Vangelis should come back from the shadows. But I guess it would mean more if he made his comeback with the new BR film recently announced.
He's 68 years old. He better start working on that shit right the fuck now.

If it's anything to go by the leaked scriptment...
The group meets an alien being(s) and they learn that these very tall and advanced beings created human race. "gods" reveal that they are pissed and want humankind dead.

What. Is that apart of the actual Alien mythos or what? Not sure how I feel about this.

Was following this thread for months until I was banzored and my subscriptions nuked, so I just caught up on the past month. Images are mixed, not a fan of the suit design. Holding off on the trailer footage, wanna see the good version first.

My most anticipated (new) movie of next year.

So I posted this leaked trailer on facebook and just had a friend that I don't speak to often message my phone to tell me that she's working on the film in post-sound and doesn't recognize any of that footage and she's seen at least half of the film's footage. She did say that the title sequence plays out like that, though.

The thought plickens.

Love how the Prometheus title card fades in like Alien did in the original. Also like how it looks like a horror sci-fi and not an action film. Prove me right, Ridley!

I recognized the woman falling down from one of the leaked shots we saw though.

I am not worried about the suit design.

Weirdly, that doesn't match up with the description and leaked footage from last week. I'm not sure this is the teaser that's actually going to be released in theaters.

Um, what I could see and hear seemed awesome. Need high quality trailer ASAP. Although the promo shots gave me mixed feelings, that trailer, rough cut and horrible quality as it was, built instant hype.

Love the how it plays off of the trailer for the original "Alien". Can't wait for a better version to come out.

Also was that the Space Jockey's ship they find in "Alien" in the final part of the trailer? If so it would match up with the plot description that leaked a while back.

I see images like that, and get excited. Then I see images like this and get confused. I get that they're not the same suits, but stylistically they don't look like they belong in the same universe.

In short, the sets are super bright to capture as much detail as possible, then the film will be made to look dark and gritty during post-production.

That trailer sure has the "Alien" vibe, great! I'm glad it's not very action heavy but focusses more on suspense.

I thought he meant the design of the suits was so different.
I'm betting you that once they do color and light grading, the suits will look completely different. That blue will turn almost dark-bluish-grey in color and then the design will make sense in the world.

Hadn't seen those blue suits before. I'm getting a Mass Effect vibe from them which is awesome. They should look great in the film.

i want the trailer for this already. they showed some extended footage at comicon, yet still haven't even given us even a teaser for this yet. with only 6 months remaining until release date!
its almost as if this film is so good that the people that are working on it are too busy watching it to remember that it's supposed to be released at one point.

I get that, I was talking about suit design. Not concerned about the film by any stretch, but they're just ugly. The only lighting to help those would be none at all. :p
To be clear, that shot is not from Prometheus; it's from a short independent film inspired by Alien that was shown at or around Comic-Con, or something.

Thanks for this, I'd always assumed it was from Prometheus.

oh no...

but it looks like the same sort of suit is present in the trailer(if I recall correctly).

And yea, I had also always assumed it was prometheus.

He's not really in the shadows, as he has been performing around the world as composers do. In fact he has a concert coming up featuring the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra for the inauguration of an amphitheater.

Someone really in the shadows is Brad Fiedel, composer of Terminator 1,2, and True Lies. I wish he'd come back to films.

Agreed, although the trailer helped alleviate some fears, even though the quality sucked and you cant get too much of a feel for how things looked. Still, Im hoping those magazine pics were just studio shots and not a sample of what to expect from the film.

Ah, wait, that other pic isnt from Prometheus? Too bad, really liked the visual look.

Some of the shots in that trailer were fucking HHHNNNNNGGGG.

Like the horseshoe ship, and the bit right before the end cut were they were running away from the bright red fireballs. This movie has so much style, and the quality of that video was so bad.

I was just thinking that for every recycled melody he had in Avatar, he had another piece that was pretty great.

Also, he did a great job on Aliens - that Atmosphere Station track was used in more trailers than Inception horns are these days.

I actually liked his work on Avatar to be honest, and Aliens' soundtrack is a classic, but I don't know to be honest...whoever is picked I hope he's better than everyone that worked on Scott's movies post-Gladiator. :p

Reminds me of the Hobbit production diaries, that set for mirkwood looked like dayglo super bright black light paint. and the makeup was super re-orange because the RED cameras they used desaturated the image so much.

Awesome. It has the same sound effect from the original Alien trailer.

Awesome. Been a long time since I have seen that. I love that almost half of the footage is not even in the movie, there are no shots of the alien (just a literally split second of the face hugger/egg).

WE SO EXCITED

Even if this turns out average I'm sure I'll love it anyway. Trailer got me hyped.

And you'd think people would stop judging the look of films with pre-release shots considering the number of times they've came out and looked drastically better in theaters. Look at the whole Thor fiasco for example. Asgard ended being the best part of it.

Great teaser.

Really getting pumped..I prefer Alien to Aliens, I love Ridley Scott, and I have a fascination with Greek mythology.

This is made for me.

The plot leak that they denied was true is pretty much 100% completely true at this point.

I hope so. I love that plot leak. It's a nice precursor to the Alien series and thematically has resemblance to the actual Prometheus mythology.
