To be fair GGO spin-off LN is written by Kino's journey author, and he is pretty pro at guns.

It being by Kino's author is probably the biggest selling point to me. Will at least end up checking it out.

Well I would not suggest self-harm over people trash talking Japanese cartoons, it's a sign of poor mental health. Do seek help if you feel you need it. It's pretty worrying.
That aside, it's not an argument that it's not worth thinking about things. It's an argument that intent and audience is important to determine the success of a product. Wasting time on expressing deep critical analysis on something no one really cares to engage in debate about is pointless. No one watches SAO to talk about shot composition or intricate details in the thought process behind each scene. People watch it to see Kirito and Asuna get it on, before he rekts all his enemies and unleashes his final form. If SAO achieves that, and fans like it, it is successful. I think everyone making it would also agree with that assessment.
I don't defend those movies. I just watch them (a few times in IMAX 3D) hoping that he will one day make Bad Boys 3.

Eh, there's nothing really terrible about the setting itself. As long as it features none of the mainline characters and creative freedom for the author, it could be fun. At the very least, I probably won't have to deal with harems and terribly cliched romances.

It's more of how dismissive duckroll was than anything else. In truth, it goes beyond art being subjective. It's the ultimate subjective thing. Stories exist to make a connection. Doesn't matter how well you design a story, how smart it is, if it can't make that connection it'll fail every time. But that doesn't mean stories are immune to criticism. It certainly doesn't mean "those words don't mean anything".
All the criticisms someone makes can be true but that doesn't have to stop you from enjoying it anyway. I finished Knight's and Magic this season but not really much else because I just wanted to see this story of a fun world where a cute kid plays with giant robots. But for me to act like it isn't flawed...I mean. C'mon.

For reals. The setting's ripe for some exploration, and it being by the author of Kino's Journey piqued my interest right up.
I expect something plenty entertaining, at the very least.

So we start the Chi-chan long arc. This isn't going to be as easy as with Mako, where they decided to dance together, and boom, done! Getting a partner is going to be hard.
Chinatsu bring her own baggage and inner turmoil, you can see how she backs when they were going to start dancing, and in how she flips flops between wanting to do it and not to do it. Tatara has to discover that his leading until now has been kind of.. uh... childish? True leading in competitive dance is really more assertive and dominant, and finally their personality clashes in a much more pronounced way than when he danced with the timid Mako.
And all this is good, this is a fiction story and in the end, the heart of fiction is usually conflict. It would be boring otherwise.
Also, sometimes I have the mind of a 14 years old...

From the first few episodes of King's Avatar I saw, the only difference between it and SAO is a lack of romance. It's main character is still stupid busted.
Only difference between SAO and King's Avatar is that on is Isekai and the other deals with the inner-politics of an MLG team

Literally all the character designs look very unappealing and edgy. I hope it's a parody of Fate/Battle Royal stuff, but it will probably take itself seriously..

Ozen's input and involvement reinforced a lot of intrigue towards the world. Yes, I am actually keen on learning what is in the depths of this maddening Abyss a lot more than before, she's not just an interesting character on her own but also added a lot to the show for me. The tease towards the other White Whistle cave raiders carries a lot of weight owing to us getting a glimpse of Ozen and her capabilities as a White Whistle. The brief silhouette of their enigmatic appearances adds to this.
Ozen's input and involvement reinforced a lot of intrigue towards the world. Yes, I am actually keen on learning what is in the depths of this maddening Abyss a lot more than before, she's not just an interesting character on her own but also added a lot to the show for me. The tease towards the other White Whistle cave raiders carries a lot of weight owing to us getting a glimpse of Ozen and her capabilities as a White Whistle. The brief silhouette of their enigmatic appearances adds to this.
Episode 9 had me hooked in that the sense of danger over the verticality of the location and the random encounters put me on the edge but we are also cushioned in the labyrinthian burrows time and again, knowing at least there, they were safe from danger. This was a really good episode from start to finish.

Dropped. Thanks for the warning. And man, Juuni Taisen's art looks...kinda weak. I'm all for EO fanservice, but this doesn't appeal to me so...PASS. XD
SAO to this day remains the only anime that I've flat out dropped. On other occasions where I've come across an anime I wasn't enjoying I struggled through it to the bitter end, but I just couldn't with SAO.
The fact that it's getting a 3rd season triggers me something fierce.
Yeah, the first two episodes of PriPri led me to believe that the show was leaning heavily on the political intrigue side of things, but the show took a completely different road after that.
I did however enjoy the goofier parts of the setting, so I wouldn't be opposed to season 2 completely turning PriPri into a SoL anime with spies.
The fact that it's getting a 3rd season triggers me something fierce.
