Fuck. If you upgrade your chopper make sure you select the new model in the customize menu. I've had a 2x better chopper deployment time for hours and didn't realize it didn't automatically apply the new one.

Edit: also I'd recommend people call in different Camouflage drops if they notice the scenery changing/are moving into bases.

The blatant 'camo index' isn't on screen any more but camouflage definitely makes an impact

Doesn't seem necessary to me yet. Most I've seen is 30 minute waiting times for building new MB platforms. And on that screen I didn't see any option for microtransactions.

Longer missions take a full 2-3 hours sometimes, so I don't forsee waiting times being much of an issue.

When I call in my chopper it comes in SECONDS now rather than what felt like over a minute before.

The no steam preload thread was closed, now I'm reading all kinds of shit in here I don't really want to know. Not spoilers, but I was avoiding this thread to go in as fresh as possible.

Precisely how I feel. Made very little sense to close it. We count countdown to the games release together if it is releasing at a different time on the PC platform.

The respawning outposts are a little annoying. That's my gripe so far.

Bigger bases I can understand but when I want to get to an objective, it's annoying having to take those guys out for the 5th or 6th time.

Also, there needs to be more routes that don't require you to go on the road. There are some here and there but they are mostly blocked off, especially in the canyon areas in Afghanistan.
 
So how easy is it to get "GNP" or whatever it is that speeds up development?

I don't need any specifics on how to get it, I just want to know how attainable it is.
 
So, early game havers, any final word on the relevancy of these for FOBs? Do you have to spend money to have more than one, as was hypothesized earlier?

Problem is servers won't be up till release day so yeah, we're gonna find out with you guys.

EDIT: Or atleast with the people that can make FOBs because I think you cannot do FOBs from the start until much later as you progress.

So, outside of FOBs, how do these MB Coins work in the single-player experience? Base building and weapon research can take real time (up to a half hour I've seen so far) but you can use MB Coins to skip the wait? Are there any other uses for MB Coins that aren't FOB-related?

It took me ages to find the way to the Honey Bee... And I think I was too fast in that mission. Took me not even an hour. And the Skullface troops are scary as fuck - I didn't even bother using the HB but one time and then I ran for my life. Eventually it worked out pretty well.

No one knows yet due to the servers not being turned on. FOB bases are purely online only and are different to mother base. As other have posted the microtransactions have nothing to do with development time of mother base

Didn't encounter FOBs yet - could be that servers aren't live yet.

I wonder if the patch has added longer development times to the weapons.

I noticed in all the early streams from people who broke the street date, that almost none of the weapons had a development time that wasn't instant.

I've had two difficult missions now where I've been trying to figure out a way in and a sandstorm has hit so I've just cheesed it through everyone without being spotted or headshotting people who I run close enough to, Feels cool but can't help feeling like I cheated the missions

Will probably see how much things cost when the servers go online, can totally see me picking up some MB coins to get some bigger FOB plots.

I played it post-patch, and all the things I can develop other than new MB platforms are still instantaneous.

(10 hours in, so early level items)

When MGSV unlocks on Steam, does Steam being to automagically download the game, or does I needs to activate it somehow? Thinking if I have to install TeamViewer on my computor or not.

Interesting. You didn't fight them? I destroyed the fuck out of them.
