Aside from Sonic Mania, which I have the LE pre-ordered for almost a year now, this month is basically the start of the busy game season, but also full of "eeeh, I might just wait for a sale" with stuff like Mario + Rabbids, Yakuza Kiwami (& that's because I still need to play 0), Warriors All-Stars, & Senran Kagura PBS (which I'm debating because the LE is the only way to get a physical copy, but I feel like waiting until I can get it for $50 or less, but BB or Amazon Prime would knock it to $56....).

Though it's mainly because I've got so much next month that I'm getting:

Sept. 15th: Metroid: Samus Returns's LE
Sept. 19th: MvC Infinite's Deluxe Edition & Raiden V's PS4 version w/ the OST
Sept. 26th: Danganronpa V3's LE on NISA's site
Sept. 29th: SNES Mini

Thank goodness my b-day is that month so I can hopefully get some money that can pay a game or two off....but then again, Sept. is also my best friend's birthday (gonna get him FLCL on BD), my dad's birthday, & my b-day falls on the same week as my dad's wife.

& gotta agree the main reason I've been sticking with Toonami is that it's just great fun group watching & discovering shows I probably wouldn't have previously. Plus I get to witness dubs for shows I've already seen.

Yeah, the rest of the year for me is Metroid, MvC:I, Mario, Mordor, Danganronpa, and probably WWE and NBA on Switch

I'm sorry, someone posted on twitter "Dream Daddy, but with the worst anime dads"

Gendo Ikari vs Ging Freccs lets go

That's a hard one, one doesn't want to be in his son's life, and one just wants his son to get in the damn robot no matter how bad it screws him up

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: anime fans are entitled as fuck. Seriously, there is no easier foreign TV shows and movies to get than anime, by a wide margin. There are so many ways to legally watch shows that it's absolutely insane. Just compare the difficultly of getting anime to pretty much any other TV show (especially animation) from most other countries. Getting these shows legally in any sort of timely manner at all (if you can ever get them legally), is pretty much impossible. It's why I cry no tears for anime fans when they complain about Netflix not simulcasting anime. Like, have some damn patience.

I was kinda surprised when CN showed Teen Titans 2k3 this morning.

They're doing it all week. Probably testing out the success of action shows. I have to get up at 4, though : /
I'll probably just rewatch it when it's added to Sling.

We've been spoiled by Crunchyroll & Funimation, especially with simuldubs (though those are obviously not a priority for a service that doesn't focus on anime) becoming more of a thing lately. But that's because that's their way of getting you to subscribe to their service.

Edit: Yo, how did I miss the fact that Mob Psycho 100 is getting a 2nd season? Hell yes, that should help push the demand for the 1st season again.

We shuffled some stuff around our list and added in the new shows for our ranking update.

The old one is here: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CuN_M6tXEAANIAl.jpg

The new one is this:

If they were smart they wouldn't have rotated the plot around so much.
Is that so? I'm not surprised since they're basically trying to cram 1/3 of DIU into a movie.
Some plot elements were bound to be rearranged.

Let me guess, he complains about Netflix not simulcasting ignoring the fact that they have to sub it in like a dozen languages and prefer to get as many dub tracks as they can, which takes time.

He actually makes a few good points. Netflix is a multi billion dollar company that has more global reach than CR and Funi. It shouldn't be a hassle for them to simulcast their licensed anime like they do with some other tv shows.

Bring Prince of Tennis, Haikuu, Eyeshield 21, Kuroko's Basket, Keijo, & Hajime no Ippo to ESPN.

.........it'll still somehow make less people angry compared to showing a fighting game on ESPN2.

So sometimes I like to keep ESPN on my little 19 inch TV for white noise.

They have drone racing (like, people remote control racing them) fairly regularly during the summer.

The salt continues to be amusing.
What kills me is the fact they've shown Poker, which I would argue is not really a sport when luck plays a major role aside from "don't show your emotions", & hot dog eating competitions, which is clearly not a sport.

I remember sometimes I'd use ESPN as background noise to help me fall asleep when I'd be at my grandma's.

Also I'd love to see if people complain about drones not belonging on the channel....despite that ESPN2 is meant for less-popular sports & trying new things to air compared to regular ESPN.

....also that whole E in ESPN stands for ENTERTAINMENT.

guess you gotta go back & re-record the whole thing.

.....but seriously, considering how it was barely 5 minutes & only lasted...what, 4 or 5 weeks, it's easily the most inconsequential, forgettable things I've seen, let alone seen on Toonami. I still wonder how much "better" it would've been if it was one single episode cutting out all the repeated footage. You'd probably just get a 15ish minute short experimental film.

At some point you guys are going to have to bump HxH higher up on your list.

We acknowledge that we were only considering up through Yorknew City arc.

Speaking seriously though, even though I wasn't that big on early HxH, it's a solid long term show to have occupying a slot on Toonami.

tbh 80% of the reason we put Sandwhale and Me on there was to shit on Dimension W and Tenchi GXP and all that by saying this little 5 minute live action dumb TV show is better

I totally agree. I was pretty down on the show before starting it because, well, everyone was over-hyping it as some sort of masterpiece. Now, I wouldn't exactly say that of it, but it's definitely a show I look forward to watching each week.

The arc after Greed Island is a masterpiece though.

They end the movie on Keicho, but they replace RHCP with SHA.
(out of context part 4 spoilers)

it was pretty bad
Wait, WHAT? We might need to continue this in the Jojo OT because I haven't heard the complete context for the ending aside from "wtf, why'd they change it to be worse" but damn. I guess I kind of see the logic from a "we want to get people to see the sequel" perspective, but it brings along quite a few changes that could end up for the worse.

Meanwhile, I feel strangely bored now that I platinum'd Dragon Quest Builders despite the fact I still have Hey Pikmin & Splatoon 2 to play (& Yooka Laylee, but I'm waiting for the patch to hit consoles). Maybe I just want next week to happen so I can play Sonic Mania, then Sept. so I can start the surge of more games. I'd watch my Jojo BD but I feel like if I start, my friend will finally be able to come over & I want to watch it with him.

I find it amusing Crunchyroll has no problem lampooning tropes they officially support.

I've always watched toonami, it's kind of like a tradition to me at this point
Adult Swim Saturdays have been the one constant in my life since 2001. No joke.

To be honest, I'm not sure why I watch Toonami. I don't ever really watch TV or movies otherwise (seda_in_box.gif). Barring rare exceptions, I cannot force myself to marathon most stuff, not just anime. I feel like it's a waste of time.

I think the best way to describe it is a passive slow way to familiarize myself with the popular (more casual) anime/manga stuff that is someone prevalent in the general gaming culture sphere of discussion., and I can watch while doing something else, do it doesn't feel like a 'waste of time'.
(For those who don't know) I would still be watching nuToonami right now but it would be a whole lot more lonelier. That's how I felt after it came back so I searched "toonami" on google and a site called NeoGAF popped up and had this community on the first page so...yeah.

I still have no idea how I discovered this group. I just remember it was right around the end of Eureka 7. All I can think of was one day, I decided to check the Community side for the hell of it & saw there was a thread for Toonami.

I always watched Adult Swim Action, but I didn't think that Toonami would come back. The lineups were OK, and I missed out on the SAO stuff.

I found this place when AoT premiered and saw that there were different community threads that I was interested in too, so I signed up.

Speaking of One Piece, Weekly Jump in Japan held their character popularity poll recently and while Luffy, Zoro and Sanji came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, which is expected, I was surprised and disappointed to see that Usopp came in at 15th. Shit taste confirmed.

At least Jimbei moved all the way up to 6.

That Usopp ranking is even worse when you have people like Boa ahead of him. Sad!

Samurai Jack S5 is what got me to watch Toonami. Before that, I can't really say I was overly interested. Shows the power that bringing on highly anticipated original stuff has, I guess.

He hasn't even been in the manga for like a year, so it makes sense. When he does cool shit he's pretty high up.
I think it will be tough for him to crack the top 10 again now that
Sabo
and Law seem to be mainstays there.

I'm going to say that Usopp is everyone's second favorite character and he'd do better in a different format of vote. /s
