Until its only launchable from the IW menu O_O.
The IW version of the game only includes 10 maps from the base game. I could see a standalone version retailing for 29.99, but containing all the base maps from the original game

This is exactly how I see it as well and it's unfortunate.
It should be the original MP.
if it is, It will be the first COD game I will buy since MW2.
All they needed to get me back was to release the first one again, go figure.
The difference is staggering.
Even if MWR is held hostage by IW I think I'll still get it. Who knows, maybe I could get some enjoyment out of IW.

That's some genius marketing, for the first 2 months at retail at least, unless they plan on those legacy SKU's being mass produced as much as the standard editions for the rest of the year until Sledgehammer's next is announced. What is the split between digital/physical (consoles) for CoD's again? The usual 80/20 or higher? Would be wise to throw this on PSN/XBL (NN?) after 6 months, or a month after all the legacy units have shipped to retailers (not sold through).

Own(buy) it to get a code. Doesn't say you must own it to play it. I could very well be wrong, but I'm leaning heavely towards that being the case.
