guys get this,

My thoughts exactly. The now-definitive version of one of the best games of this generation for TWENTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS.

THANK YOU BASED AMAZON, FROM SOFTWARE, NAMCO-BANDAI, AND DURANTE! And that other person who figured out a major part of getting 60 FPS whose name escapes me at the moment.

It's good if you don't mind some trial and error while you figure out the mechanics, and how not to die. Finding new areas and how they connect to old ones is mindblowing at times. Its just good old visceral fun.

EDIT: Wikis for this were seriously helpful for me. purist would rather you just jump into the world and figure it out.

While that GIF is awesome, the community basically managed to fix KB/M controls as well. They're not as good as a controller, obviously, but they're at least functional now.

It runs on my Core 2 Q6700 @ 2.7 Ghz (and HD6770), although the framerate suffers in a few areas (not as bad as on consoles but it's still pretty bad).

Edit: Although, I haven't played since DSfix 0.8 was released, so maybe now the game will run better. I'll give it a try soon. Maybe by using the fps unlocker and limiting the framerate at 30?

I'd also only be running it at 1440 x 900 and on an HD6850. I imagine it'll probably do better than the console version at least.

Hmm, tempted. Do I have to beat the game to access the DLC? I got pretty tired of the game after Lost Izalith/activating the Lord Soul.

Where are all the awesome screenshots? The guys in the High Res thread have been killing it lately.

I wonder if modders will do anything else to improve the game? I had trouble getting into Demon Souls, but there was a lot of potential there...

Is that even possible? Are they gravelord enemies? but there are more than 3 of them..wtf is going on there lol..hack?

Yes it is possible, in his effort to escape he triggered all the BP enemies in the area

Besides current fixes, to the Framerate and resolution, what could they possibly do to make this game better?

Is the multiplayer still completely broken?

if by broken you mean there's rarely anybody around (except outside gargoyles, why are you all outside the gargoyles????), summons fail 9 times out of 10 and invasions constantly fail, then yes. That's generally my experience on the PC version so far, unfortunately. I've opened all the ports that needed to be opened but alas it hasn't helped any.

If you mean mask-wearing, backflipping, giants armour lagstabbers.. masks and woodgrain ring have been nerfed. Hermit crabs and miracle resonance work better than ever before.

edit: don't mean to sound cranky, just annoying when I feel like sitting in Anor Londo helping people with O&S .. and I can't for the life of me get summoned. I <3 souls co-op which is why it hurts.

I know this feel. Souls co-op is my bread n' butter and the lack of summons has me bummed.

You should buy this game. It really is as good as people say it is.

That's around 100 hours more than anything else released this year. Also, I played atleast half of that in co-op. Probably 3/4.

I got this game for full price after the mod was released despite not connecting with Demon Souls.
I ended up playing 93 hours and have been trying to avoid starting a new character as to not get myself lost in time playing the game again (though I didn't resist starting a NG+ recently).

I definitively recommend getting the game, it's worth the $40 and it's definitively worth the $20.

Tempting but I really can't see playing this anytime soon with everything else out.

After you try the game I think you'll find yourself in the opposite predicament.

Can I maintain a stable 60FPS at 1080p with good DOF and maybe even SSAA with a 660, 8GB-Ram and a core-i5 2400 3.1 Ghz?

I'll buy it anyway, but some info on that will help me to keep my expectations in order.

Yes, in the vast majority of areas. You'll drop some frames if there are tons of alpha-blended effects on screen, but that is the case in many games.

I'm conflicted since I want to buy this version with the Durante fix since it'll be better than console, but I don't have the patience for this. ;_;
