I'm noticing some weird "off" shots in this episode, mainly when the screen is zoomed away from the Major's face.

She had a real "anime" style teeth grit when being chocked, for example.

If you don't mind, what would you say are at least 5 highly requested Toonami shows that aren't continuations of shows you've already aired?

Mob Psycho 100, Tokyo Ghoul and season two of One Punch are the three most requested shows at present. After those two it's just a whole bunch of different suggestions without a clear majority!

Well of what Seda has posted, I guess it makes sense for Tokyo Ghoul to premiere on the late slot...just not replacing One Piece.

Gundam Unicorn is getting moved?? I don't think that's a good sign.

I really need to stop reading this thread. Reading everyone trash Unicorn is an exercise in masochism.

I can understand not liking it jist fine, but the exaggerated level you guys go too is pretty extreme. You act like it's the worst fucking show ever made when it's not. I'll admit the tv series edits are pretty bad, but the content in of itself is pretty gm fucking great.

I agree that the tv recuts make it a lot worse, but I really dislike Unicorn's rather pretentious interpretation of UC politics and philosophy, which already wasn't super well-written to begin with. The way the dialogue is written is just so naff. The mecha fights are pretty good.

though I will say that part of it is how the group watch setting amplifies the flaws, sort of like a reverse Jojo

I'm just trashing Shippuden's filler mostly.

Don't have much to say on Unicorn other than it having consistently fluid animation, which is nice (although it being an OVA could be the reason)

I know that the ratings don't matter. I'm just psyched for possibly more HxH viewership - just as it was in the beginning (above 1 mil, but at least a bit closer to that would be nice)

I just check out.

True story I took the time to snort a solution of cayenne pepper and water in order to clear my sinuses.... because I thought that was a better use of my time than watching Unicorn.

Ugh NCAA Tournament completely screwed up my schedule. Only realized 20 minutes ago that yesterday was Saturday and Toonami was on. Will at least be able to catch the west coast airing of One Piece.

I mean, I feel like I should mention two friends of mine, both who are HUGE Gundam fans and neither read this thread, both think Unicorn is bad (and they were referring the OVA)

Everyone has opinions of courselves, but to imply that the impressions of this thread are some outlier in a field of praise doesn't seem genuine.

The problem with Unicorn is that it's just BORING. There's been technically worse shows on the block like SAO or Akame ga Kill or the Cell Games just draaaggggggiiiiinnnnnngggggg oooooonnnnnnnnnnnn, but those shows still evoked emotion from us. It was easier (& honestly, more fun) to point out the flaws and explain why elements didn't work.

I honestly can't bring myself to comment on anything half the time because there's just nothing that I feel like is worth mentioning. Sure, the presentation itself is nice, but it's all style & no substance, especially when it's dealing with a storyline spanning DECADES of other seasons, meaning I'm jumping into a storyline with so much lore I don't know. It'd be like if you had no idea about Lord of the Rings' lore, but you were going to see the final movie.

I said it earlier when it was airing, but I feel like it's more likely to win most disappointing instead of worst show. & again, it doesn't help this isn't exactly the best type of show to watch with a group when you're swapping glances from the TV to the computer and might possibly miss some details, especially with how late it airs.

There is a moment near the end where the show goes totally bonkers, even by Gundam standards, but I'm not sure how be obvious the stupidity would be unless you were paying attention.

This thread is am outlier and so are your friends though. General consensus of Unicorn was quite positive when it was going. It's probably one of the reasons Gundam wasn't killed off in the West. God knows they were trying. For a while, the only people who disliked Unicorn were those who were viewed as "too edgey"

Just saying, there is a reason they're building a 1:1 statue of the Unicorn Gundam in Japan.
