Geoff: "I have to drive out this demon inside me."
You know what the terrible thing is? We can't hurt Konami. They've already made millions from TPP, it already brought them probably more money than they initially anticipated. And now, they've taken the money and ran.
You guys ever see a movie where the bad guy wins? Well, this right here is exactly that.
So, Mark Hamill (or at least his Twitter staff) just liked my tweet about this just now.
No thank you Kojima for this legacy that YOU created.
Set him free!
Geoff: "I have to drive out this demon inside me."
When he was still developing his game, he was locked out of his entire development studio, the bedrock for any director. His company, his name, his face, his identity, everything was stolen from him.
This world will become one. I have found the way. Race, console affiliation, all will be irrelevant. The world that Kojima envisioned will finally become a reality, and it will make gaming whole again.
With this, I rid the world of infestation, aller vous faire foutre Konami. The company will be torn asunder... and then, he shall be free.
Remember when Kojima met George Miller? i have rarely seen him smile so happy.
I'm sure he would have LOVED to meet Mark Hamill, especially since he's such a big Star Wars fan.
Fucking hell
This is how Outer Heaven was created. Kojima, if you build it, we will come!
artists typically respect other mediums. george miller probably does not play video gamesYou know, I have always wondered if the movie people Kojima meets actually play videogames or even takes them seriously as a form of art/expression.
If Gamers really "hated" EA then they would not allow record breaking sales for EA year after year. Look at EA's stock price after becoming the "most hated company in America."
This is such an unfortunate situation...by supporting Kojima and buying MGS5, we're also filling Konami's pockets and ensuring their operational survival.

OMG guys now that i think about it it makes sense
hatred of Konami will unify the gaming community
consoles will be irrelevent
its so fucking meta it hurts
Konami are The Patriots
Dude it's not a ruse. You don't publicly call out a company like that and make light of an already shitty situation just for a joke. And for what?
That is the thing tho. Seems like people going out of their way to make this a really big issue. Not too long ago Keighley did a podcast where he talked about that moby dick studios prank. He explained it like Kojima and a bunch of Konami reps/lawyers got into a room with him. They forced him to sign all these papers explaining the prank and how it will be etc. Seeing this stuff now just seems fishy. Seems kinda coordinated but wtvr.
Its really messed up they didn't let him accept the award for a game he worked so long on. Also fucked up Kiefer Sutherland was allowed to accept the award (of all the people involved with mgs over the years) and not someone else.

I haven't follow this whole...thing at all.
What exactly cause this huge rift between Kojima and Konami? I get that they're basically leaving the gaming industry but why treat him like a piece of shit?

Hopefully the contract is over soon
Sometime in December afaik.
They wouldn't let him accept the Playstation award reported on earlier today. Many in that thread were saying it was no big deal because he was in LA to accept this one... obviously, that's not the case.
#FucKonami
You know, despite some of the questionable decisions made in regards to the game, story and characters, TPP was still fantastically fun. Hats off to Kojima, a true visionary and it's such a shame it came to what happened several hours ago. Konami deserves the scorn it's getting.

Man, Konami is petty as shit.
Also, I couldn't get over how many "uhs" and pauses Geoff made
Some reports say he kept scrapping the project and starting over, and that spilled into the budget massively. Corporate put their foot down, and are moving on to greener pastures with more return and less uncertainty.
The sheer volume of love and support being replied to that one tweet alone is mind blowing.
