SFV - Abigail Reveal Trailer

spend $100+ on the base game + Season 1 & 2 pass....

Additional Costumes not included. CPT stage not included.
Yeah, I'm going to wait for a $60-or-less all-inclusive bundle or the rumored Super edition. As a more casual fan who primarily likes playing against CPUs, I'd like a more content-rich offering with as many characters and costumes and stages as possible.

There was a time when the base game+both season characters were going for $40. Either wait for a sale like that or get the rumored SSFV game (which will probably be $60)

Yeah, I think I'll do that. Thanks. For someone like me, I'd probably enjoy it most if I could get it when it has a lot of characters.

The DS4 is a pretty low-quality controller, though. Makes it hard to really learn these kinds of games, yet I'm not hardcore enough (in this genre) to invest in a dedicated arcade stick.

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!
My main problem with the character is more with how much clipping might go on due to the models size vs the various animations that would be used in conjunction with said model.

Considering Capcom seems to have a fetish for making characters like this its no real surprise outside of the abnormally large size. As this is like Sentinel type large.

I am conflicted. Abigail's design is ridiculously stupid... but his fighting style is pretty damn cool.
He stands out, literally and figuratively. That's why I love him. He takes a roster that might look a bit samey in some regards (i.e. several blonde women of similar faces and physiques), and he enriches the roster by adding a metric ton of visual variety.

Sentinel was my favorite character in MvC3 for similar reasons.

The fixed MadCatz pad is great imo - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HT2TSSQ/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Since MadCatz is gone now it's something you might want to pick up sooner rather than later though. (Also, make sure to get the fixed version if you do buy it)

That character select screen lol.

Yeah like, how is Nash gonna do his neck break throw on him? Squeeze his waist?

In TvC every character had a unique normal throw animation when they grabbed a giant character(there were only two giant characters in the game). So I'd imagine Capcom can do something like that again if it's an issue.

The grapplers had unique animations for their command grabs too. IIRC Alex looked like he was facefucking Gold Lightan in the stungun headbutt.

What?

Normal throws flat-out didn't work on giants.

The only move I remember functioning differently against them was Frank's level 3.

Abigail looks pretty good in-game to me. I'll definitely give him a shot because I've always liked the huge characters. Plus if he has the range to be a turtling troll then I'm definitely all in.

Opinions are opinions, but these downvote jerks are making the internet so depressing. Who has this kind of time to crap on people's hard work?

To be fair, trying to sell a character like this as paid DLC is a pretty silly decision in the first place. This reaction shouldn't be unexpected at all.

Same here. He's absolutely ridiculous and that's OK.

I think the only thing that bugs me about his design is that they exaggerated everything about him and then left his head tiny which looks super weird. Aside from that, I think he looks super fun and I can't wait to play him.

What do you mean "character like this?" Just because some people don't like the looks doesn't mean he's not as viable as any other character in the roster. You can also buy him with FM if you wish. As for the "reaction", I'm somewhat glad Capcom isn't pandering to that crowd and are designing characters that are somewhat unique and refreshing.

Abigail looks so much better in the new streams than the reveal trailer. I wonder if they have fine tuned his animations at the last minute?

As a fan of big characters like Hugo, Gief, and Abel this guy's only real issue stems from his head not being correctly sized to his body mass. In his alt costumes with more headdress going on it looks less apparent, but his base costume makes his head look TINY due to his massive shoulders.

He means it's not a waifu or a bro. Apparently some people live in a world where everybody is cute and/or edgy.

I believe the current Capcom cup champion and Evo runner up use a regular DS4. SFV is very pad friendly.

I'm legit blown away by the support Punk has received since EVO. He's insanely talented and his gameplay is super fun to watch but I feel like a crazy person. I watched him over the last year be the most arrogant and insufferable personality in SFV and yet him shedding tears after the top 8 has garnered him so much support. I legitimately don't understand it.

It's respect for the player. I felt the same way as you and thought it was really satisfying to see Tokido humble him

That said, I think a lot of people look at the trash talk/cockiness/disrespect as part of the game and culture. As long as the person isn't actually causing harm or being a real piece of shit. Plus I mean, he's just a kid so there's that

And let's be real dude has dominated this year

You're not wrong, he was by far the best player this year. I'm not trying to take anything away from his skill... I just don't get why people are all supportive of the guy that intentionally dropped combos to teabag, spam selected his character when the opponent went to character select to take a breather, teabagged and taunted people he beat.... and are now acting like he's some defeated hero that has earned sympathy.

All of his trash talk was in game, and, as far as I know, when he loses, he gives respect and doesn't blame the loss on anybody but himself. You're taking it way more personal than any of the players he knows are. From what I've heard he's a friendly, generous person who talks trash in game and then chill and talk about it over dinner after.

Punk played up the heel factor for entertainment, but I never got the impression that he was actually an asshole. It all seemed like good fun.

He's a little shit but he's not an asshole.

A big thing is that he's only 18 years old. It seems many don't realize that. Another factor is that I at least always felt that he was more joking around when he was being arrogant rather than being serious about it. Basically just going along with being a character. And this is what I think of when I think of him

How can you hate him? Dude has so much personality.
