For those that played the Wii U version how does this look and feel?

Does it control better or worse? Do you think the graphics look any better beyond 1080p docked?

Ugh really my Best Buy order is delayed til Monday? The fuck was the point of them having it sit in the warehouse for 2 days before sending it out today. Of course it won't arrive til Monday if you ship it from 3 states away the day it's supposed to arrive.

I hope so too.

I emailed them to ask for a tracking number and the response I got completely contradicted the first one. Now, they're saying that it's not shipped but it will ship soon and that I'll still receive it today. How are they going to pull that off? Fuck if I know.

I responded again, pushing them further. Still waiting on a response.

Accelerate is A or Y. Y is much more comfortable in my opinion.

I'm really bummed about the lack of elimination battle mode.

2 people left, both down to the final balloon, hunting each other down? It's great.

Anyone else getting a weird soundmix docked? It's like it's trying to output surround and the sound gets muddled as a result. With some sounds very low, almost missing.

Mine's set to Stereo in the Switch Settings. And I've not noticed this in any other game.

Edit: yeah, it sounds exactly like there's missing channels. Very different from the glorious handheld stereo mix.

To me it looks noticeable better just with full rgb and 1080p.

Much less edge shimmering all around. I am very happy with this. First time playing on portable blew my mind.

Just had a chance to finally play.

Firstly, I went docked to see how it looks on TV and man that 1080p/60fps is fucking crispy as hell. In addition, the game feels SO smooth in motion.

I then went handheld and my mind blew. How on EARTH did we get this far?! It looks beautiful!

I had a couple online matches - all 12 players with zero lag. I won the first and bombed hard after that, lol.

My first time playing a new MK game since 7 and man is it incredible. It's beautiful, smooth and a joy to play. I'm sinking in 100's of hours without a doubt. Amazing title:D

So my amazon order still says arriving today but no shipping update. Still says "shipping now" and no tracking number available. Such bullshit. Amazon used to be great at release day deliveries but I've had issues with them the last 6 months now.

I just tried a round avoiding the law, and yeah ha it's remarkably fun, and at least from first impression easier than being the cops. I love how you can beep the horn to have a "Help!" speech bubble pop up on the map when imprisoned.

Did you order yours to be shipped to home, or pickup at store? I did pickup at store and am still in "Preparing" status.

I really don't think it was a good idea to have smart steering enabled by default and then have the option to turn it off buried in the kart menu, which most people aren't aware even exists!

Ah shit!!

I just started downloading Mario Kart 8 DX and I forgot to take my Micro SD out so that it can install on the internal memory (slightly faster loading times).

Can I move the game over to internal memory after the download or should I just cancel the download and start again??

Daaaaamn that last race was intense. It was a real back and fourth between me and this one other guy for the lead. At the end I overtook him and headed fo3 the finish line. BLUE SHELL TIME FUUUUUCCCKKK. Can I make it? Yes, barely. I literally was on the finish line when the blue shell hit me. A millisecond earlier and I would have lost. I love this game.

They seem to almost exclusively ship via USPS or SmartPost via USPS. I hardly see anything go directly UPS or FedEx where I live and it's a pain in the ass. All of my shipping problems started when they switched over.

Well what the shit? I've used BB (and GCU) for over 3 years now, lots of pre-orders and never had a problem. I know they usually give me a "ready for pickup" notification on the night prior to release day. Might just have to pick one up off the shelf and cancel my internet order.

Just bought it for 49€ (that was a nice surprise), that game card is so cute. Can't wait to get home to join the madness.

As someone who played a lot of Double Dash, MK DS and Wii but never owned a Wii U, this feels really special to get all this new content upfront. I almost wish I had to unlock some of it like the good old days.

How do you do the pink boost or whatever new boost there is? I tried just holding it on a turn but I never seemed to trigger it.

Game looks and plays so nice handheld style.

It's the third stage of a drift. Had to be a pretty wide/long turn in order to activate it.

Yeah its a huge let down. Especially considering the new battle mode was the main draw of this semi port. Couldn't even give us an elimination option. :/

Damn, Mount Wario is such a fantastic level.

Also playing as Wario: Spamming item/honk button in an attempt to speed up item cycle and hearing "fart fart fart". Love it.

Does Full RGB vs Limited really differ that much as long as console and display have the same settings?

I think I'm done using amazon for game releases, my delivery date is now Saturday because it didn't ship until 5am this morning.
