That bib babyguy from Tokyo Ghoul actually reminded me of either of these guys from Dragon Quest:
And y'know, I actually don't mind the chilled out Videl in Super, in as far as she compliments Gohan well. They're both characters that grew beyond the more obvious, expected ends their parents, friends, and family presented.
Watching female characters take on family responsibilities and act as angry, money-focused moms doesn't really bother me nearly as much as, say, the way Sakura or Hinata or TenTen turn out in Naruto, actually. Maybe it's because the expectations are different?
In DB/Z/S, the characters have enough fight to be appealing to the men they woo, but it's not like they set out to be warriors. They're just tough, and play up the angle that even a strong fighter fears his fearsome wife.
In Naruto, every female Ninja has the chance to be just as awesome as their male counterparts. They want to be as out on the field as anyone else, and they want to become stronger in order to protect those they love, get them to return to the village, etc. Yet they never even seem to be considered to play truly important roles in these struggles.
Due to this, I feel like I could still have hope that, say, Videl and Gohan could fight side by side against a new threat. Especially since Super seems to present a wider range of threats to the world than "So powerful only Goku stands a chance!".
Compare that to a Naruto, where even the old masters seem to get cast to the side, to show us how awesome Sasuke and Naruto are for the 4,000,000th time.

While I'm thinking about it, I also have to say I'm enjoying Stephanie Sheh's performance as Mineva on Gundam. She does a nice job at staying between youthful and mildly approachable, and then switching to strong and fairly confident in her bloodline and heritage. Watching her try and figure out exact how much Char really exist within Full Frontal was nicely played.
I think she helps balance preachy Banagher well, overall. He just blurts out his thoughts, screaming and whining, while she's pretty reserved, and obviously puts thought before her actions.
Plus I thought it nice to see her walk out like a true Zabi family member:

Thinking about Mineva the reason I like her is that unlike most people in the Gundam universe she thinks through what the hell she is going to do. This is incredibly rare in any person in any leadership capacity in this god forsaken place.
One example is her meeting at the beginning of this whole thing with Banger's dad. She doesn't want him to hand the box over to Neo Zeon for the obvious reason that it'll start a third war and millions will die. After seeing what the Federation's response to this situation (kill everyone related and take the box by any means necessary) she modulates her position a bit after being freed. But even though she's technically in charge of Neo Zeon/The Sleeves she realizes that Full Frontal is pretty much going to do whatever he wants and she tries to keep Banger out of it by making the decision to go after the box herself, like a true leader.
She's a young kid who has seen too much shit and has the weight of her families crimes on her head, but she's not unrealistic nor too fatalistic. She commands respect but realizes that it's only going to get you so far in a group like the Sleeves with a charismatic fat face like Full Frontal. Plus she recognized that Riddhe was a creeper way before he actually started acting like one.

I would take bleach if we skipped the bount arc and only played till the beginning of the arrancar arc

Take Akame Ga Kill's cast, subtract almost every male role, and double the female parts. This is a bad, bad dub. There's maybe two people really nailing it, fortunately one of them is the main character Ange.
The show's subject matter is pure violence against the senses. This show exudes no fun at any point. They even try with the next episode previews for awhile. The plot hasn't really started yet, just the misery.

The show does eventually have a little bit of fun it's just a bad god damn show though. I don't think you've met female punished snake yet though, I actually like her and maybe one other character.

I have only seen half of it and blocked out a lot of it. Maybe since I'm hardened by surviving School Days I should take another crack at it.
It's at least better than Freezing since Cross Ange has something resembling a plot and narrative. Freezing is just shit.
