Reminded me of that podcast after the Brexit vote and Kyle jokingly said it was the first topic and Huber was ready to dive in.

Speaking of, UK elections are the Thursday before E3. If that turns out like shit, hoping E3 is good enough to make me forget for a little bit.

Dammit, Hasney. I had not connected the two dates, yet. Those 7 days will be a rollercoaster :(

On the plus side, it means I won't have to take any time out of campaigning to watch E3 coverage, or miss E3 coverage because of campaigning.

On the downside, literally everything else.

The only thing bumming me out about this is the number of people spoiling themselves on a game's ending without any context to try and defend Damiani. It would help if posters like Luchadork weren't posting untagged spoilers about a game he hasn't played.

It's still not great to have untagged spoilers in here. I have to imagine a lot of people are still planning on playing Nier Automata.
It's literally the last segment of gameplay in the game that's being openly discussed.
<Don't read if you plan on playing Nier

Yup. In fact I'll even repeat myself for anyone that arrived in this page of the thread.

If you plan on playing Nier Automata or Horizon don't read the two pages before this.

So if we're done with all that

The stream schedule this week in interesting.

Jones streaming Zelda should be fun
The double dragon mini group stream on Thursday peaks my interest
Fiasconauts is Friday!
Q&A is Saturday
Huber is streaming some gam I've never even heard of.
Looks like the DQ2 has Ben in a. Under so Xenoblade is Sunday.

And also Blood Pact in half an hour and this time he's playing
Ha, made you look Blood

I'm not being that stupid again!

Q&A is definitely underrated. It's like one big L&R podcast.

I hope people start writing slightly tighter questions though - or at least the Allies start doing what Ben does and just skip to the actual question.

I don't think it's that kinda Nintendo podcast lol.

I wouldn't say that's an inherently bad thing, in fact it's often healthier.

I'm not sure how that is healthier. Having a community that engages with the allies in a respectful and constructive way is far more preferable to the alternatives.

Huber sure loves his horror =) I'm sometimes wondering if I'm missing out on great games because I don't enjoy horror myself. Or is it just the frights that make these games click for people. Resident Evil 4 was the last horror game I played if I recall correctly.

Edit: Actually not true, I played RE 5 or 6 a bit as co-op and similarly tested one of the Dead Space games, if that has a co-op? But only maybe like 2 hours combined. I would think co-op kinda lessens the horror effect though, which is fine by me.

Gaming lull??? Dude gaming is anti-lull right now :p

Haha, I meant moving forward. We're past the large onslaught that was Q1. And stuff is still coming out sure, but not a plethora of super long games.

Speaking purely review wise of course. I'm still working my way through a lot of the Q1 games and I suspect many allies are as well.

NO.

NO REVIEWS? DAILY FRAME TRAP WHEN?

My productivity would plummet if there was any more FT :p

Yeah this Q1 is going to take me all year to catch up on. Zelda is probably not going to happen til Christmas break.

I still think spoiler mode can be something a little more critical, less surface level. It skipped entire story chunks.

"But those parts weren't interesting so they didn't talk about it" but that's the point, why are those parts uninteresting, why did the characters suck. How might that be improved.

Not asking for a long form review like matthewmatosis, but something in the middle. Again, they missed huge plot points and said incorrect information... Please don't do that.

New Fiasconauts already? Time flew by.

Yea it's looking like things are a bit righty in the question front.

I still need to edit mine in. I have the Q just need to find a way to phrase it correctly. Aaand I'm on that Q&A cutoff threshold so we will see

Did you catch Hubers Saturday stream when he spoiled the game? It was hiliarious people then people said he wasn't supposed to say yet. Huber then went "don't tell Blood!" While blood was in chat talking to others. Hehe

Because engaging this closely affects them, whether positively or negatively. It's often recommended for content creators to somewhat distance themselves from the comments. And humans aren't machines, even the most logical and respectful response could affect someone negatively.

Q&A is great, they pick the craziest questions.

I like how Jones is just fiddling away at his lego while talking sense, haha.

Guess it's also important to point out that Kyle didn't really care much to play Persona5 to begin, took Huber some convincing to get him to do it, and we all know how Kyle gets when you make him do something he doesn't want to.

I think that hearing Kyle and Ben talk about 2B being too cool, too, may help some people understand Kyle's point of view a bit better. Basically, it would be alright for the P5 protagonist to act cool, if the people around him didn't also think that he is really cool.

I grabbed P5 and started it due to hype, but I'm not a fan of turn based RPGs or anything

Played the first few hours but haven't gone back yet and probably won't. It's very stylish and I dig the vibes but I can't say I'd rather play it over Yakuza 0 or any other games in my backlog/upcoming

Will prrrrrrobably trade for Prey next week. A game I'm not totally sold on but is the only Bioshock fix I'll get for the forseeable future. Plus like I really need a shorter single player experience this year, please god

Yup, total Ben face for me during that bit lol. It's all fine in the end. He still gave it a fair shake!

I totally forgot Prey was a thing, tbh. And coming out next week? Geez lol.

Game screams "7" but everything I've seen is hitting the right notes for me. Dumb shadow monsters aren't nearly as interesting as splicers or something, but I'm tickled by the idea that they can turn into random stationary objects to surprise you. As long as I can hit things with a wrench I'm sold

Where's the hype Allies, something wrong with western games? =) Honestly, I'm not that excited myself either. If it gets great reviews, I'll take another look. Not really into FPS:s anymore, haven't been for a long time. Even New Order was bit of a slog to get through, even though I recognize that it's a great game. Loved the story and the characters. Just tired of point and shoot. Would love to try Titanfall 2 though, if only it was on Steam. Funnily, it has Final Hours doc by Keighley in there. And people bought it thinking it's the game and are downvoting it. Oh humanity.

A part of me keeps thinking it'll pull a Doom & surprise everyone review wise, but I doubt lightning strikes twice.

Upon further research, I see that Chris Avellone is involved so that's certainly caught my interest (I love Fallout: New Vegas).

I'm expecting a lot of "Prey draws heavily from the System Shock and Bioshock games, but doesn't quite reach the heights of its predecessors" lol

It's a game I almost want to wait for reviews for but I think I've seen enough to know I'll like it. As I said the appeal of something not being a massive open world undertaking is pretty high right now.

Well thrice. Wolfenstein was another may Bethesda game I had no real hype for that turned into my shooter of the year.

Prey is like Dishonored 2. It might be great but I can't get hyped for it beforehand. And I also can't explain really why. It all just looks...ok

Because despite it looking good they haven't shown anything new

The newest thing is the "you can turn into a cup" thing. Which I think they thought was a bigger deal than it actually is

I'm sure there's neat stuff you can do with it but it's just a dumb thing. The shadow monsters are, again, kinda dumb

Otherwise it's an open, fully explorable space station like System Shock and the gameplay and art direction is closer to Bioshock

Prey had a fuckin great reveal trailer at E3, but I can't say that gameplay has captured that eerie psychological horror yet. Seems like those moments will be more story-based. Though I imagine shadow monsters hiding as cups and shit will make me ultra paranoid

Even Wolfenstein had those crazy awesome trailers in its marketing campaign. They hooked me with the DOOM beta ("lol see you in two years") but those trailers were on point. Love that game, more than DOOM even

Sheesh, I forgot about Wolfenstein too.

Not familiar enough with Dishonored to relate, but Brian_FETO hit the nail by calling it a "7" so far.
