WTF is going on with FF Type-0?

I've been following the topic over at GBATemp and things are looking good. I don't think there's anyone more qualified than MagiusNecros to manage the project and with him at the helm I'm confident that it'll be accomplished.

Just so you know, that NSRSM guy is me.

I can try project management despite having no experience.

SE hasn't announced anything for the platform in over a year. Perhaps FFX HD and that Unity ARPG will resurface, but I wouldn't expect much more than that.

MHP offered local multiplayer, an experience that was incredibly well-suited for the Japanese market and only possible on a handheld. What would distinguish the Vita version of FFX HD, other than mere portability?

A quality FF game for the Jp market.

Yeah I know, which is why I'm so confident that things will work out. :)

I would like to contribute in some way, but my time is very limited with school starting back up and with work. I'm the administrator for the Senran International Academy (it's a fan community for the Senran Kagura series) so that takes up some time, but since I'm capable of translating if you need someone to look over/edit translations I think I could do that.

Incentives can also include co-marketing.
But I was referring to FFX HD. SE seems to need a lot of motivation these days. Not to mention, there was a multi-game deal for the PSP with them. I have to wonder if something similar will happen with the Vita.

Given it took Square Enix upwards of three years (!) to deliver some of those PSP games I'm not sure I'd want to look at Vita's weekly sales by the time any of their original games would be out for it. Heck, you can blame Type-0's lack of localization on the game taking three years to release. They had no problem releasing PSP games in North America in late 2010/early 2011
then they got the sales figures for those games.

Considering a port of a PS2 game sky rockrted the PSP they're not exactly going in the wrong direction.

A single player only JRPG HD re-release that's also available on a home console doesn't exactly scream potential for chart topping phenomenon.

Don't think Type 0 for Vita with it's current install base and the conflicts it supposedly has had with Sony make it a viable option honestly.

If you guys want help with English voice acting, I have absolutely no experience and will work for very high costs. Just putting that out there.

My first thought: Why not just have New and Load so that Game isn't cut off?

I wasn't really interested in this game, but it's nice that some of you will get to play it.

It's a work in progress. I believe they've actually already fixed the graphics so they won't get cut off like that.

How high are the odds that S-E sends a C&D to the fan translation team ?

People have done fan translation of their games before and have not been ordered to C&D. So it should be alright.

Very low but not none. They already took down a few fan remakes projects, if I remember correctly.
If they have plans for a Vita version this might be taken down, even if that projects would end up never being realized.

I'm glad to see a rebirth of the fan translation scene, it was a given seeing how many high profile games never got published in English afterall.

Fan translations can never get taken down, as they do not use any property Square Enix owns. They are distributed just as simple patch files, being made up of only text.

Yeah, the IPS patchers are usually found elsewhere. Cannot imagine Square closing down a project to release a TXT file...
