How is Beyond Good and Evil 2 going to play on that thing ?
Nintendo reading this thread like
Nintendo having to convert the haters again.
Nintendo winning in the end as usual
Happy to be proven right that it's real, but I'm a lot less happy that ill need to deal with this nonsense to play my Zeldas and my Marios
My hands are pretty sweaty basically a lot of the time. This console will be mu private hell
Can't see this working well with any of Nintendo's properties. Smash? Nope. Need some type of physical buttons for a fighting game. 2D Mario? Nope, not enough precision. 3D Mario? Nope, need more precision in controls. Zelda, precision. I can't see this working.

Yep.Of course. Nintendo are a game company and have been one for much longer than apple's foray into gaming.
I am thinking that could be the case as well. As I said in the other thread, that type of controller would be pricey, and it would be a big benefit for it to be a stand-alone portable. GoFreak appears to have a similar idea too.Unless the handheld is a controller as well.
You wanna know why this controller doesn't have buttons?
Listen to this week's bombcast, 2:55:15.
An entire generation of gamers now exists who use hardware without buttons and think that traditional consoles are wastes of money and are designed for old people.
It's happened. We are the old men yelling at clouds from our porches. An entire generation of gamers is looking to pass us by. Nintendo isn't looking to get into a fist fight with Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo is looking to get into a fist fight with iOS and Android. And considering how poorly those ecosystems are managed when it comes to gaming, it's a fight they can win.
Just like we did it on the D-pad.
And let's not get nuts, you'll get a stick or a pad for fighting games the same way we do now. But even then, consider that the iOS and 3DS versions of SF4 are MILLION SELLERS.

I can't think of anything less "nintendo" than replacing buttons, considering how their games are designed around consistent inputs. If this is real it means they basically have no idea what the fuck is going on.
this stan talk isn't going to change any course Nintendo has set just like it didn't change Gaga's trajectory with ARTPOP, there is no "winning" here
IF it's Massive Entertainment, isn't anyone excited that NX might get The Division? People seem really excited by that game.
But you can put direct access to your menu and the kick/special on the touchscreen. How is that not reliable?
So the face of the leaker or one of his devs friends is reflecting on the display.

Pretty much on point. Nintendo don't want old man money.
Games are going to aim to get simpler to reach a wider audience.

If there are paddles + the scroll triggers I don't see what the issue is. 4 inputs on each side + analog + on screen buttons is more than enough.I will have to be convinced that a controller with no buttons can work in games that require precision (i.e. platformers, FPS, fighters, etc...). Then I'll be excited.
That same audience was also raised on hand me down iPhones or cheap $99 Chinese android tablets, and on the concept of paying exactly $0.00 for game software. And it's a set of ecosystems that even Microsoft with all of their money and might has yet to really crack. Good luck with that, Nintendo. I'm sure parents are just itching to buy their touch screen kids $200-300 dedicated video game consoles and $30-40 games again.
Where are the buttons?
If it's some touch screen shit... lol.
Unless they design games around the controller...which they most certainly will.
It's not the handheld, it's the home console controller. It says it right there!Ahh the stick to replace the buttons. I missed that.
Its the handheld folks.
Ok, The Wiimotes did have only 1 stick. They did go to 2 for the Wii U. Maybe they are going back to 1 stick?
Cant be for home console, its missing too many other buttons. Shoulder buttons must gonna press in like L/R shoulder buttons. Like how mouse wheels do now. Still got the scroll wheels but they also press in.
I'd bet folding money we get a Direct within the next week.
In what context?
Indeed but they are probably working on the expansions which might come on NX at the same time as other consoles.I'm not so sure that they'd actually develop the late port themselves. But who knows.
I love this thing and there are at least 4 buttons 2 shoulder and 2 back or behind the device.

The HDMI cable in the first picture looks positioned as if it's just been disconnected from an HDMI out on the device. If it has that, and no buttons, then I'm guessing this (if real) is the handheld, rather than the home console pad.
Yeah...
That Wii U, which is discontinuing this year, was a real winner.
