Fuck teammates who hoard all weapons/heals at the begging of the round even though it’s obvious I don’t have a weapon or in need of healing.

It's pretty fun. Made it to 30th and 26th place in my first 2 matches.

Does the BR mode not feature crossplay? Trying to find an option to invite or even just see my PC friends, thought it worked like Paragon where we could just team up.

PS4 <-> XBOX did for a bit but then got "fixed" by Epic. Sony being Sony. Not that I think Microsoft would be doing any different were the roles reversed.

Oh i know that MS apparently wanted it removed and thought it was only PS4/PC now, should've specified that i'm on Playstation. My bad!

The map is way small for 100 people. That's my main problem right now.

Eh, it wouldn't be if half the bus didn't jump out in the first two seconds. I think by the time bus passes half the map there are maybe 10 people left in the bus.

I wish there was a bit more terrain/environmental variety. Otherwise the map is great.

Yep. This is a lot of people's first time ever playing this style of game. A friend of mine, who isn't dumb, didn't realize you could strategically time your jump and thought he was hurting himself by not starting right away.

The game will evolve with time as people get better and understand it better.

We've had stretches of 5+ minutes at least of never encountering anyone and a lot of that is making a bee line for the circle.

It's pretty fun I'd say. Really like the artstyle and that it runs a ton better on my PC than Pubg does.

Won my third game - playing a two player squad with a friend hah - we didnt encounter anyone from we killed two people in the behinning until we were 3 people left at the very end.

Was hyped to try this on PC after enjoying the Xbox version, for that 60fps. But the PC version doesn't seem great to me. It runs really well though. No ability to adjust aim sensitivity, no toggle aim option, visuals are crazy blurry at a distance especially when sniping or dropping from the bus.

And the worst of them all - because I've played on Xbox with my Epic Games account I actually CAN'T play the game using that account on PC, it says the account can't play on this platform. So I had to create a 2nd Epic Games account just to try the PC version - totally dumb.

Sorry to hear that pal, absolutely not problems here on PS4 Pro. Great performance, great look, feels like 60fps.

I still think they should reconsider hitscan. Especially with the relatively low run speed. It's almost impossible to avoid fire unless you panic build walls around you.

I like the sniper as is... just do that for all guns :)

Closest I have come so far is 7th.

Same here (5 matches played).

I'm digging the art style and gameplay but can I hell get used to the shooting. I don't think I could hit a sniper shot if I had 100 bullets.

I tend to be quite slow to react so the other player always gets the first shot in. I'm sure that'll improve with practice.

#1 for the first time after I got 2nd in the previous match. Blasted the last enemy behind his cover with an RPG, very easy. An RPG in the end round seems very good.

Panic-building walls is kind of awesome. I like it better than smoke grenades in other games. Provides cover at the cost of supplies you could need later in the game so you have to decide if it's worth it or not.

Can't break the third place barrier. It only takes sneaking up on two or three people to get to that place, but once it's down to the final three I choke.

It's interesting to see the final two play evolve though. It seems like people are building multidirectional sniper's nests now.

TheRussianBadger on YouTube posted a really good video for tips on how to play. I'd post it but I'm on mobile. Helped me out a lot.

I was of the belief it was running at 30 on the Pro and X? Awesome if it's above!
As I said on my previous post, it runs at an average of 45 fps or close on PS4 Pro. It may feel smoother due to the game's motion blur, which is great, but it doesn't run at 60 at any time (maybe if you look at the floor or something)

I keep topping out at #17.

I really find avoiding the crowd is the best policy.
It's hard to find whose shooting at you though at times. Especially if there is lag on the first shot, so you see yourself take damage but have no idea what to do for the second shot. Unfortunately that second shot is usually the finisher.

It does count as a kill. At least, it updates the kill feed with your name when they 'expire'.
Oh ok I could have sworn I knocked out two member of a team and the third one couldn’t get back to them with out me killing them all.. but maybe there was a fourth member I couldn’t see behind the rocks.. reviving them.. :)

That's why I love playing on console rather than PC, there is no hacking on console.

Man, went to bed 10 hours ago and now I'm playing again since 2 hours. Play with a friend right now in a 2 man squad against all the 4 men squads and we're getting second and third places constantly. So much fun.
We still need a new Fortnite Discord.
I mean yeah it's a given that cheats will be more common on PC but allowing keyboard and mouse on PS4 almost feels like cheating. I've been able to react so much quicker compared to my enemies that I feel like I'm running an aimbot.

I stopped stalking people that i see from far away just to get that one kill.
Usually you will end up dead on the way there or after you take all the loot.
Just play it save and you will easily make it to the top 10.

Had a few games last night and it's OK, I'll probably play a for a bit but I can't see it hooking me as it stands right now.

The building element is fun enough but the core movement and gun play is a little too rigid and uninspiring. There's some recoil here and there but both the act of shooting most of the weapons and the feedback you get when you make that shot land (or indeed are shot yourself) are currently pretty lacklustre.

Beyond that I only have two real problems so far with the PS4 version. The main one is the controls in menus. How is there still no mouse pointer in the menus (PS4)? You can kind of get around it using reasonably intuitive keyboard shortcuts but not everywhere. I gave up trying to map keys as I just couldn't be bothered with the hassle or guessing where I was pointing so I still don't know if there is any way to alt look or peek.

The other one is the player draw distance when jumping out of the bus. It is very low so getting an idea of where groups land is quite challenging. You can kind of make out the streak left when a player is diving but beyond that, there's very little visual indicator to where people are going.

I'm going to keep playing for a bit as it's quite handy timing. I'm slowly moving to PC as my primary platform and as such having a multi-platform game with cross save is turning out to be quite useful. For one I can use it to start to learn to play keyboard and mouse and beyond that it will be nice to be able see, compare and contrast the difference in performance and visual clarity when my new build is done.

Pretty much. Don’t get why people do that.

It definitely feels more like 50-55 or even 60 sometimes. Normally I notice fps fluctuations very very fast, instant, but I don't do it here, it's very hard to notice and uncommon.

Would definitely like a Digital Foundry video about it.

I know right? It's like, the moment you land, at least 25 to 30 percent of the players are dead or still gunning each other down. Makes it easier for you, though.

Yeah, it feels somewhere between 45 or 50 on average. It's not that far from its target. I could definitely see the game getting into the 60's with some optimization.

I don't find it difficult to get into the top 10, or top 5.

Start on the outskirts of a town / large building and stock up via a shed, or some other small structure. Work your way to the nearest town / large building. Sneak from structure to structure collecting weapons, and paying attention to if somene's already been through that structure (i.e. open doors, dead person's loot) - listen out for footsteps. Take non-obvious paths when running to a new area, and check what's behind you every 5 seconds or so.

Is this aiming 60fps? I play one round on pro and it feel 60fps, with some dips.

Damn that's great, hopefully they have X support on Day 1 as all my buddies play this on Xbox so that's where I'll be playing it mostly. It's definitely 30 on a base Xbox with some drops when things get really busy. I have a Pro but haven't tried it out on there yet.
