The comments are embarrassing. I mean, not surprised that they are, but still, people are actually saying he's backstabbing Pewdiepie?
These people ideologies are full of hate, so their not reactions are not surprising. Still, he had a fairly reasonable take on the situation.

I've had close friends get sucked into the alt right through the whole "SJW " thing and I feel like I can't get through to them because they only focus on examples of when people take outrage too far

Shouldn't they just get over it and move on? Otherwise don't they just empower the SJWs?

New video from Felix. Honestly, I agree with him. The media is just too sad

I agree.

While I do think he messed up, I also think he misjudged the worlds ability to understand scandinavian humor. I mean, that shit is dark and bleak and would never survive a minute in the public eye. Why he ever thought this was a good idea to post on the internet is beyond me.

Edit: Holy shit at that ending

Nothing to do with dark humour, it was just a bad joke. If it was good then this wouldn't have happened.

As someone who lives in Scandinavia, how is this solely Scandinavian humour? Seems like pretty standard dark humour to me.

I think you sorta answered your own question. I've been of the same impression for quite some time, until my american girlfriend's family started pointing out how depraved our humor was. This is a little anecdotal, I agree, but this is the general consensus I've heard from people outside of scandinavia.

Ok, in the first thirty seconds he fails to realize that authors don't write story titles; the editor wrote it and changed it, not her.

He's railing against "the media" and he doesn't understand shit about it. And he's using a photoshopped image of JK Rowling in Nazi garb for... what purpose?

Also, you can't pull the "keep calling me an anti-semite, it's hilarious" troll look when your eyes are filled with rage as you say it.

... Did Vox seriously post an article comparing the glasses he's wearing to Nazi fashion?

That's honestly embarrassing.

The whole thing i find amusing about this is policing of humor/speech is very authoritarian in nature and i find it funny to see so many so called liberals running around calling people nazi's and fascists while trying to restrict their right to free speech. Which is the very foundation of most authoritarian regimes like the Nazi's and even modern day Russia. I guess it comes down to a lack of knowledge about why free speech, even that which we find offensive, is so necessary to maintain freedom to explain the logical fallacy which is occurring with these people.

Who is trying to restrict anyone's right to free speech?

Whoa. Maybe he doesn't know them?

Good video otherwise.

Hard not to know what Sargon is about after you've just listened to one video of his because all he ever talks about is his beliefs. Dude is even supported by the English Defence League, a group of fascists. He's even proud of it.

Thanks for trying to restrict Disney's right to not hire an idiot, and the public's right to not support a shitty artist.

You fascist.

Maybe, but don't you think it depends more on the the type of humour you grew up surrounded with, within your friends, family, movies/comedians you watched etc?
I don't believe the area of world world dictates your taste in humour, especially now in the internet age.

I really hope you are joking here. This is in some serious Poe's law territory.

Otherwise I'm suspecting you really don't know the nature of fascism.

I liked the new vid. And the whole thing about Ben Fritz is fucking embarrassing.

Why is he promoting Sargon of Akkad and Kraut and Tea? He even has links to their channels in the description.

Yeah, I wonder if he knows the vile shit these guys spread. Looked at Sargon and that guy is undeniably a white supremist (sharing 1488 crap). Don't know about the other that much, but assume he is similar scum. Unfortunately, trash like Keemstar (ironically the guy the bad joke that started this was supposed to trash) get much more attention as well.

While PDP's usual content does not lead me to believe that he has bad intentions, I do hope him promoting these trash channels stops.

That said, from the point of view of many/most yt'ers, it makes sense that they stick up for each other against articles like these.

No one is trying to limit free speech. Just trying to hold people accountable for the dumb shit that comes out of their mouths.

Can you explain to me how the policing of humor doesn't restrict free speech? If you can't understand how that restricts free speech then you need to go read on the subject. But i wasn't just referring to this situation but also saying that in general liberals seem to be going very authoritarian in their views when it comes to the policing of speech that they don't like. The UC Berkley protests are another example and i could name more but i really didn't come here for an argument especially one on a subject as straight forward as this.

No one is trying to limit free speech. Just trying to hold people accountable for the dumb shit that comes out of their mouths.
I agree with this sentiment, especially when you're talking about people making hate speech. But the policing of humor is a slippery slope, especially in this case in which it was pretty obvious, to most people who aren't reactionaries, that pewdiepie is not antisemitic because he made some pretty average jokes. That's when it starts to seem like a certain political segment is trying to actively police and limit what people can talk about by punishing people they deem offenders, this is actually a common tactic for authoritarian regimes (like what trumps doing with the media, which scares me). But you can see this in many other areas too, like i mentioned about UC Berkley and with literally tons of other situation which are becoming more frequent lately.

I feel the need to say I'm not defending any of these people, i actually cant stand pewdiepie and from what i see of Milo i despise him.

I don't think you got the point.

PewDiePie is gaining viewers and subscribers. His YouTube commenters(which are actually acting like the opposite of the usual crappy YouTube commenters) are taking his side on this issue. And no, they are not all millions of alt-right. People want WSJ to go and are caring even less about certain media outlets. This has backfired for so hard for so many people and it is interesting to see from an outside perspective.
