Definitely. If he'd been even a somewhat popular character like Haggar, the reveal would've had a lot more oomph to it.
Probably also has a lot to do with the leaks

Not really. Even though we knew it was Abigail, we knew absolutely nothing about him.
Besides, unlike the Marvel leaks, the S2 one was/is a lot more under the radar.

his moves just seem kinda random, even accounting for the fact that he's a 'brawler.' the front flip thing in particular bugs me
also, yet another big guy who goes red and steaming during V-trigger. fucking come on. I have mixed feelings about his design but this is so damn lazy and uninteresting. I'd like to see some more unique effects or appearance changes with V-triggers in general. not everyone needs something like Necalli's, but there's definitely lots of untapped potential.

I mean we're not getting any old characters anytime soon. This was known for awhile.
Though I do think making Season 2 all new characters was a mistake even if I do dig Ed, Kolin, Abigail so far.

Abigail is weird because he was just an Andore headswap. Damnd would have made more sense, I think.

Sagat is a charge character like the rest of Shadaloo, but when you use v-trigger he reverts back to classic controls

All of the season 3 characters aside from Sagat and Sakura were deconfirmed by the guy who leaked the season 2 roster back in October.

That's a fake leaker who stole his leak from somebody else a month after we all realized it existed.
Maki isn't more popular than him lol, most of the people haven't played FF2 and know her only from CvS2.
If they wanted a new FF character only ED could have been better but we already have a character named like that and the final boss...well he is in a wheelchair lol.
Yes there is always Haggar but since he hasn't been in any SF so far my theory is that they want to keep him out for other games like MVC or want a SF without Zangief in it(even though with the pipe in mvc he played different enough to grant him a spot imho)

My order of priority for FF characters to join SF would be Haggar, Lucia, Edi, Belger,and Damd. I don't know any other guys enough to say.

Poison and Andore (Hugo) were a regular enemies though, so they still have a fairly large pool if they want to add more Final Fight people.
