Wait... that's hilarious! Can someone Avatar that for me, for real? I'd love that.

I think it's a line that got partially cut off on the feed for some people I think. Me and the friend I was watching it with on Spike heard it clearly near the end. A couple others have mentioned it in this thread.
I can't seen to find any legal entity called "Moby Dick Studio" (or similar) in Sweden. Note that there could be several logical reasons for that.
For history books
I knew he did, and I would welcome the idea.Kojima does love the Creed.
I'm all for this.Kojima had this idea way back. I'm like the ONLY one who remembers. Way before AC game out.
I forget the name, but the was a database of MGS at some point, I think it was released with the PSP digital comics. It was a DNA database that you could use to relive memories (get info) about those characters.
But even before this, the very first trailer of MGS3 hinted at MGS3 being a simulation of Big Boss' memories.
It said "Relive the memories!", and the intro was the end of MGS2, look at what part they chose:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A5acFjVAmA
MGS3: I need some kind of proof the this was not the action of the US government. If you fail, it will be the beginning of a new world war.
MGS2: We need to pass the torch, and let our children read our messy and sad history by its light. We have all the magic of the digital age to do that with. Building the future and keeping the past alive are one and the same thing.
Then you see:
GENE x MEME x SCENE. MGS3. LIVE MGS. Relive MGS. Survive MGS. Time and time again (you see the clock going backward). Relive the 60s. Relive the Cold War. Relive espionage. Relive memories. (man what an awesome trailer). Later on it says "MGS is revived to survive the future."
In the final game you still had the "Snake! You'll create a time paradox!" voice from Campbell (Patriot AI?).
Then we never heard of this idea again. But I'm sure in Kojima's mind it's always been there. Even in Rising soldiers have their memories in their left arms.
I was thinking this too when it was mentioned Snake was in a coma, but I doubt it would ever happen. It would be great if Kojima retcons MGS4 so is only a dream Snake had while in coma.
Yes, like the fact that it doesn't exist at all, which we established 100 pages ago.
The nurse is looking at him on the bed and says "Subject V is awake" or something to that effect
So what's the consensus with this game? Is it MGSV?
I was just about to say, "This reminds me of those theories leading up to MGS3!", but I see that's what you were going for lolMy guess right now is that Solid Snake relives the memories of Big Boss (and others, indirectly), through the use of some database/tech. The weird sounds in both trailers when strong lights are present, or the orange vertical floating bars in the first trailer when looking at computer screens, both indicate to me that the "viewer" is disconnecting/waking up under certain circumstances.
Yup. Now's a great time for me to pick up the MGS HD Collection.
Big Boss gets captured by the burned man after the prologue, and they have Psycho Mantis torture him.
Let's not overcomplicate things with reliving memories and the Animus, haha.
I wonder if they'll release this for Xbox as well
No, it's a stupid fake Russian accent: "Ve has come to." = "He has come to."
I thought that's what it sounded like, but I don't think its a fake accent. I think she's really saying "V", cause there's no way that a russian accent would change an h sound to a v.
NICE!thread title...
Ok so how would she say IV? Yve? Or III? Eeeeee?
It's a shitty fake accent like all the awful Russian accents of all MGS games.
Fake?
This thread made me wanna play MGS1 again.
you know what? screw I am gonna play it !
I personally feel it gets too much hate on GAF.I've played MGS and MGS2 and now I want to play the rest. Is MGS4 any good though? There's really (near) 2 hour cutscenes?
Would love if Kojima had made this, more than likely just a gaffer though
Only Kojima could manage a main villain that nobody even remembers... thanks MGS4.
I almost started playing MGS4 again because of all this.
Then I realised that was a silly idea, and am replaying MGS3 on my Vita!

I thought that was the beauty of it. A true villain of a shadow govt wouldn't be in the spotlight, cackling.
I'm one of the few that love MGS4, so i will probably reply it soon.

I've only played Metal Gear Solid 3... how are the ones on the PSP? Thinking about getting MGS 2 used and MGS 1 off PSN.
I enjoyed the first and second chapters. But goddamn I felt everything after that played terribly.
You should play MGS3, it's much better than 4.
The PSP ones are both pretty good. Portable Ops has a bunch of control issues thought simply because of the limitations of the PSP, but I personally had a lot of fun with it. Peace Walker is pretty awesome, although i'd recommend the MGS HD Collection version of it simply again for control reasons.
I wish the Vita HD republish would have been remade with the 3DS's control scheme, has anyone else played this version? Man I am so frustrated that the definitive controls for MGS3 and portability exist on 2 different handhelds...
'm one of the few that love MGS4, so i will probably reply it soon.
Oh, whoops. Funnily enough I heard V before the logo discovery was made so I just thought it was a hint. No, it's a stupid fake Russian accent: "Ve has come to." = "He has come to."
I could not disagree with you more.
If this is Project Ogre it could also signify being this game being the White Whale Kojima has been chasing. He's made it pretty clear that it has been a tough project.I'm definitely a fan of it.
I expect that "Moby Dick" in the studio's name refers to the fact that the whale in Melville's novel is a symbol without a clear referent. In other words, it's an unknown quantity, a symbol or expression of something, in this case likely Kojima Productions.
I thought that was the beauty of it. A true villain of a shadow govt wouldn't be in the spotlight, cackling.
