Marvel Digital Graphic Novel Sale at Amazon

Our wallets:

I just got an email from Amazon saying that I'm entitled to a free graphic novel.

Thing is, I'm at the store page about to grab something, but I'm not 100% sure the credit will apply. That damn one-click purchase button has me a little wary.

EDIT: Oh...okay. The credit automatically applies.

Spent a lot so glad it's over. As a very casual comic fan looking forward to checking out a bunch of stuff. Thanks for recommending various titles dudes.

Borrowed my wife's iPad to read some of the stuff I bought earlier. Kind of hooked on reading digitally now. Must resist urge to buy more!

I made the switch last year and I wont be going back to print. I was never a collector to begin with and I started accumulating boxes of comics before taking the digital dive and being much happier. I also love not having ads for single issues.

Biggest plus obviously though is sales like these, I cleaned up last year during a few comiXology and amazon sales and got series for 1/5 of what I'd pay in print. And this sale took that to new heights.

Whew, so happy this is over I had spent 80 bucks and was going back for more. I love digital comics in general and this was just over the top.

The interesting thing is that it taught me to look at the Kindle store over Comixology first, for example the Saga trades are 5 bucks, the Rebirth Deathstroke collection is 9 bucks on kindle but 12 on CMX.

So, I feel like this was definitely some kind of pricing error. All the books are still relatively cheap (about 4-5 bucks a trade). I'm assuming this is the price they were supposed to be this entire time. I only spent about $30.00 total, and mostly regret not picking up the Lemire Old Man Logan run. Was thinking about dipping into Hydra Cap as well, but didnt' pull the trigger.

244 Volumes of comics is my total haul. My wallet weeps.

I bought Jason Aaron's Hulk last night, but my card must have been blocked again because the order didn't go through. If I re-attempt the order, will I be charged full price?

I really wanted to get an '80s/'90s X-Men event, but nothing seemed interesting enough to me. Ideally, I would have loved to get all of the issues of Excalibur.

I would legit pick up so much DC stuff if they are up next. Might have to sell a few things I
don't need anymore.

Let's see, I bought:

Daredevil: Yellow
Excalibur Classic Vol. 3
Excalibur Classic Vol. 4
Excalibur Classic Vol. 5
Excalibur Epic Collection
Excalibur Visionaries Vol. 1
Excalibur Visionaries Vol. 2
Hulk: Gray
Hulk: The End
New Mutants Classic Vol. 2
New Mutants Classic Vol. 3
New Mutants Classic Vol. 4
New Mutants Classic Vol. 5
New Mutants Classic Vol. 6
New Mutants Classic Vol. 7
New Mutants Epic Collection
Spider-Man: Blue
The Unworthy Thor
Wolverine (Claremont miniseries)
Wolverine: Weapon X (the 1980s origin story)
X-Factor Epic Collection
X-Factor Visionaries Vol. 1
X-Factor Visionaries Vol. 2
X-Factor Visionaires Vol. 3
X-Factor Visionaires Vol. 4
X-Force: Assault on Greymalkin
X-Force: Cable and the New Mutants
X-Force: Child's Play
X-Force: Force To Be Reckoned With
X-Force: Phalanx Covenant
X-Force: Toy Soldiers
X-Force: Under the Gun
X-Men: Days of Future Past
X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills
X-Men: X-Tinction Agenda

Now to figure out the reading order of all this stuff I bought...

Anyone have any good resources on where to find reading orders? Possibly in image format, like the one below:

Follow this for the reading order of the Hickman Avengers books. The rest is in order.

I went to bed wondering what else I could get and now it's over. Bummer.

But technically, Kindle's Marvel prices are still about 50% off of ComiXology, so it's not too bad.

Oh god it's finally over. Whelp I was really tempted to get some more stuff, but seeing as I have never had digital comics before I sort of held off a bit as I want to see if I do actually end up going through and reading things. Do you think they will have a sale like this again sometime? They must have sold a metric ton of the stuff compared to their normal prices and I hope that's a sign they may try this again at some point.

There's always a sale going on here: https://www.comixology.com/.

I wouldn't expect a sale like this to happen again for a long time.

I'm unsure what to think. The most likely is that if this were a pricing error it would have been corrected ASAP.

But on the other hand, it feels like the error might have been stacking discounts. It appears everything was 50-60% off and then knocked 50-60% off again. Maybe thanks to Amazon and Comixology discounts not always being synced up - Comixology intended to run their standard ~50% discount but that might have unintentionally stacked with an Amazon discount.

The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. It was likely some kind of error but Amazon saw all the new customers flowing into comixology, which is worth more than Gold to them. People buying Kindles probably didn't hurt either.

I don't think it matters what the actual reasoning was. Just seemed like a killer sale to me.
It lasted a full 3-4 days, which I think is typical of a sale like this.

Damn! I was going to take all my spare change to Coin Star for an Amazon voucher today! I wanted to get a bunch more Masterworks and some other stuff. Almost caved last night. Oh well. I've got a good 30 books to tide me over for awhile.
