MGSV CE may have worldwide supply shortages; Possibly missing DLC codes

Welp I'm fucked aren't I.

We were under very strict guidance that the CE was ship-to-home only. The only other time I saw that for something that we sold was the Majora's Mask n3DS XL, and we all know how that turned out.

So do you think I should call the actual store first and then just regular old Bestbuy support to change the shipping?

The problem with your order being changed to store pickup is that the allotment numbers for best buys are already set. So you have to hope that they actually get one in and that they actually set it aside.

Edit - I have no idea how but somehow my July 31st BB preorder is still NOT back ordered. Makes no sense. Probably inevitable.

Covert ops basically then.
Makes sense with MGSV coming out.

Pre orders have changed. It's no longer about guaranteeing a copy, bonuses or day 1 deals. It's an endless series of customer service battles, fought by customers and outsourced workers from India.

ID-tagged customers purchase ID-tagged games, use ID-tagged retailer accounts. Day 1 fever inside their bodies enhance and regulate their hype. DLC control. Platform control. Packaging control. Everything is monitored and kept under control.

I'm honestly losing hope that anyone that works at Amazon talks to each other. After seeing the concerns in the thread I emailed Amazon as my order wasn't updated at all but still said shipping on time. So I asked and got an email explaining that things are backordered etc. But hours later the site hasn't changed the status either.
I need reassurance am I crazy?
Is my ocd overwhelming me?

Also I'd be pissed if the dlc wasn't included with the ce not because it's dire or especially important but because ordering something like this is signing up for a promise of sorts not for the quality of the game itself (which can't be guaranteed) but for the extraneous crap that is supposed to bundled with it at least.

The age of pre orders has become the age of delays. All in the name of averting catastrophe from customers who just want their game. And he who controls the pre orders, controls the supply. Pre orders have changed. When the supply is under total control, pre order... becomes routine.

Someone in here posted that Konami will provide DLC codes to retailers and they will send those out to those missing it. I wouldn't panic, at worst you'll have to nag Amazon CS for your code next week

Assuming I even get it since neither end is clear one way or the other but yeah.

Don't worry guys, you won't need those codes, they're just going to cancel MGO3 and say it never got past that demo we saw last year.

It'll all be fine!

If I don't get my freaking big boss arm heads will roll!
At this point I think I might just pre order the standard edition and if when the CE ever comes I'll just return the unsealed copy it comes with. I told myself I wouldn't get any more collectors edition but 100 for that arm was too sweet to pass up!

Decided to compare my MGS pre-order on Amazon with my Fallout one and noticed some differences. Hopefully that means something is working.

Any issues with Target.com? I was already dreading how long it'd take for them to ship but now shortages have me worried.\

Edit: Fuck, estimated delivery is: 09/03/2015-09/09/2015

I got an email yesterday saying it was shipped. (PS4 CE) The tracking number they gave me is bogus due to some technical glitch according to the chat representative. It says UPS. I have the same estimated delivery date as you too.

Don't get why anyone would want to display a prosthetic arm and the steelbook in the CE looks terrible. Not sure why they made two different versions of it and put the inferior one in the super expensive CE.

Im selling the arm and the leather box. Basically only keeping the documentary disc. I actually like the steelbook though (the EU one is still far superior)

Really wanted the CE. Are they sold out everywhere? I can't get it at Amazon, so will I have to show my face in a gamestop?

So I'm confused because I have both of those reserved as well but my orders look like this, yet everything else seems to be the same? I did order my MGSV later than you but would that effect that last tiny bit of the green bar?

Cause

1. Big Boss' arm is cool as heck
2. Kojima would want me to have it and also thinks it's cool as heck
3. it's cool as fuck i want it. even if it's the inferior arm. also, what? the larger arm edition is way more expensive.
4. only $40 extra and includes everything else
