DC Extended Universe |OT3| A League of Academy Award Winners

I think with a longer production, we could've gotten that film from Ayer.

SS was not it.

It might have been. The leaked Comic Con footage seems more in the style of other Ayer films than what showed up in theaters. I think whatever he had in his head got torpedoed after the reception to BvS being too dark and moody.

Granted, going from a greenlight to filming in a few weeks certainly didn't help matters.

So, anyone been on the Six Flags Justice League: Battle for Metropolis ride? The Magic Mountain Six Flags just had their opening ceremony for theirs last night. I like that they used the movie and TV themes there...and also the Injustice 2 theme, for some reason. Here's the inside of the Hall of Justice with a bunch of videos and other stuff that plays while you wait to get on the ride. Can't find a video from that specific Six Flags yet, so here's one from another one.

DC we have access to voice actors from a famous cartoon run, a new animated series, a line of DTVs and a video game series.... let's just get all new people for our rides!

I feel like I'm the only one who feels the Nolan movies are not that high of a bar. Begins was the best of the three (honestly, TDK is held up by Ledger and nothing more), TDK had several problems, TDKR was basically slapped together with little thought. It was barely coherent. Reeves could probably top them with minimum effort. Decent story, good cinematography, couple of decent Batman fight sequences and done.

Watching Batman Forever, a lot of things frustrate me about this movie, but things genuinely like as well...

That said I would be lying if said wasn't interested in a modern comic movie trying to ape the film's visual style.

It's Just not a good movie. It has a few good scenes and shots but the rest is bad. Especially when anyone opens their mouth. Horrible use of Tommy Lee Jones.

And then he just went plum fool with Batman and Robin.

I'm also expecting something better. We're already on the right track with Batfleck's look and abilities, and with all the characters being on the table.

But to have the kind of cultural impact TDK did won't be easy. Ledger stole the movie, but that's fine, it's Joker... Could be a very long time before another performance like that happens in a superhero movie. Before we get another opening scene like the one in the TDK, or the interrogation scene, or the couple 'how I got these scars' scenes... I want that level of maturity out of The Batman, but with the anything goes mentality of the DCEU.

Yep! Last year I went to Six Flags: Great America in Illinois and checked out the ride. Honestly, the lead-up was more interesting to me than the ride itself. Mostly because I was just completely geeking out over the the fact that - as those videos show - it was all housed inside a giant replica of the Hall of Justice. So that was pretty cool.

The ride itself was just okay from what I remember. Then again, indoor rides rarely ever do anything for me (with the exception of stuff like the Haunted Mansion).

Oh, cool! I'd die from geeking out being in the Hall of Justice, so I can see why you'd enjoy that more. Haha. Ride looked fun in the videos, though. Hopefully I'll get to see it in person some day. Closest one to me is Six Flags Over Georgia, which is about a 7 hour drive from here in Central Florida, according to Google. Looks like they got the ride about a month and a half ago. Gonna have to go over there someday...

I would like to see a director's cut one day... see if it improves it any since they kept the remnants of some of the dropped subplots

Miller ain't gonna touch DCEU as long as he has Mad Max

Miller did Happy Feet... I think he's going to take how many ever years he can to get a script for Mad Max good and ready before he jumps in... in the mean time give him some work

It seems like after the incredible success of Wonder Woman Warners do intend to 'pivot' Harley Quinn away from being largely known as 'the Joker's girlfriend' into an anti-hero, and major DCU character, in her own right.

Whether this means some major plot point in Suicide Squad 2, a rewrite (or whatever) of Gotham City Sirens or indeed another solo spin-off project to accomplish that I'm not sure. I'm sure we'll have a better idea come when SDCC rolls around.

In saying that, as things currently stand, I fully expect The Batman, Suicide Squad 2 and probably Shazam or Black Adam to be released in 2019.

I'll be honest... but I don't think Harley can carry a movie, and it'll be a giant mistake to do so. She didn't rally display the type of depth you need from a main character. Nor did the Batman TAS version have that either.

What's interesting about Batman Forever (and Batman & Robin and Suicide Squad) is how Batman has a previously established rapport with some the villains. Movie opens and it's not Batman's first tussle with Two-face. It's one of those things that's common in comics but you rarely see in the movies.

It's an opportunity for Reeves' Batman movie to explore.

I know what you're saying, I feel like positioning Harley into some kind of underground kingpin in Gotham or leading a group, such as GCS pairing her with Catwoman, is the way to go on this.

It would be interesting to whether a 'Gotham at war' story which might see Harley and Joker square off against each other would not only warrant a film of it's own but have enough weight to carry a film of it's own.

Harley has had year and years of solo adventures in her books. There's more than enough evidence she can carry a solo movie.

I think a Harley goofball comedy like her current comic series could work, but who knows

New shot of JL... it seems a lot lighter than the trailer

Full disclaimer, I haven't read any of her solo stuff. I'm just going off what we've seen from SS. She was overly vapid in that movie.

Teenage girl who nearly had a heart attack during my Suicide Squad showing when Harley first appeared on screen made me realize she could definitely carry a movie if they keep the budget in check.

I think we've reached the point of diminishing returns when it comes to photos of Bats, Flash, and Wondy standing around looking at things.

The marketing has been garbage, the trailers were mediocre to me. Too dark, too much CGI and unrecognizable sets, like it didn't feel like it was happening on Earth or something. Hopefully it gets better with next week.

Also, use the score of the movie for the next trailer, Jesus.

I don't share your opinion on Nolan's films, but I can see where you're coming from. There's no denying that Nolan did a lot of good with his take on Batman. However, I feel like there's certain things about the character that Nolan kind of refused to embrace so to speak. It worked fine for what Nolan was trying to do but it harmed the films in some ways when it tried to go big on action or fantasy elements.

Reeves has a chance to work with the DCEU canvas instead which is gives him license to go wild. There's a lot of potential for this.

No... please keep doing it. These boring screens aren't an indication of a boring movie and I'm so glad they aren't showing anything else.
