equipment your starting stats are different. As well as the number of potions & magic shards you start with. This is true of all classes, so there's more than 3 starter classes but still only 3 spell trees.

So before the 4th boss where you have to collect some plates for a side quest, well, the questgiver disappeared and is nowhere to be found. i found the second piece just now but is it too late?

Someone suggested running the SETUP.EXE in the SteamApps/Lords of the Fallen/_CommonRedist (or similar) folder

It's the DirectX installer.

I ran it, and haven't crashed as soon as I normally do - haven't crashed this session at all.

Oh my GOD!!!!!!!! This game crashed less when I was reviewing it. Now that I have time to enjoy it more I can't go more than 10 minutes before it crashes and nothing has changed. They need to patch this crap and ASAP.

Welcome to eurojank, enjoy your stay. I'm confident patches will eventually take care of the worst of these stability problems.

This game is ambitious as is for a small German developer, it would've been awesome if they had managed to pull it off, but expecting AAA polish was just not realistic.

Green tree is rogue. Your class is determined by your spell selection, not your starting gear. Blue / Cleric starts out with a spell.

Got it on xb1, been playing and streaming since about 5 pm central. Ive beaten the first 2 bosses and got a little farther...

But then it froze lol.

So this game is definately a bit glitchy and its performance isnt very good. I feel like the resolution is less that 900p on xb1.. but who the fuck knows. It just looks a bit blurry, but not bad.

But the most important factor is that im having fun. The first 2 boss encounters were good, and I look forward to seeing whats next. There are tons of branching paths that weave back together, it feels alot more like a dark souls 1 world, not dark souls 2 (where nothing really connected).

good game so far

If it is physx, i hope someone will find how to disable them
if not, i don’t understand what all this CPU power is used for

Turn PhysX off or at least to its lowest setting.

Xb1 version

I went to turn off the "show quest dialogue at all times", but it never actually turned it off. The "Find _____" was always in the corner.

Just got back from getting this. Decided to impulse buy it. Looks like something i'll enjoy from the videos i've seen. Damn at it having a 5 gig patch though.

I found a way to stop it maxing it the VRAM (Atleast 1440p)

You need to reduce the resolution then change it back, drops it from 4050 ish to 3850-3900 which removes the stutter

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Anyone want to test and answer these?

- i-frames on fat/medium/light roll
- i-frames on fat/medium/light jump
- framerate, tearing (PS4)
- multiplier cap (does it exceed 2.0?)
- hit cancel animations and frame delays per weapon type
- timing on parries (how strict it is, compared to Demon's, Dark 1 and Dark 2)
- delay required before being able to backstab

There should be a PC performance thread. Anyone who has it and can comment on performance should make it.

Green tree is rogue. Your class is determined by your spell selection, not your starting gear. Blue / Cleric starts out with a spell.

Not true it's a combination of both. Brawler spells+cleric equipment = Brawler. Brawler spell+warrior equipment = warrior. Deception spells + warrior equipment = Raider. Deception + cleric = Executioner & on & on. Your class is located on the summary screen.

Can someone explain the parry/riposte mechanic?

I parried one dude, and expected him to be on the ground ala Souls. Instead, he just stood there.

How do I riposte?
Was I supposed to backstab?

What does the gauntlet do? My game temporarily froze after you pick it up and when it unfroze the tutorial pop up appeared and disappeared in a split second so I couldn't see what it does or if its something I can equip. I looked in my inventory but I couldn't see it.

I figured I'd give it one more go and got past where I crashed the first time and made it outside. Now I'm seeing the frames drop to the 40's while the indoors seemed pretty smooth at 60 (or a frame or 2 below) the whole time.

Starting to wonder if I made a mistake picking the rogue class. First area and boss where easy enough, but I feel like I've come across a wall now. I'm struggling with the 2nd boss (have died a couple of times) because I feel like I'm not putting out enough damage while taking too much to have a chance. Also does anyone else have an advice on - not sure if a spoiler but just in case -
the green spider right before the checkpoint where the woman and the 2nd boss are
. I keep getting my ass handed to me by that thing.

Edit: Oops. Fixed spoiler tag.

The patch definitely improved the games performance, glitches and tearing.

Is there a way to reset AP and SP?

Damn folks take it to a pc performance thread.

I've clicked on "Last Page" like 3 times today to hopefully read some impressions and boy isn't this post the truth. I mean I get that PC settings need to be discussed but oy vey...

Currently struggling with that boss too (as a Rogue). I switched from daggers to a hammer and dealt some more damage but dude has wrecked me at least a dozen times. As for the spoiler,
I cheesed it with the gauntlet
.
