Just finished the single player campaign and side missions and I had a great time. I particularly enjoyed the jackal battles. The action was great and the graphics was fantastic. Even the story wasn't half bad for a loud shooter. Not sure why the reviews were down on this.

But if you're pairing Grip with Stability on the Invective, you're using a Pick 10 point regardless.

You're missing my point, which is that you could spend the Pick-10 point on something that'll complement the Invective, instead of using High Caliber as some sort of mock-Invective, and missing out on more valuable attachments.

Heck, I don't even consider the grip "valuable". It was just a suggestion. You could use a laser sight or quickdraw instead.

]'Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Invective sucks. I'm just saying it's not necessarily worth the 4000+ Salvage unless the person just really wants it.

Considering it frees up a Pick-10 (or Pick-9, considering Ghost) slot for another attachment, I'd say it's absolutely worth the 4000 salvage. Most of the Epics in this game are gimmicky, giving you stuff like a different sight, mediocre dual shotguns, or slug rounds that can't consistently one-shot. But the Invective is one of the few that I'd argue is a straight upgrade. Once you have it, the only reason to go back to the base version is if you have a tendency to shoot the legs (or if you want to go for a De-Atomizer).

I guess people weren't ready for Call of Duty to have a even a little bit of character development and nuance, and were more in the mood for the bombastic silliness of Doom and Titanfall.

I'm not sure where I'm at SP campaign wise in terms of finishing it. I'll spoiler just in case.

I just crash landed on a planet after a huge space battle after taking over the enemy's flagship destroyer and laying waste to their fleet with its super weapon!

But I concur, the campaign so far has been varied and fun. The story is engaging and I'm invested in the characters and story. Spot on play control, fantastic graphics and musical score. Rocking it on my OG PS4.

I finished Titanfall 2's SP campaign(PS4) and it was probably the best single player campaign I've played since Half-Life 2.

That said, this is a VERY GOOD SP campaign(I haven't touched multiplayer and doubt I ever will). I'm not sure where the hate is coming from. It must be hip to crap on Call of Duty because this doesn't deserve all the hate I've seen/read/heard about it.

Agree to disagree then. Spending a ton of often hard earned salvage to get a version of the KBAR with a "free" Hollow Point is not my idea of good value. The Invective isn't good because of some bonus headshot damage, it's good because it's the KBAR. Even the Radiant is a good, significantly cheaper alternative for the bonus payload meter.

Pretty sure I found one of the very best late game zombies weapons. EMC with akimbo, auto sear, hollow point, laser sight (probably not important), and fusion mag (probably not important). Packed, of course, and equipped with the X-Quisite elemental core (this is key to making it godlike). Double tap too, though it's good even without.

Takes some doing to get, obviously, but I was able to decimate huge hordes of zombies with it up to round 38 in a matter of seconds (probably higher, but I died because I was goofing off and my partner was getting frustrated and tired). I was able to kill a brute in just a few shots with it in the same high rounds. What makes it even better is that you don't hardly have to aim, since it has the same smart, auto-aim hipfire that the M1 and DMR-1 get when packed.

I don't know what exactly makes it work so well, but it's easily the best weapon I've ever used in a zombies game. Better than any wonder weapon. It's amazing. Only issue is ammo conservation, since--as a handgun--it doesn't get as much in stock as other weapons, but still plenty if you're careful about spending it.

I'm actually reluctant to share this info, because I figure if it gets widespread, it'll get nerfed like mad. It probably deserves it, but I think I'm gonna go ahead and do the Easter Egg with it first.

So.

I picked this up last week.
Feels like an improvement over the random-shitty-matchmaking BO3 had. You know, the one where you die around corners or somehow die by a fart in the face.

This feels a bit slower, more solid.

But .. how in the hell do you acquire more "scrap"?

This is good info. Cause I suck at Zombies and any help I can get is appreciated. I still haven't been able to find the Pack A Punch machine, lol. Although I haven't played it in weeks since I first started it back in November.

Level up your mission teams or buy the more expensive loot boxes. They have scrap with each one. Mission teams should have scrap every 5 levels.

Pack-a-Punch is pretty easy in Spaceland. You just have to turn on the power in every area besides the underground (so Journey Into Space, Astrocade, Polar Peak, and the Kepler System), and then go through each area's portal. Once you get them all, the center area's portal will take you to the projection room with the Pack-a-Punch machine, similar to Kino Der Toten or Five.

Worth noting that the EMC is a Wonder Wheel-only weapon in Spaceland.

Thanks :) Appreciate it!

Although I'd rather not invest money in those Supply Drops. Thank god you seem to "earn" 'em faster then before.

Ya you just get salvage from leveling up your mission teams and playing normal. No need to buy with real money.

Well not exactly. You get salvage from duplicates from supply drops that you open with keys that you get from playing normally. But you won't get the salvage without the drop opening. Oh and then there's the occasional stuff from daily login bonuses. Usually just 40 or so salvage. Get that 100 times and you've got yourself one Epic.

I hope some new classic weapons like the datamined ACR and Ameli get added to the game along with the Blood Anvil mission team, which will likely bring in new weapon variants as well. Would be perfect right before DLC 1 drops.

How do I get the season pass to work with my other accounts? I'm on ps4 when my brother uses his account on my ps4 he doesn't have access to the season pass

The increased headshot damage means that with a headshot, it's one less shot to kill at all ranges with at least one headshot. Considering its typical recoil patterns, you'll poke the head or neck at least once in most encounters where you aim for the upper chest.

If you prefer to spend your salvage on something else, that's totally cool. The Invective isn't the be-all, end-all of Epic weapons. It's pretty vanilla, but it's also really effective. I'd recommend something that assists in speeding up kill times while still remaining a functional weapon, like the Bomber or Thunder. Or if you're feeling a little adventurous, the Kaiken.

I hope they're acquired like in Advanced Warfare, if the base guns aren't added to everyone's inventories immediately. I was playing AW the other day (to get the Grit), played a few matches, and wound up getting some SDs with uncommon M16 and STG variants in them. That's all I needed to get the base versions of those guns.

You can't, sadly. Same reason you can't share MWR across accounts, from what I can tell.

This works on Xbox one with how their "home console" system works. I'm surprised it is not duplicated in some way with ps4.

Just found out one of my fave modern designers Aaron Beck designed a ton of the stuff in this game. I knew there was a reason I liked the art and designs so much. If his work is familiar, he worked on films like Elysium.

^ This is awesome! It's nice to see someone actually able to post behind the scenes work on a CoD game and not be tied down by an NDA.

Now that you mention it, I never really thought about how to unlock classic weapons patched in later.

Really can't stress how much I love the design of Synaptic's head. It's a remarkably realistic depiction of how a robot's head would actually work: you have one axis of rotation on the neck so it can look around, and another axis that works like a pendulum, allowing the head to look up and down. Together, they emulate the general functions of a human head (though Synaptic sadly can't tilt its viewpoint, which I'm sure keeps it up at night).

I can share mwr with my other accounts

Are you on Xbox, or PS4? Because MWR doesn't comply with guests on my PS4.

I'm on ps4 I have the digital deluxe edition

MWR works for my buddy, but I have never gotten the season pass goodies. I guess we will see once the map pack drops whether that works.

You should tell if it works now I believe if you login in to get your daily reward you should get 2 the extra is for season pass holders. I don't get that on the other account.

Kinda feels like this game is paying for the sins of the last one. Black Ops 3 was dreadful yet somehow got good reviews.

I just finished this now and it did the impossible for a Call of Duty game. It made me care about the characters.

Black Ops 3's praise was for the multiplayer and zombies portions, as well as the general classy presentation (or so it seemed early on). The single player was widely panned.

Anyway, BO3 and IW are only 4 points apart on Metacritic on PS4. Only 3 on Xbox One.

Are you sure? I remember a lot of places marked it mediocore to above average and not the garbage fire it actually is. I'm probably wrong though.

Even with the tough competition this year brought I enjoyed Infinite Warfare a lot. The space combat and mission structure was really good and I liked and was invested in most of the characters. Main criticisms were Kotch being very underwritten and not particularly menacing. The SDF being generic space nazi's and the wall running stuff was absolutely not needed. It added nothing and you can tell it was just there because of Titanfall.

I remember people being half-and-half on it. I thought it was serviceable (if boring) until the stupid mission in that bio-dome thing. That's when I realized it was going to be a tasteless, nihilistic Treyarch Call of Duty, just like WaW and BO1. I appreciated the sillier moments of BO2 that didn't try to go for edginess for the sake of edginess; most of the time the absurdity was practically camp.

Whelp, that marks my first ever completed COD campaign. It was a fun ride to be sure, and pretty much what I expected going in. There were a bunch of niggles along the road, like the whole thing apparently happening in a single day (fucking nobody does that many combat deployments and air combat missions in a single day), the colossal idiocy of having the whole fleet at the parade in the first place and the kind of weird jumping capabilities of the capital ships in the setting in general.

The SDF were kind of hilarious in their extremism. The last time I've seen Martians this crazy was in Zone of the Enders 2, and there the bad guy was just plain insane via the influence of the Magitek metal they use to build the best mechas in the setting.

When you're the last line of defense and a video game protagonist, you definitely do.

There's even an achievement that pokes fun at this fact.

WTF is this?

Doom had the best fps campaign in a decade and a great story as well.

Titanfall had great single player and the best multiplayer of the year.

Call of duty had a single player that people were surprised not to hate and an unplayable 20fps multiplayer mode that is entirely disconnected from player actions or skill, with random drop loot boxes to get overpowered guns.

Cracked open my daily reward, yet another CSD... and it had the Jam camo!

For sniper rifles!

At least I can use it on my darling M1. That gun is savage.

So did they give up on the key glitchers?

On the one hand we may here something about it now the Christmas period is over and the devs are back in the office.

On the other hand the longer nothing is said the more likely it seems nothing will come of it. Also would they really want to be taking action and taking the chance of stirring up negativity in the community (rightly or wrongly) just before map pack 1 is released?

It's unacceptable. I'm pretty sure higher tickrate games were being released and played 20 years ago.

Oh he corrects himself. It's hard to take it seriously when you confuse tickrate and FPS. Also there's one thing to criticise and your critique isn't wrong, IW does need a higher tick rate, but if you seemingly don't like IW and like the other games more... Why are you posting in here? Just to bait people?

Anyway, can we agree that Ghost is fucking worthless? Seriously, the more and more I use it- it just seems pointless. I've seen enough players know exactly where you're no matter what even if you have Ghost. I'm thinking of taking it off and just waiting for Dead Silence again.

Also so are we getting the ACR or not? Still have my classic token sitting in wait.

Do you have a suppressor on your gun as well? Otherwise ya, the maps aren't really that big it's not like there are too many places to hide. I have been pre-aiming around corners a lot more lately and it seems to help me even if I don't know if someone is there or not.

I have a classic token saved up as well but I'm more wondering when are they going to turn on the damn leaderboards? WTH is taking so long to have stats?

Having reached level 48, this is now oficially the Call of Duty I've played the most.

Really odd, I don't quite know why I liked it, but somehow it clicked despite the microtransactions nonsense and it obviously being widely panned as a multiplayer game. Maybe it has something to do eith how it allows for a SMG furiosity and constant movement that I haven't felt possible since Titanfall 1 and did not find a match in Titanfall 2.

Playing with SMGs is simply fun in this game, but beyond that the weapon variety is quite nice, too. The only weapon type I'm hopeless with are snipers.

In an online game the tickrate is the frame rate.

When the game renders those other 40 frames in a second and then they have no impact whatsoever on the actions happening in a multiplayer match, that is a game running at 20fps.

By contrast many racing games for example calculate physics at a much higher frame rate than the game engine can draw frames to enhance control and responsiveness.

Call of duty is the opposite of that. Battlefield figured this out and increased their tickrates in 2014. Most online shooters have. But they are cheap and lazy at Activision and prefer an unresponsive game that rewards bad players with random kills.
