Dragon Age: Inquisition |OT| As the Blight fades, BioWare returns

I'm stuck in emprise Du lion. One half of the map is completely blocked by massive mountains and I can't do the Templar missions. How do I get to the bottom right side of the map?

I've had problems in certain places that required me to move to 2 tanks and 2 mages. The only problem is that the tanks rinse through potions like there's an infinite supply. Might trade one out for a 2 hander warrior or ranged rogue.

Tanks shouldn't really be taking much damage if you're doing things well.

Keep good armor equipped.

Draw Aggro with Taunts.

Toss up your shield and hold it there.

Build your guard.

This will usually require manually controlling your tank until you get at least a few ticks of Guard up.

Nightmare is definitely the way to go if you are intent on doing a Completionist run. I started on Hard, but then restarted on Nightmare. There's just so much good content to explore that you can outlevel the content and/or be decked our in good crafted gear.

You still have tons of game left. Keep playing ;)

Thanks that's what I figured.
I have to give credit to the designers. These landscapes look so unique from place to place while using some of the same assets. I never feel like one place feels identical to another.
I have to admit at about 15 hours in I stopped reading a lot of the books I find. Just give me my +50 exp and lets roll.

Gah; My save corrupted on PS4.

Talked to one of the requisition officers that had a ! on his head. She turned and said something (no dialog popped up); Tried again (still no dialog); Read a book off a table; then warped to finish the quest. The game crashed to the OS with an error. Went into game to continue. "CORRUPT SAVE";

Deleted that file from the data management on PS4 and it allowed me to use my previous saves. Still lost 45 minutes+. Reinforces why I have 5-10 saves at any given time and upload them to the cloud every day.... This is like 50+ hours in too.

You're still in the super constrained tutorial area, too.

Do that mission and behold.

Still no new news about the patch?

Patch 1 is in QA, developers are working on the next patch.

I rarely manually control the tanks. Do you turn off all AI for nightmare? I want to leave it on, but it's probably doing more harm than good.

Turn off?

Good heavens, no.

I use Tactical mode in about 5% of battles, but I control me Inquisitor Tank at the start of most fights.

Set Mage AI to follow themselves by name for them to keep place. Not that important, but useful.

For the most part, the AI is good with spamming spells and the right AoE. All four branches of magic have a lot to offer. Ice Passives are great, but their damage output is not. Freezing enemies is super useful though.

Those of you getting hit with the banter bug. Has it been consistent or did it start midway in a playthrough? I've gotten a lot of banter in the Hinterlands when I had Varric/Solas/Cass, but now that I've switched them out and around a bit, I'm not getting banter at nearly the same frequency as I'd expect. :/

I love how many bugs and glitches I get to experience in this game. Today's new bug: main character can't move! Yesterday it was not being able to heal anyone. Then there was the "no dialogue is coming so I have to skip the conversation"bug.

Of course each day I get the "sound effects aren't working"bug.

They really did release this game in such a shitty state. As I put more hours in the game really gets worse. No focus to the missions at all and it seems they just wanted to keep adding more fetch quests to artificially increase the length of the game.

This combined with the worst menu system I think I've ever used really is killing the initial excitement I had.

OT2 | WHERE IS THE PATCH ALREADY?

Seriously, have they said anything about the patch other than its coming "soon?" Its been 2 weeks already and haven't heard much besides that they're working on it.

I kind of just want to know if I should keep abstaining from playing if its coming in a matter of days or if I should just get back to the game if its still going to be weeks before this patch ever hits?

The map uses a progression system, you unlock the map by unlocking the camps as you go instead of the usual open system or the crappy "go back to the war table". Just kinda follow the road.

What's the point of recruiting agents? Is it just for influence?

They also count as a perk selection. So to get Deft Hands perk you need 4 perks in the Secrets section. Agents count. So if you have 2 perks and 2 agents, you will be able to select Deft hands the next time you get an Inquisition perk

Bioware is always slow with patches.

If only my penis was as big as my GamerScore!
I love this game, but WTF tactical mode? It's such garbage and in many situations unusable. I hope they address this with a patch, but come on Bioware. Why is the camera fixed to the ground and constrained under roofs? And press R3 to move cursor up ladders? Are you kidding me with this crap?

They also count for perks conditions, which is useful to unlock some of the perks earlier, like Deft Hands, you just recruit 3agents, put one point in secrets and you can get it, instead of picking a bunch of fillers.

Edit: Too late :(

Lol dude you totally failed with that blackwall thing you put in spoilers lol. There's even a quests about it with Big consecuences.

There is, but it doesn't occur till after you have him. We were discussing what happens when people -join- the party, not later. As I said previously, most of the companions are a slow burn as far as finding out what is interesting about them.

What's the best specialization for the Warrior? Reaver, Champion or Templar?

My team is a Qunari Warrior with Iron Bull with basically the same abilities up front wrecking shit. I really like his ability tree so I'm probably going to go with Reaver and Vivienne and Dorian in the back.

Templar is pretty good. Since Iron Bull is already a reaver, you might want to switch it around for your character. Being able to stun everything and damage demons is a great help.

What is the patch supposed to fix?

I played 8 hours of Unity before Dragon Age Inquisition. This game is polished as hell by comparison. No open world game will have enough Q&A to trouble shoot every single situation.

That's my attitude.

All games in the "Huge RPG" genre are buggy at launch. This has been far better than most.

Well, I played a significant amount of Unity before DAI, and I had way less issues with it than DAI.

Such is the nature of bugs, though. Sometimes you'll hit them, other times you won't.

Neither game I've found particularly unplayable though. I was prevented from doing character quests in DAI, and I have to reload the game quite a bit due to characters not appearing when they should and such, bugged animations preventing me from ressing characters, npcs acting dodgey. Minor annoyances which I wish wasn't there.

Anyone experience issues if they leave their PS4 on too long? Left mine on overnight, paused on the PS home screen. Went back to the game and traveled to a location...game and audio was stuttering like crazy. Had to restart the PS4.

On a gameplay related note...I wish shards weren't in the game. They just feel like filler and really clutter up the quest map.

People leave their consoles on over night?

Where is this treasure!???

Sorry for the late reply. It's called the Sulevin Blade. First you gotta go here and read a note: http://i.imgur.com/yyiiMJg.png

It opens up a war map mission. Go and do it. That unlocks some elven ruins. Go complete the ruins and you'll get a destroyed weapon. Take that sword to Dagna and she'll turn it into this puppy.

The passive is so good. I'm not sure if there's any way to make that passive yourself, but I don't think so. Not to mention the +42 Strength which I think is impossible to attain but natural means. I was critting knocked down mages for like 6k with Mighty Blow.

So what do people think the Official Bioware canon inquisitor is going to be?

DA:O it was originally a Human Noble warrior that survived the Archdemon by knocking up Morrigan though that was changed recently to be a Dalish Female that was martyred

DA2: has always been Male Mage Hawke

What do you think Inquisitor is going to be come DA4 or whatever they call it

Still can't believe they changed the canon of DA:O. Way to make the canon the most boring one from a story standpoint. :I

Agreed, my canon has always been a Human Noble warden, that said my Hawke is a rogue, was the most fun class for me and i cant imagine a world state without Bethany <3

How did they "change the canon"? You mean whatever the default world state guy is or...?

the default world state. In Dragon age 2, default warden was Hero of Fereldan, martyred elf was #2, Ahole Dwarf #3. in Inquisition default warden is Martyred elf any other option involves the Dragon age keep
