Vehicle plows into counter protesters in Charlottesville

Question. And I'm genuinely curious.
How would people feel if someone who was licensed to carry started to open fire on the car and killed the driver? What if they weren't licenced to carry? How do you think people would react to that scenario?
It would have happened before anyone had a chance to open fire.

That's one of the chief reasons license to carry is a thing, defending yourself and others from criminals, so it shouldn't be an issue at all.

This is what those Nazi fucks want. Never forget that.

And watch him get off scot free on a "Panic due to hippies!" defence.

MSNBC has Charlottesville police making a few statements.

Criminal homicide investigation, already have the guy in custody. Think two confirmed deaths.

Edit: Three deaths actually. Mayor told white supremacists to go home that they are not welcome in the state and basically called them fake patriots.

I'm glad that he got captured alive so the both sides narrative has no ground to stand on.

Well I meant in the sense that someone saw the car hitting people then backing up to make a getaway, and they decided not to let it get away and shoot him.
Hmm I thought you meant like he gets shot while driving over the people. Shooting to make sure he doesn't escape is trickier. Getting him alive leaves no ambiguity to whether it was intentional or not, so that narrative can be squashed.

Is a handgun going to bring a 2000+ lb vehicle traveling at several dozen mph to a halt? Even if you kill him with one perfectly-placed round, you're left with a vehicle that's still as dangerous.

I can't believe the presidents response to this is both sides are bad and need to come together because 'Merica.

I mean I can believe it but fuck.

I actually can't. This has to be the worst thing that Trump has ever said as president. I'm at loss for words. On the verge of tears over all this.

My heart and soul go out to the victims. Fucking nazi scum

Not trying to derail anything here, but you know that isn't what happened, right? They did not stop at Burger King on the way to the station. As they were waiting to transfer custody for about 6 hours, he said he was hungry and they sent an officer to get him something to eat. Which, by the way, is a requirement when you have someone in custody for an extended period of time. They still get basic human rights of bathroom breaks, food and water.

I'm not saying that black people always get the same treatment because they obviously don't, but the narrative that the police stopped and drove Dylan through the Burger King drive thru is false, which could be verified by a 5 second Google search.
All I'm saying is that it's real funny how white killers and terrorists are always taken alive without injury and given proper protection and tender care every step of the way by police while innocent unarmed black people are shot almost everyday without hesitation. Dylan Roof. This guy. The guy who shot up planned parenthood. Every. Single. Time.

You're forgetting the part where he also congratulated himself on record low unemployment and that the governor was very grateful to him for making America great again.

That could just make it worse, he probably drives automatic, if in spasm he'll push the pedal to the medal he could just keep plowing somehow. Besides, you'd be shooting in a mass of humans! All fleeing in panic, and they are everywhere. So not only would you have to make the decision to shoot in under a few seconds, you'd:
1. Have to get your gun from it's holster.
2. Mind your breathing, firing a firearm takes time and breathing, especially a pistol.
3. 2 is important as there are a lot of innocents around, and you will hit them if you don't mind 2.
4. Once you got a clear shot, squeeze the trigger and hope your first shot lands.

All of this has to happen in under 2 seconds as the car passes you, reminder: Humans take a second or two in an emergency to react. Our reaction is not instant, outside of a few instinctive ones. Our brain cheats a lot in reaction time.

And that is all not taking into account that you'd be shooting into a mass of humans! That is a very bad idea, and no self respecting cop (I don't know about USA cops) would do that. You'd run a huge risk of hitting others than the driver, and probably will in the confusion. Those that just spray bullets, are idiots, that never did a marksmanship training in their life.

We all know these white evangelical nationalists and white supremacists are basically the American christian equivalent of radical Islamic terrorists.

Anyone with eyes and a functioning brain knew that a long time ago.
The reason they hate Isis and similar groups isn't from a moral perspective. It's because they're jealous.

Glad they caught the murdering fuck.

Good on the Mayor.

Depends. If he already has his foot on the gas, shooting him could just mean more people injured/killed.

One of these guys is gonna open fire from a rooftop one day. I guarantee it. It's gonna escalate.

Probably easier to sneak away too.

Pretty sure it was a mechanical failure.

yeah, That's why I said it was weird to claim it's only unclear about the relatedness of those events surely they don't have any AA artilery I mean this is America but we don't tend to be that crazy I hope.

Edit: Above post: Ok that make more sense , Thanks.

Can you imagine the absolute clusterfuck that would occur if they actually shot the helicopter out of the sky with an AA gun lmao.
