It's interesting that the blog(at least the US one) hasn't even put up the usual preview post. It's like they're embarrassed or something.

I was going to say about this, I know these games are final but has it been announced officially anywhere yet? The US and Europe blog still haven't announced the titles and they're out in a few days, They've never been this late before. Worried about the backlash of no retail games on any platforms and still no DriveClub?

Well they privated the video in the OP. I doubt they change anything, though.

The way I see it either they're trying to do some last minute change to put a bigger/retail game in to appease for DriveClub plus edition being indefinitely delayed (probably instead of Steamworld Dig)

OR it's to reduce the internet rage they'll inevitably get when they don't mention DriveClub or give any retail games, even on PS3..

Probably the second one

EDIT: not that I have anything against Steamworld Dig. I'm looking forward to trying it, it'd just be missed less than Binding of Isaac

The delayed blog post has nothing to do with being embarrassed (lol) about the lineup, and everything to do with the up in the air status of driveclub.

Yeah... soooo embarrassed that they are offering a great game, just like their competition did. What would holding onto that information prove? XBone already had Volgarr announced prior to the leak. Stop talking shit.

You jumped into the argument and didn't even bother to read it. The games they are giving are much smaller scale, point fest, type games. People want a game they can sink their teeth into, not time killers or extreme skill based type games. Knack isn't a great game by any stretch, but it has a campaign mode with a story that has production values. It has a linear story with a good length of gameplay and collectables. There is an inherent difference between indies and retails.
man this post is fucking depressing

bad gameplay lol

I'd actually be legit disappointed if they replaced Steamworld with something else. I've been wanting to play it for a while now but never enough to actually buy it.

Binding of Isaac metacritic for its original version is 30 points higher than knack, and people are seriously askin for knack instead if it? LOL
I'm not asking for knack (I don't know why everyone asks for knack, it's like they pick the worst retail game out there for ps plus to argue against retail titles), but binding of Isaac art style doesn't do anything for me and it doesn't look like a game I would be interested in. It feels like a very niche game and I think that's the difference when we are talking indies vs retail, indies are much more niche, while retail have wider appeal, some games may not score well but ppl want to play them anyway because there's something about them that appeals.

As of April, 2013, Binding of Isaac sold 2 million copies on Steam, not including what has already pre-sold on Steam for Rebirth or the original since then. Rebirth sold more copies in it's first three days than Dead Rising 3 sold in it's first, according to Edmund. Calling Isaac niche, and then ignoring the hundreds of thousands of lets play videos, some with over a million views is just talking shit.

Stop talking shit.

well tastes are tastes, but all given and considered...
this lineup is made of indie or dirty cheap games...
well, for me it's more or less fine, i buy pretty much all the game i want @launch, so for me ps+ is just icing the cake, but i can understand the disappointment for a LOAD of indie title, that while decent/good if taken by themselves, devalue the ps+ from the buyer perspective since everyone here is still living in the 2013, when every ps+ month was bliss... :)

While IndiesOnlyGAF likes to pretend all retail games are like Knack, It's also because there's an assumption that Knack will be one of the first retail titles should they ever come back. Knack is seen as the weakest of the launch games(though some people like it). It's first party which means that Sony doesn't need to negotiate with a 3rd party and it's only costing them their lost sales on a game that's currently just over $20 on Amazon and will have been out for over a year. It's probably the game with the lowest cost and effort for Sony to put on there.

People should probably think of Knack as a rite of passage that will be required in order to get to the better games, should they ever come.

holy cow, binding of isaac rebirth on ps+ right at release? that's so perfect. i can't wait to play it constantly at work like i did with the original.

Still no Blog update on the games, I haven't received the email either, To the people who did receive it, Did it list all 6 games? comments about it from someone on the eu blog said it only listed Frozen Synapse, Binding of Isaac, and The Hungry Horde (at least for the eu)

I can confirm that the EU PS+ newsletter didn't list all the games, only those three.

One game per system as usual, seems legit to me.

I hope they don't touch anything, at least not Escape Plan and Luft. Not even THH: after all we still don't know if it's good or bad, i'd like to try it since it kind of looks like TW101 (but I may be wrong as I haven't played TW101)

It's likely coming Monday. Because of the issues with Driveclub, they've needed to make some adjustments. Nothing changes for November, but they may be also teasing some things that will be coming.

Well, that makes no sense. Why delay the announcement because of "adjustments" if they won't have any impact on the offers?

I don't really disagree with your point but comparing it to the sales of Dead Rising 3 is incredibly silly. That was an exclusive launch title. Why would you even bring that up?

Because now they're apparently going to tease some future stuff, which they weren't doing originally. The person who typically handles the blog post was on vacation, so they might be a little slower on a course correction.

I don't really see the point of teasing future stuff, but I suppose they might be trying to divert attention from the current games on offer (I'm happy with them, but most people don't seem to be and are very vocal about it) and the Drive Club fiasco.

Oh well. I'll be happy as long as I get my hands on Binding of Isaac.

DR3 released on steam around the same time as Rebirth, and someone was asking edmund if he was happy with the sales. He couldn't give out hard sales numbers (Valve NDA doesn't allow it), so he gave this as a comparison.

It's relevant because one has a marketing budget and a highly anticipated AAA games, and one is a indie game with little advertising beyond being announced as a IGC title on release, yet sales of rebirth were very respectable. It's even more relevant in a discussion of AAA vs indie, and someone stating that isaac is some obscure niche title (implying the AAA games he wants are not niche.)

Edit: Beat to it by just a couple minutes!

I believe the poster is referring to the PC port of Dead Rising 3 on Steam, a comparison that the devs of BoI made themselves.

I'd be happy if they keep putting out new indie games, I already have Knack and Killzone which I'd imagine would be the first big retail games to hit PS+.

I have no knowledge of any of these games. Are they any fun?

Binding of Issac and Steamworld are both very fun games... if you get into them. They are games that are either completely loved by the person, or they hate it alot due to how the gameplay works. Steamworld Dig has you just going into a underground cave digging stuff up, and you get more upgrades and cool things as you go, I enjoyed it, but I've seen many that didn't and thought it was like Chores. Also Binding of Issac is a Roguelike, so each playthrough will last like 5 mins to longer than an hour depending on how good you do and the drops you get. Frozen Synapse is a fun Tactical Strategy game, but I don't know how that is gonna control on the PS3. I never really could get into Escape Plan or Luftrasuers (I spelt it wrong didn't I lol) Binding of Issac and Steamworld are pretty much the star of this month.

Have to say I am interested in this month for sure.

Going by some posts on this thread and what I heard previously the games being offered like Isaac, Steamworld, and Luftrausers are solid games. Never played Isaac so trying the Rebirth version for the first time should be interesting.

Almost all of them being playable on my Vita is even better.

Steamworld Dig is a lot of fun. Don't know about the others as I haven't played them yet, but Lufrausers, Isaac and Frozen Synapse should all be great games, Escape Plan should be a fine game and we don't know much about The Hungry Horde

Maybe December will be when they announce their first retail PSN+ game. They have to do it for Christmas season. They should go all out and give both Knack and Killzone Shadow Fall for free that month. Surely people are not buying those games anymore.

I wouldn't mind that, but I think it's unlikely that they'll offer those two simultaneously, considering there's not that many first party games they can pick from.

the only embarrassing thing about the lineup are the people who don't want to play Isaac.

Seriously. It's been my most anticipated game for quite a few months. I can't believe it's finally here!

Are we getting the PS4 version of Escape Plan too? It's the only game I care about this month. Isaac's art style does nothing for me. PEACE.

I know! The whole community seems to be buzzing with excitement.

I hope the game doesn't get too drowned out this month with all the other big releases across all platforms Unless the game is a buggy mess, I can't imagine this won't be GOTY for me.

IndiesOnlyGAF

No one is saying "indies only, plz!!!" The people on here who aren't asking for AAA have said, over and over, that it isn't a preference towards indies so much as it is a preference for good games. If Sony wants to put the next uncharted, TLoU remaster, or another, actually good AAA game on IGC, then please do so! It's just incredibly unlikely due to how new the PS4 is. As people have said, we just want good games and when people ask for Knack or Killzone, they are saying "I want shit on principle" or have a unreasonable bias against indie games.

What are the chances 2.0 fucked something up with one of those games like it did with Evolve, and thats why there is no post yet on PS+.
