I bet at one point the tournament gets down to just Goku, Gohan, Freeza, Toppo, Dyspo, Jiren, Hit, Caulifla and Kale.

Frieza will probably turn on them at some point, helping U11, maybe asks Zeno is he can switch and Zeno approves.

I think the final 4 will be Goku, Gohan, and Caulifla working together under the promise that they'll wish back the other universes vs. Jiren.

I can't get over Toppo saying they can't do the Justice thing anymore. Bro, the Pride Troopers have totally been acting like Heels during this entire tournament up until now.

Never liked the Roshi character.. maybe he was cool in the orginal dragon ball?

Roshi was...probably still is a monster. Age is the only thing holding him back. Dude has likely well over a century of battles and experience. I kind of wish hed get to be young again, just for a short time just so we could actually see him in his prime.

After this episode, I'll recommend even more skipping Super's initial episodes and going with the movies.
All the stuff about Super Saiyan Goku matching Super Saiyan God that Super added doesn't make any sense now. Even the lines about Super Saiyan Blue being a power beyond God are kind of dubious too.

What are you even talking about? Even in the movie, Goku absorbed Super Saiyan God as Beerus said himself.

guys, it's not that complicated

god is faster than ssj, and uses less stamina than blue

but blue is stronger and faster than god

goku just switched to blue when necessary to actually hit dyspo

it's the same thing vegeta did in the manga; it is probably something toyotaro saw in the preview of the tournament arc and borrowed

I'm pretty sure they implied God is faster than Blue, plus I doubt God and Blue drain more stamina than 3.

No, they said he was faster than he was as a Super Saiyan. He's better in every way in Blue, just like he's better in every way in Super Saiyan over Base, except it eats more Stamina.

So he's using SS or SSG to fight non-Blue level foes and using Blue as a sort of Kaoiken. Exploding into it for an insant finishing level power, without maintaining the form and burning all of his power.

No.

#TheMoviesWereRight

They show Goku transform from base to God

One more reason to skip episodes 1-27 an watch the movies, they're really starting to pile up

Like you guys needed any excuses. You're not fooling anyone.

This is why people still think Beerus used 70% of his power against Super Saiyan God Goku.

Can Vegeta use Super Saiyan God in the manga?

Pretty weird chapter, somehow it felt like Goku didn't do anything at all even though he did. That vuvuzela though, I can't believe they referenced something like that in Dragon Ball.

It's basically the same as the manga. It's weaker but uses less stamina. However, it's still better than SSJ1, which contradicts Super's version of BoGs. It lines up fine with the movie though.

No it doesn't. All Beerus said in the retelling is that Goku kept the power of Super Saiyan God even after he went Super Saiyan. It's the same as the movie except Goku never went Super Saiyan God again.

Liked the episode even more in HD with subs. I don't like that God is back, but other than that I really loved this episode, Hit was awesome.

This is my feeling as well. Super Saiyan God was pointless, just like it was in the manga. It could have been skipped and nothing of value would have been lost. Goku literally could have been Blue the entire time.

Because I'm scared of going on Toonami gaf with my avatar, something that confused me in Kai.

Why is Bulma reaching for the DB when several people can fly?

Also that Roshi scene felt more fucked up than anything in Super. At least Roshi owns up to all his fuck ups/ pevertedness in Super, instead of blaming them on Yamcha.

18's Kai voice is still trash.

Still sucks.

I'm pretty sure that whole thing is filler, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

No it doesn't. All Beerus said in the retelling is that Goku kept the power of Super Saiyan God even after he went Super Saiyan. It's the same as the movie except Goku never went Super Saiyan God again.

The movie mentions that Goku kept part of the power, the retelling specifically says that his power didn't change at all. The movie also has the scene at the end where Goku goes God again by himself and stops a blast that SSJ1 couldn't, while the anime removed that (since it wouldn't make sense with God = SSJ anyway). But now we run into this episode that doesn't make sense with the anime version of the arc.

He was using Blue to power his way through explosions.

I recognize that, but I just feel like they could have reintroduced SSG in a better, more meaningful way than this. By the logic established by the anime to this point, he should have been able to use Blue to track Dyspo and Kunshi and then simply power up when it was time to take the fight to them. Instead, SSG was on screen for roughly two minutes this episode while accomplishing nothing in the grand scheme of things. This was just a forced reminder that the form still exists and to poorly bend the anime to the manga's rules, which is odd after having 80 episodes or so of SSB exclusively and with a new form on the way.

I like the concept of bursting between forms just fine, but the utilization of it in this episode was lazy and I think it deserved a greater focus. Goku needed more screentime and he should have been put in more interesting combat situations to justify the return of SSG and the need to burst. Giving him two minutes in a Hit focused episode just took away from the story at hand in my opinion. Still a good episode, though.

Come on guys, going by your earlier reactions I thought this was going to be a dull one, but I enjoyed it a lot. Sure, Goku keeps being Goku and giving zero fucks about stuff, but I trust they'll bring back his awesome Frieza recruitment episodes self when things start to get more serious (though they should be already lol, we're talking about erasure here).
I wonder if we'll see Vegeta pull SSG every now and then too, or maybe he can't access that form yet as he didn't undergo the ritual.

I need some fanart of Champa and his vuvuzela, definitely one of my favorite parts of tonight's episode lol. When they first introduced him I didn't know what to expect, but I'm glad to see how he's being handled so far.

What did Goku do in this episode that was so bad? Helping Hit when he said he wasn't really helping him, but got excited when he saw Hit get mug? Not taking out Hit? Seriously, what is the issue with Goku here?

The one thing this episode made clear is Universe 6 is winning.

Champa's reaction to Goku helping made that obvious.

Universe 6 wins because an unconscious Kale or a cowering Frost remains in the arena after a Goku x Jiren double KO. And then Champa makes the winner wish back Universe 7 so he can lord it over Beerus.

Sounds perfect.

Goku's entry in that fight felt really undeserved considering the context...
Felt like he should have been thrown out right there and then. Also wondering if Toppo meant 'playing the hero' metaphorically or literally.

Also, Whis said that Goku was using to blue to match speed and power, so obviously blue is better than red in both areas. The show never set up any rule as to blue NOT being the better form, so there's no reason to false conclude that now. Blue is better than red, that's it.
